2025 CFL (Non-Bombers) Season

From 3DN about TSN broadcasts this year....

"The CFL on TSN is taking a renewed approach to its broadcasts for 2025.

The network’s panel will travel to all nine stadiums over the course of the upcoming season, sources told 3DownNation, including visits to Regina and Montreal in Week 1. Kate Beirness is returning to host the panel with Henoc Muamba and Davis Sanchez filling the main roles alongside her.

Paul LaPolice will also frequently appear on the panel, though he will also perform colour commentary for one game per week. As previously reported, longtime panelist and Hall of Fame quarterback Matt Dunigan is no longer with the network.

As for Milt Stegall, who has been with the network since 2009, there is no timeline for his return after the death of his eldest son, Chase. The 20-year-old died unexpectedly at DePaul University on Monday where he was a member of the school’s soccer team.

“Our CFL on TSN family is absolutely devastated over Chase’s passing. If you know Milt, you know that his family is everything to him, and we cannot imagine the pain he is going through right now,” said producer Chris Edwards in a statement to 3DownNation. “Milt is our brother and we are going to give him our love and support him in any way we can, and in whatever way he needs.”

During a broadcast teeing up the 2025 season on Tuesday, TSN dedicated its coverage this year to Chase’s memory.

TSN plans to flesh out the panel by rotating in active players, though it doesn’t appear as though this will happen every week. Players will generally make panel appearances during bye weeks, though there may also be opportunities for in-studio appearances when players are in town to play the Argonauts or Tiger-Cats.

Friday Night Football, a longtime network staple, will have a brand new presentation featuring fresh animations, graphics, and music. One source called the scope of the production “bigger.”

The play-by-play personnel at the network has remained unchanged for 2025, featuring Rod Smith, Dustin Nielson, Marshall Ferguson, and occasionally Farhan Lalji. Colour commentary will be performed by Glen Suitor, Duane Forde, and LaPolice."

Honestly the main selling point of the CFL are the timing rules of the final 3 minutes.  And arguably the most boring part of any NFL game when a team with a one score lead can just bleed the clock un

it’s basically to a point where 80% of gc games need to be played in one of 3 places.

While thats true, not a ton of cities make much off the game. A place like calgary or edmonton would very likely lose money to have a 20-25k ish attendance.
Half the fields in the league this year aren’t high enough quality either imo.

Don't get me wrong, it's pretty sad sack when it comes to venues but you gotta let the East have them too because they (whether we like it or not) are our league's only hope of survival.

Question: How is a Riders vs Bombers match up not ranked #1?

Answer: The author is a Stamps fan.

He actually explains his some of his reasoning in #8 (and he's probably not wrong): "The bottom line, however, is that most CFL fans are sick of seeing the Blue Bombers make it to the Grey Cup every year, which would throw a blanket on the excitement for this matchup."

I know if it was the Riders in 5 straight GC's, I'd want to see anybody but them... thankfully that will never happen for the filthy 4 stripes. 😂

So how I'm reading this is for the love of Gawd we need our BB's back in the show for the 6th straight time please and thank you. 🙂

It's funny that there is an entire cohort of CFL players who dont know anything but the Blue Bombers making the Grey Cup. Most teams are only going to have single digit players who have been in the league more then 5 years.

According to some, and the hatred for us dominating the CFL for the last half decade, has us definitely being compared to the OLD Montreal Canadiens and their domination which seemed like forever....No NHL fan wanted to see them get a sniff of ol Stanley in those years...Fast track up to today and Montreal fans would love to just make the playoffs every season....I hope to hell that scenario is not waiting for us...In any event I still want to win it all and to heck with the haters....Guess we'll just have to put up with their whining jealousy and keep on with the keepin' on

We can all agree we want to see the Riders lose the WF, preferably in the most humiliating fashion possible.

It's pretty much the only thing uniting this board right now...

I'm actually pulling for a Riders vs Bombers Grey Cup.

Would love to see a different outcome than 2007.

I don't even wanna take the chance of a replay... I'm not mentally strong enough to handle that. The sooner they're gone, the sooner they're NOT playing in our barn at all... No chance of them winning here. Good riddance to bad rubbish and all that...

I hear you.

But, I was at the 2007 game and to see 80% of the crowd cheering for the Riders and then the Bombers losing.....

I would just like to feel the other end of the emotional spectrum.

100% get what you're going for, and the best case scenario is fantastic.... But is the juice worth the squeeze??

I'm completely satisfied with BC or Calgary going into Regina and crushing their hopes. That team can then come here to lose to us. It's a win win without infecting our city with Rider fans.

The fact there are only four other QBs in this photo is hilarious.

Winnipeg Sask final would be best for the league. Bombers winning would or should be a big story but it won’t be. Even if we make it to the final we won’t get the love previous teams who hosted and played in finals got. TSN would be cheering for BC or SAsk. Us beating them would be historic really. Winnipeg Sask is what I want.

Is that because it would drum up so much interest in the failing markets?

It’s because those 2 fan bases care the most. That’s why. There’s nothing anyone can do about **** sales in Toronto. Toronto has to deal with that. The failing markets aren’t in the playoffs or hosting games. Winnipeg can’t help ppl buy season tix in Toronto. Ya failing markets but Winnipeg and Sask aren’t. They are 1 2 gold standard in the league. The other teams can learn from them.

Ahhh okay I was just clarifying .... So it's best for the league to showcase something for the fan bases who are already dialed in for life.

I mean Canadians will watch the grey cup. It’s what we do. Toronto actually surprisingly gets good tv numbers. Lots of ppl in the GTA watch but don’t go to games. Why is that. There’s your solution. Find out why they watch on tv but don’t go to the stadium. CFL averages what. Let’s say 500k viewers a week? Like per game. Maybe bombers riders above that but every game 500k ish watch. 13000 show up in Toronto but 150k of that 500k is in the gta region. More ppl watching on tv than going to games in every city really. Why? Free?

For sure. My son tells me that the Rum Hut is a great place to meet chicks or at the very least it has earned that reputation in his age group.

And I doubt some of these other stadiums make half the effort the Bombers make.

It's because going to games is FUN and reasonable priced. It's a meeting spot for the millenials and younger.

Wade should be the CFL commissioner
