2025 CFL (Non-Bombers) Season

From 3DN about TSN broadcasts this year....

"The CFL on TSN is taking a renewed approach to its broadcasts for 2025.

The network’s panel will travel to all nine stadiums over the course of the upcoming season, sources told 3DownNation, including visits to Regina and Montreal in Week 1. Kate Beirness is returning to host the panel with Henoc Muamba and Davis Sanchez filling the main roles alongside her.

Paul LaPolice will also frequently appear on the panel, though he will also perform colour commentary for one game per week. As previously reported, longtime panelist and Hall of Fame quarterback Matt Dunigan is no longer with the network.

As for Milt Stegall, who has been with the network since 2009, there is no timeline for his return after the death of his eldest son, Chase. The 20-year-old died unexpectedly at DePaul University on Monday where he was a member of the school’s soccer team.

“Our CFL on TSN family is absolutely devastated over Chase’s passing. If you know Milt, you know that his family is everything to him, and we cannot imagine the pain he is going through right now,” said producer Chris Edwards in a statement to 3DownNation. “Milt is our brother and we are going to give him our love and support him in any way we can, and in whatever way he needs.”

During a broadcast teeing up the 2025 season on Tuesday, TSN dedicated its coverage this year to Chase’s memory.

TSN plans to flesh out the panel by rotating in active players, though it doesn’t appear as though this will happen every week. Players will generally make panel appearances during bye weeks, though there may also be opportunities for in-studio appearances when players are in town to play the Argonauts or Tiger-Cats.

Friday Night Football, a longtime network staple, will have a brand new presentation featuring fresh animations, graphics, and music. One source called the scope of the production “bigger.”

The play-by-play personnel at the network has remained unchanged for 2025, featuring Rod Smith, Dustin Nielson, Marshall Ferguson, and occasionally Farhan Lalji. Colour commentary will be performed by Glen Suitor, Duane Forde, and LaPolice."

Honestly the main selling point of the CFL are the timing rules of the final 3 minutes.  And arguably the most boring part of any NFL game when a team with a one score lead can just bleed the clock un

the identity of our defense used to be "we don't give up big plays"... you can dunk and dunk all game but we'll keep it short and hold you to FGs... now we seem to be giving up big plays regularly...

And at pivotal times of the game. It's very concerning.

Richie Hall era D was also all time great at turning ball over.

Well to be fair,  a marked improvement doesn't mean good... they were THAT bad previously.

And are still that bad. Keeping teams to a scoring average under 24 points a game is a must to be successful in this league. Teams are piling points on us and we do not have the offence to run and gun. Last year we held teams to an average of 19 pts a game I believe. Year before was even better.

Our offence took us to a 17 point first Q lead. That was erased shortly into the 3rd Q. That's not good defence. I understand that our offence didn't help, but you gotta have a D that can keep a team from coming back that quickly.

You still missing the point... previously the D would been carved up to the tune of 50 points. Yeah they still got some kinks to figure out but they're better. We're looking at steps here, not instant 180.

Until this secondary and receiving corps get upgraded.....we are gonna struggle

You forgot qb...center too...

I don’t think the O should be as bad as it is even with questionable qb play at times and other individual issues. Brady is a stud. Ignored lots. Demski is our only threat. But guys like Wheatfall and sterns have shown they can play also. Hell, Mitchell caught all 3 passes even. I think a dude at the game in Calgary mentioned the differences in O schemes there. Think we running a pretty vanilla crappy O. Was Zach that bad last game? His numbers suggest no. It’s play calling.

My position would be called Team Historian & Curator

Now, we have no HC or GM under contract for nest season. I expect that changes will be made this off season. They have to go 7-3 the rest of the way to equal last year. Could be doable but I have my doubts with this years team.

In the end Walters traded Dru and In the end Walters didn’t pay Kenny. And in the end, Kyle will be a gm out east.

More likely an AD in the Ontario Conference of U Sports.

So Evans starts and Dukes is the backup. Now we just need some of their DL and LB’s to injure themselves before next week. 🤞

The Als are totally .... . Just goes to show just how much of a qb driven league this is.

I wonder if they are desperate enough to trade for Collaros.

A DL for a starting qb? I don't think there's one GM in all of football who'd make that trade.

it's more a matter of what ZC value has become...plus Johnson is a beast

We can win with the version of ZC that showed up last night. With a centre that stays off his butt, ZC would've hung 40 points on the Redblacks.

I think we need to temper the enthusiasm a bit...It was Ottawa...and we almost lost, and really if Dyce wasnt even more clueless than Osh..we likely do
