From 3DN about TSN broadcasts this year....

 

"The CFL on TSN is taking a renewed approach to its broadcasts for 2025.

 

The network’s panel will travel to all nine stadiums over the course of the upcoming season, sources told 3DownNation, including visits to Regina and Montreal in Week 1. Kate Beirness is returning to host the panel with Henoc Muamba and Davis Sanchez filling the main roles alongside her.

 

Paul LaPolice will also frequently appear on the panel, though he will also perform colour commentary for one game per week. As previously reported, longtime panelist and Hall of Fame quarterback Matt Dunigan is no longer with the network.

 

As for Milt Stegall, who has been with the network since 2009, there is no timeline for his return after the death of his eldest son, Chase. The 20-year-old died unexpectedly at DePaul University on Monday where he was a member of the school’s soccer team.

 

“Our CFL on TSN family is absolutely devastated over Chase’s passing. If you know Milt, you know that his family is everything to him, and we cannot imagine the pain he is going through right now,” said producer Chris Edwards in a statement to 3DownNation. “Milt is our brother and we are going to give him our love and support him in any way we can, and in whatever way he needs.”

 

During a broadcast teeing up the 2025 season on Tuesday, TSN dedicated its coverage this year to Chase’s memory.

 

TSN plans to flesh out the panel by rotating in active players, though it doesn’t appear as though this will happen every week. Players will generally make panel appearances during bye weeks, though there may also be opportunities for in-studio appearances when players are in town to play the Argonauts or Tiger-Cats.

 

Friday Night Football, a longtime network staple, will have a brand new presentation featuring fresh animations, graphics, and music. One source called the scope of the production “bigger.”

 

The play-by-play personnel at the network has remained unchanged for 2025, featuring Rod Smith, Dustin Nielson, Marshall Ferguson, and occasionally Farhan Lalji. Colour commentary will be performed by Glen Suitor, Duane Forde, and LaPolice."

Honestly I am not too impressed with the Riders. Close games against two teams that likely aren't very good.

He played well but he still was a big contributor to the Ticats loss. His easy drop of an important first down pass from BLM,  ended up giving the ball back to the Riders who promptly scored the winning points. As he discovered when he went to Edmonton for the same reason a few years back, it ain’t all about the money 🙂‍↔️

Absolutely terrified of the hit he was about to receive on that pass he dropped. 

Sorry to see what happened to Reggie Beggelton. Not quite sure how he got hurt. But the injury looks bad.

I see the East is back to being dogshit again. Thanks for the help. How in the fancy f**k did we lose the Grey Cup to Nick fing Arbuckle. Unbelievable. The guy is a steaming pile. Makes me sick to think about.

Hate to say this but I pin that loss on the crappy, predictable offence we were running last season (and realistically the other two recent Grey Cup losses).  Our defence didn’t have their best showing on that day for sure, but I’m very glad we have a new O coordinator this year (flame away Buckistans 😂).

Can't ignore roster either...big reason in all the losses...even the one where ZC couldn't move or plant to throw with any effect.. we didn't use Brown we just stuck with ZC...who couldn't run the offence....as we seen with Peterson you have to give guys a chance...cause u never know

Ottawa cut Ethan Jordan.  Not sure if he's planning to go back to school but I'd give him some PR time here.  Huge potential to be a Gittens/Julien-Grant style guy.  Even Demski, would be a good guy to learn some routes from.

Anyone know whether Dru Brown is practicing?  The CFL injury report for Ottawa is blank this week.  My pickems need to know!

He's at the very least a fresh take on the CFL. Which is nice. I've never really liked his NFL stuff he did with TSN. I am kinda liking the fan ranking thing on X. Assuming he's full on trolling and not being serious.

Last week he went on a rant about the "Worst penalty in CFL history" during the MTL vs TO game. And it was pretty obvious he hadn't watch the CFL very much cause, well it was the correct call and even if they had messed it up, there have been far far worse called lol.

jury's still out for me.  if he's gonna be the lapo kind of analyst who uses his football smarts to get inside the game and make the broadcast smarter, then I'm into it.
