It's completely this. He has earned the opportunity to choose his own destiny. Everyone around the league knows he's the absolute top option in the CFL, and would give him whatever the hell he wants.

The current state of the Bombers OL/DL might put a 'pause' on some of those opinions.

2015 TD MB we happened to run into Osh and have a chat and that lifelong Elkskimo/TiCat/Argo won me over. I'm obviously a frothing at the mouth RABID fan of the "Grand Ol Loop" (tm Our Man Tait), and it's rare to meet people with that much passion and knowledge of this league and it's history. Osh is a kindred spirit for me, for sure. If this is the end, I'm hoping to run into him again this week for a chat and a beer.... Thank him for everything.

Perhaps those opinions are Walters has gone to sleep. Sounds like O’Shea is well respected and basically coveted around the league. Teams have coaches but sounds like if they didn’t O’Shea is number 1 on their lists. Regardless of what people who don’t work for pro football teams say. If Argos willing to give him control they obviously believe.

Like I could see Zach to Toronto. I really could.

Based on this season, I don't ZC is much better than Arbuckle.  Arbuckle played some decent ball and is pretty low on the list of Argos' concerns.

Arbuckle is a FA and might follow RD to Ottawa.

I will guarantee they don't. All people see is "Competitive team every single year that went to the GC every year from 2019 to 2024 and one of the greatest Leaders Of Men in league history".... Also: Took a franchise from the depths of hell to a GC in about 5 years. Everyone wants that.

Arbuckle is also signed for next year.

I am not sure who's to blame and I'm not going to pretend I am.  I just think some might think twice and take a closer look, before hiring him.

Based on this season, I think when Zach has a really good OL and receivers to throw to, he can still be elite... When he doesn't have the right tools, Arbuckle certainly looks better.

You might be right, but Father Time is always undefeated.

back in the day when he was an argos coach he did a Q&A thing on cfl.ca.  I asked him how defensive plays are called and whether the D can make audibles based on what they see.  Got a terrific multi-paragraph response back from him.  Definitely got the sense that he cared about doing this tiny nothing gig for some fan on the internet.

I agree of course, to do otherwise would be to revise history. But what happened in 2024 and 2025, leaves me just a bit hesitant.  Some decisions were simply baffling.

My issue with all of that is nobody here has ANY idea who's to blame for any of it...  It's absolutely possible that all the problems are Oshs fault as Booch insists... But we really don't know who's making what decisions. At the end of the day, the biggest problem might be that Osh is giving people too much freedom and he needs to take charge again.

My mistake on Arbuckle. Thought I saw him on the FA list.  Oh well.

I think what happened in 24 25 is complacency. From the entire mafia. Miller Walters and Osh. What they all might need is a swift kick in the ass. Like almost seemed like whatever they did and whoever they played worked tho so I could see complacency kicking in. Almost like they thought maybe we shouldn’t try and be so good anymore. Or let’s see if we can win with lesser players and more Canadian starters even.

Who is to say younger and Mike miller don’t follow Osh to Toronto.

could, though I could see eiben staying and running the D.

Mike Miller?  Is that guy on an OC track?  (I honestly have no idea)

Yeah, he was in discussion last year with us. He has been an oc in the nfl and cfl previously. He was an nfl offensive qc/pass game co another 6+ years.
Miller, coatanza, and jackson are all pretty  close, miller has the most high end experience.

If we got one of costanza/miller to pair with jackson, or both to replace him i’d be pretty happy.

Both pete and mike are exceptional position coaches. Costanza also has the benefit of hacienda been here in the past and is a great fit.

No one making a decision based on logic would look at zach and want to replace arbuckle with him for next year. But the guy who thinks jake and kola are replaceable could do any thing.

Are we all talking about the same Mike Miller.....?

torontos qb coach, not our teams coach.
