Riders at Bombers WF Chat

Man, they're quite cocky over there right now. They played a decent game, nothing scary, we aint BC.

just amazes me that after year and years of the exact same thing from Harris people still hype it up to be this huge thing.... he dinks, he dunks the end.

I know we are struggling a bit on this this part, but it would be a pleasant benefit if this weekend we could get in TH's kitchen on a regular occurrence so his dinking and dunking occurs outside the pocket as he scrambles for his life.

Flush. Him. Out.

Harris has been the better QB this year.

                 GP       Y         Y/G          EFF          TD         INT         COMP%
Harris        12       3264    272         108.4        20           9          72.4
Collaros     18       4336    240           96.3        17         15          70.1

Stats from CFL.CA

Since August 1 (objectively, I believe, when the Bombers' season turned around), I'd say that the two QBs are pretty similar.

Collaros: 204/283=72.1%, Harris: 190/262=72.5%

Collaros:  2613/204=12.8yd/completion, Harris: 2392/190=12.5yd/completion

Collaros: 1TD for every 20.21 passes attempted, Harris: 1TD for every 20.15 passes attempted

Collaros: 1INT for every 40.43 passes attempted, Harris: 1INT for every 43.67 passes attempted

I have no idea how to calculate QB efficiency.

And,

Collaros: 9W - 1L, Harris: 4W - 4L (only played in 8 of 11 SK games since Aug. 1)

I know who I want as my QB on Saturday.

Let's just put advantage Riders for everything listed here and just have our team take care of business this weekend.

Lawler/Demski/Wilson > Emilus/Schaffer-Baker/Johnson

Can you break out the QB data for both from Aug. 1 until season's end? I think that you would know why.

After looking at your breakout, I still say that we don't have much, if any, advantage at QB.

BTW: Wins is a team stat, not a QB stat.

Holy hyperbole 17! Harris is what he is and that gets the job done a lot of the time. That's hardly hyping him or a huge thing.

I'd give advantage to the Riders on DL....soley based on what we doing with ours....which I think is a bit flawed and the fact we will give Thomas and Schmeck reps

DB's....Easily us as we had best unit in league all yr...even with alltime CFL Great Milligan....Prob the worst overall unit in the CFL

LB's a wash....but I think we have more versatility with ours

Punter....Riders....Place Kicker.....Us

QB's....close....but I going with who has got it done before even if they were not lights out...ZC has won...Trevor Harris has not

I Give us the RB edge, easy decision there

I also think we have the edge in the WR's....Sask has some pieces, but I don't really see a game changer/difference maker...Any team with a Lawler...has that...and you also have a proven Demski riding shotgun....I'd go with that....and tho we havnt seen a lot of use with him...I see Lucky being key in some offensive reps

O-line...this is a close call....based on how we have never really seemed to have got any sustained cohesion...but save for Wallace and Lofton...these guys have all slugged it out in playoff football and know what it takes

We have the kick cover advantage...Sask has the return advantage....but again...If Lucky is 100 percent...and on his game it could also be a wash

Our coaching staff trumps the Riders....on many levels.....and hopefully their experience and been there done that...and hopefully learned that....carries us over the top

Home crowd...2 weeks prep....record off a bye....biggest game of the yr....I'd be shocked we blow it

any team with a Lawler...in a big game has to have the advantage.....plus you also have Demski who shows up come playoffs too...

60% of the time it works every time.

Harris is the modern day Kevin Glenn. Not bad, but always leaves you wanting more.

What don't you understand about what I wrote? "I'd say that the two QBs are pretty similar."

And yes, Ws are a "team" statistic. Having said that, is a QB going to get that 70+% completion rate without receivers, an O-line and blocking back?

You are the most....obtuse poster on this forum. IMO.

I'm interest to understand your thoughts on this. Because I just don't see it. They have no one on Lawlers level. And stats wise...Bombers have 2 1000yrd rec. They have 1.

This is probably my biggest thing... If ZC8 doesn't throw a pick, I'm confident in a win...

Our guys have played well below their standards this year. Especially lawler who is hit or miss, and Demski who is no longer used in multi dimensional ways. Wilson does his job, but I don’t see any thing outstanding with him.

Fact is Demski is prone to fumbling especially at bad times. King Kenny lawler showed up for less than a handful of games this year.
The riders gave a good edge at wr in terms of size and physicality.

I don’t want their wr core, but I see them with a bit of an edge.

Go spam your comedy act elsewhere! This is a football fan site!

I dunno guys, like I said earlier, more nervous about this final then others in previous past.   The last two Bomber games remind me of how bad they started and it seems to be creeping up again now.  The fact that we're playing the melon heads adds to the nervousness.    The thought of losing to these asshats really doesn't sit well with me.

We'll see what happens come game time.   To me, this game comes down to the offence.  We need to execute in the red zone.  No more trading FG's for TD's.

CFL just released their head to head matchups.  Pretty close to your assessment, except where you had no advantage, they of course gave it to Saskatchewan.  And DBs they gave to Sask.  Mostly I'm assuming because of Milligan.  Which I think is wrong.  Our DBs overall are stronger.

Prefer your assessment.

Lets give sasky all the advantages and awards while we drag them all over the field this weekend and welcome TH's parents to BC the following weekend.
