Particularly when you walk in on someone flossing with a 12 gtuage.

I’m not giving anyone a hard time but a lot of us don’t know how extremely respectful and caring the majority of first responders and medical professionals are to people who are experiencing severely distressing situations. Dark humour is a coping mechanism to keep them sane and focussed on the task at hand. You have to be built a certain way to do this type of job.

Yeah for the folks who see a lot of bad things dark humour is the way to avoid getting overwhelmed by it.

Yes and no.

For those of us who have worked a long time (30+ yrs) in “the field”, it does not give us free reign to be disrespectful, under the guise of using black humour as an earned coping mechanism.

I apologize but my time as a paramedic and medical social worker has given me a macabre sense of humour shared by many in that field, including cops. It is a way of denying the horrors we saw. BTW: an 81mg aspirin taken once daily, prefereably at night, reduces heart attacks by nearly  50% and colon cancer by over 60%.

oh for sure. I said the majority, not everyone in the field are top end. No matter the vocation, there’s always ‘that guy’ that ruins it for everyone,

back in the day I was friends of friends with a bunch of ER nurses from the big trauma hospital in town, the one that pulls all the really gnarly **** .. got to party with them fairly regularly ... and damn those ladies had some funny stories to tell ... but if my life were on the line I'd be glad to be in their hands.

was hanging out with some American submariners in the aftermath of that billionaire imploding himself at the Titanic ... their jokes were funny as hell but were very very dark.

So Als gonna murder whoever they play in the East... And I feel like BC is going to come out of the West. Who the hell do we cheer for in that mess? Coach Buck? Rourke for speaking up against Evil Commissioners?

I got nothing.

I think its gonna be Riders vs Lions in the west. Rider offence is questionable but their defence is ferocius and BC's offensive line is not going to give Rourke much time. He is going to wish he stayed on the island with Tattoo.

change, that’s what i’m hoping for.

For other teams, I’d say hamilton. Montreal is tough and better coached, but i’m not betting on davis in the playoffs offs. I’m also not banking on bc stepping up in a tough game.

We still in it until it happens we aren’t. Obviously no where near the feeling of confidence for the last 5 years, logic tells us no way for anything positive but hey stranger things have happened. Keep the faith so to speak, why not. Argos suck, that’s something.

BC, I like Buck and Rourke.  Meanwhile Alexander and Maas, not likeable.

I'm ok with Hamilton going on a streak and winning it all.  It would be nice for the community to finally get a win after all these years.

My spouse ER nurse at Grace. Let's just say she LOVES Halloween.

A lot of dark, heavy stories everyday

I actually like Maas in his als days as well. He's really taken some big steps from where he was as a nut case before.

Yep, pretty much same for me. I don't really want to see the riders (ofc) or stamps win. And I'm torn on BC.

I grew up around a couple nurses, the wildest stories.  Tons of respect for anyone who works in health care, especially nurses. ER, RSNs, man, they got one of the toughest jobs.

I am also leaning on a BC Mtrl Cup this year......I got to know Buck outside of football, and he is a really nice family guy, so based on that I hope if we don't win it BC does for Buck.

Buck is a guy I really wanna go ice fishing with... I can root for him.

I like Doman, I like what they are trying to do in that market, I like a bunch of their football guys. McDairmid, Bourgoin, Young, Ringmaiden, etc. I like Rourke a lot more after he spoke out against the rules. They got a bunch of guys on the roster I like. I love the way they rebuilt that DL, too.  I love Buck the person; I had high hopes for him as a football mind and coach. I could see his last year here being what it was due to how the mafia works. Really don't like Awe and a couple of other guys.

I resemble that remark.

I can see a Montreal-Hamilton east final. I am leaning towards The Als advancing due to their vicious defence, but I think it will be close. That would make for good TV ratings.
