Wilson is probably gonna get hurt but if he’s not hurt, he’s still a pretty solid player. His ability on the field isn’t the question in my opinion, his health is. When he’s healthy he’s good, could be cooked but might not be if actually healthy.  Again tho. It’s likely he gets hurt. So might aswell get that out the way early.

the rest? Meh really. I haven’t gone to practice so I can’t say who has or hasn’t stood out. Maybe the guy dressing have stood out and the ones who just got here haven’t. Tony or Jon? I dunno if it makes a difference. DL seems to be less about sacks and with 9 lbs, 10 if you include Ayers who ppl earlier thought would get cut but are now complaining he made the roster as DE instead of LB, but with  3 American OL starting, there’s gonna be some interesting to say the least decisions made. 3 American OL = 1 American comes off. Putting a guy like Cooley on? It means another needs to come off. As for the Canadians? You need to dress them, that’s the rules. A guy like Korny dressing, doesn’t effect how many Americans dress. Korny dressing tells me we don’t have the cdn depth currently.

That's who I was thinking of

of whom was also converted intoa slot receiever for most part too....it can be done

No reason why Cooley can't be tried in that role....plus then you have a legit backup RB on your roster god forbid BO gets hurt

Which American you taking off to get Cooley on?

cuz that’s how it works. American replaces American.

Anthony Coombs.

Good friend of mine has coached/currently coaching high school football for nearly 20 years. He's watched/played against Andrew Harris, Demski, Coombs, etc over the years. All the Winnipeg greats. He's always maintained that Coombs was the best and most talented out of them all. Surprised he never amounted to much in the pros.

there's the rub...Healthy and able he is still top 3 WIL in the league...that being said he been here going into 8thbyr now...played a full season in 2018...then after that most ever was 10 games....at 32 now...do we or the team really think he best suited as the starter?...If we could do it roster wie he's be a great DA extra....but 7 yrs in league at an avg of of just shy 8 games a yr?....shoulda moved on...T.Jones as well....gonna be 30....never really established himself as a legit game shifter....less than sparkling stats.....I'd have gone J.Jones...better all around...3 yrs younger...and was a force when he played

Sterns....Cooley can easily fill that5th spot and what Sterns will give us

So youre hoping a guy who hasn’t lined up at receiver ever can play receiver while  Chris Streveler is starting at QB ? Hmm. I dunno about that one. I like Cooley also but he’s not getting on over a receiver when there’s just 6 receivers dressed as is.  One of the Americans will come off when Logan is healthy anyways.

Prob be more a benefit than anything...motion backfield...out let guy....you guys make it sound like these pro athletes are handicapped or one dimensional and cant do anything other than the basic task of their position

Sterns did nothing to earn his spot...White would have offered more...Mitchell probably too.

Logan could play that same role as well when healthy...giving us the ability to dress an american on defence..Woods..Person..J.Jones

I'd flip griffin to starting corner, take bridges off and put cooley on. That leaves us with Vaval as the dime and kr, plus ayers/shay/smith who can fill in in a pinch as the dime wil, or S.

Carrying 2 back up imp dbs, plus ayers who has played some S and Sam in camp/pre season, and shay/smith is pretty wild when you have no back up imp wr, rb, de, or dt.

At that point, I'd actually go with another imp DL over cooley currently. But I'd take off an IMP lber for cooley/an imp wr as well.

Youre stuck on cooley is a starting wr now! No one is making that case. He'd be a sub pack  player as a varied back field threat, and the back up imp wr in case of injury that we do not have.

Cooley as the emergency wr > Just corcoran. 2 guys go down MCI is playing wr, and he's not even a RB yet.

Cooley would get 3 snaps a game if that. Can he play special teams cuz if not you’re wasting a spot. Logan makes sense as he can replace Vaval and is a proven commodity in the league. He can rb kr and prob play receiver. Cooley can for sure be a RB and that’s it. Brady is the best back in the league. You ain’t giving the extra back many touches. Can Cooley block even? I’m not stuck on him having to be a receiver.  I’m stuck on him just being a RB when we have the best one in the league. It makes no sense to roster him right now. None. Zero.

Another easy swap is to roster Cobb over Stearns, start Corcoran as the decoy/5th receiver (at least while we have 3 imp OL) and get Woods or Person onto the roster for DL.

This is not football from 25 years ago. 1 back in the nfl last year averaged 20 carries a game for the season. The best running backs in the world do not take all the carries anymore. And this isn't a new thing. Also, short of injury corcoran isnt getting 3 snaps either.

Or just put Person in for Ayers if he's an impact player.  We have 8-9 guys on who IMO are mostly there for special teams.  So that number is potentially a little high.

Our offense is incredibly thin.  I can't see changing much on that side to dress another guy on D.

Lefrance I believe in 2014/15

LaFrance and Coombs came same year and Demski came into U of M one year later.  All tailbacks from high school.  LaFrance and Coombs both went to Sturgeon, LaFrance a year older and played a year with Rifles.  Coombs was mostly recruited as a corner, even by the Bisons.

Demski scored 8 TD's in the WHSFL D1 Championship game.  And Dobie picked Coombs and LaFrance over him at tailback, which probably wasn't the best decision for them competitively because they mostly had horseshit QB's and really limited Demski's touches.  Demski by far the best player of the 3, and most dangerous with the ball in his hands.  Coombs was very boom or bust as a tailback even back to Sturgeon and high performance teams at Canada Cup.  LaFrance was best suited to being an every down back.  Demski really never got a chance at it with Bisons.

Sterns beaten Mitchell for the roster spot and people here says he doesnt make sense to be in the lineup. Lol! I'll give MOS & Hogan the benefit of the doubt than people who are just relying on the preason games and updates from X and 3DN.

Thats it eh?....RB and nothing else....and thats according to???

yes he played teams...Osh even commented that he was out there just destroying guys....Stop being fixated on the "rb" attached to his name....means jack.. and him....and Logan for that matter being on field at same time does not mean it takes away touches for BO....He will get his touches....but also I hope this yr now we dont have Buck that we distribute the ball to guys who are open...or have the best play developing....its not about who touches the ball the most...ot's about how you go about touches to get a win

yeah that makes more sense....a raw rookie with limited skill set..seems like an odd choice

White showed more than Sterns...Hall showed more than both them....White offers more to in the run facet of our game which I assume we will be leaning on....guess we will see but putting a guy on our roster who couldnt stay on Sask's isnt a win in my books...thats a fail

MOS shouldnt get the benefit of the doubt based on a lot of his rostering....some people around here think he's just this other worldly god who does everything right...and he aint...no coach is

Man, after seeing this depth chart, Strev starting, I dont have tons of confidence tomorrow

I question how they chose their bottom few Canadians and lack of rec depth, but nothing major. This is still a good roster. I’m expecting a home win, even with our backup qb.

It's an okay roster... But it's a goddamned shame when you know what we have scratched tomorrow. It could just be so much better.

Looks like Mike Miller got who he wants.  And there wasn't that much to choose from really with the injuries.
