2025 CFL (Non-Bombers) Season

From 3DN about TSN broadcasts this year....

"The CFL on TSN is taking a renewed approach to its broadcasts for 2025.

The network’s panel will travel to all nine stadiums over the course of the upcoming season, sources told 3DownNation, including visits to Regina and Montreal in Week 1. Kate Beirness is returning to host the panel with Henoc Muamba and Davis Sanchez filling the main roles alongside her.

Paul LaPolice will also frequently appear on the panel, though he will also perform colour commentary for one game per week. As previously reported, longtime panelist and Hall of Fame quarterback Matt Dunigan is no longer with the network.

As for Milt Stegall, who has been with the network since 2009, there is no timeline for his return after the death of his eldest son, Chase. The 20-year-old died unexpectedly at DePaul University on Monday where he was a member of the school’s soccer team.

“Our CFL on TSN family is absolutely devastated over Chase’s passing. If you know Milt, you know that his family is everything to him, and we cannot imagine the pain he is going through right now,” said producer Chris Edwards in a statement to 3DownNation. “Milt is our brother and we are going to give him our love and support him in any way we can, and in whatever way he needs.”

During a broadcast teeing up the 2025 season on Tuesday, TSN dedicated its coverage this year to Chase’s memory.

TSN plans to flesh out the panel by rotating in active players, though it doesn’t appear as though this will happen every week. Players will generally make panel appearances during bye weeks, though there may also be opportunities for in-studio appearances when players are in town to play the Argonauts or Tiger-Cats.

Friday Night Football, a longtime network staple, will have a brand new presentation featuring fresh animations, graphics, and music. One source called the scope of the production “bigger.”

The play-by-play personnel at the network has remained unchanged for 2025, featuring Rod Smith, Dustin Nielson, Marshall Ferguson, and occasionally Farhan Lalji. Colour commentary will be performed by Glen Suitor, Duane Forde, and LaPolice."

Honestly the main selling point of the CFL are the timing rules of the final 3 minutes.  And arguably the most boring part of any NFL game when a team with a one score lead can just bleed the clock un

I believe both do not have a contract for next year.

Perhaps this is part of the problem this season. Kyle. O’Shea. They don’t give a fuggg. I feel if one goes they both go and maybe even Wade also.

We hosting the cup and we did nothing this off season but let guys walk. Signed Jake Thomas tho. Beastie Boys know what I’m saying…  it’s sabotage

I dont think Wade goes anywhere. Bleeds Blue and Gold. Winnipegger through and through.

Yeah but new era means Wade goes gracefully. Although dude does seem to give a ****. So it’s possible he stays cuz his job, well, best environment in the league. Sellout after sellout. Sponsorship. Cash cow. Yeah. He might stick around.

Also, I don't think Wade would ever leave a thing in the state it's currently in. He's gonna wanna go out on top with everything more or less fixed for a long time to come.

As for the other 2 legs of the Trinity... They usually don't sign a new contract until the last one is up. The "no contract" is a non issue.

It’s been 11 12 years tho. I think it could be an issue.

It’s the cfl. Calgary sucked last year. There is no excuse for not trying to get better and seemingly trying to get worse with some decisions they made. Letting Kenny go, signing Jake, Zach 1 yr extension. Hogan. The cornerbacks and safety spot.

it’s just bad decision after bad decision. Kyle, Osh, they are legends here. Legends. 5 straight cups. 2 wins. Broke the streak. I mean Osh is winningest coach in bombers history no? Walters must be winningest GM. But 11 12 years now, they been to the top of the mountain brother, now they are falling down it quickly. Very quickly. But with a few tweaks (more than a few), perhaps it’s salvageable. But they keep trotting out the same **** each week.

step 1. Everyone on the pr or fake ir who hasn’t played yet, plays.

step 2. Start the minimum Canadians. That means no Jake. You know what if you are serious here about getting better, release Jake. And trade or release Streveler. And relieve the OC of his duties.

In the end Walters traded Dru and In the end Walters didn’t pay Kenny. And in the end, Kyle will be a gm out east.

this is definitely not aging well... Montreal made the tough (but correct) choice in moving on from a GC MVP to go with the younger, higher up-side QB... we had a chance to do that after 2023... and decided to stick with the (potentially) washed up vet... I understood the Dalton vs Kenny gamble in the off-season... but this is also not aging well...

Dalton vs Kenny would have made sense if he wasn't coming off only 11 months post acl repair

Kenny is playing great but the hindsight here is crazy right now. No one here wanted to pay him $300K back in the offseason.

100% this... There's so much hindsight involved. Absolutely the risk backfired in the worst possible way, but at the time....... I don't fault management at all for the decision th y made at the time.

To a lesser degree, I feel the same way about Dru Brown. Coming off the 2022 season, you were never not going to keep Collaros. He was murdering teams and still relatively young in QB terms.

And even now, seeing what he's done, I still couldn't justify paying $300K to a non-quarterback.

The bigger issue is how we struck out on every other receiver we brought into camp and mortgaged the future on a (great) receiver coming back off injury and the hope that Ontaria Wilson wouldn't make it to / through camp.   You can't bleed talent and expect to compete well.

Truthfully, it doesn't matter who we have behind centre right now.  There are so many issues on this team (from coaching, to receivers to offensive line) that nobody has a real chance to be successful.

I swear to god some people are so far down their own rabbit holes they've forgotten how to get out and are just digging deeper and deeper hoping they find a carrot.

It may be a non-issue but for free agents looking to sign somewhere, a coaching staff & management regime not under contract isn't the most attractive place to land.

we could have got him for 275k...and be money well spent....we just cheaped out...again....recurring theme....But have no issue in wasting money on sub par guys....basically just cause they were here in the glory 2 yrs

It was a very baffling offseason for sure.

there was Lawler...Coxie...Lewis...Rhymes among others....even Hollins...all gonna be available....but we targeted a back from brutal injury White Jr....back from injury Schoen...and a never was really in Sterns....who mind you would been a good cheap compliment to 2 studs...and to further add to the pile of meh Cobb....and heralded Mitchell as some huge steal...and paid handsomely...then sat and ate his salary until finally last week...then targeted him 3 times and didnt implement anything for him to show what he is capable of....stellar work if I say so lol

I know you are exaggerating to make a point, but there is ample proof that O'Shea has been playing favourites to the detriment of the team. That said, there seems to be a dearth of talent on this edition and a good deal of that blame lies elsewhere. Plenty of blame- enough to go around.

That's a fair assessment. At every level from management down to players, we are underperforming.. No team can win like that.

300 and 327 yards passing, 28 and 31 points, several explosive passing plays, is our defence really showing a marked improvement? The past two, we've been good for a quarter (Calgary) or a half (Toronto) and then seem to have issues.

Too many big plays surrendered to be suggesting our D is playing good

we had no o.c as well into FA....Another huge factor in where a guy may wanna go.....and we yreated that as no big deal....more stellar work with the ho-hum off-season
