GDT 3 pm: Victory Day

Any day in Regina is a good day to win, even with all our rookies out in full force. It’s all a matter of pride.

Today I want to watch (through my radio) three things:

Eric Barrierre at quarterback. I want to see if his credentials have anything to do with the Bomber’s future. I fully expect we will have four QB’s kicking around at season open. He might become the new “lady in waiting”!

Chidi Okeke at right tackle. I want to see if he’s the new apprentice that we are hoping for, that might be a key cog in our Hog Heaven. I expect In a better we will be starting Lofton at RT as the season starts.

Our linebacker schemes. I’m assuming Kyrie Wilson will be one of the two middle linebackers in a basic 4=4=4 defensive structure. Outside of Gauther, I want to see who/what else we can put in those middle two spots. Are they going to take a peek at Brandon Alexander there,  or is he just too small? This is the one place that we look just too skinny. This is THE one big challenge for our new defensive coordinator, methinks...

I don’t care how much the coaches say it doesn’t matter who wins. To me it matters, kind of a lot. Beating the Roughie’s will set the tone not only for our rookies, but for our vets at home too. Preseason does matter for a lot more than just player evaluation.

Lawson and fox have been real good inside. Habba had a nice play. Our ends and backers got washed out and trapped on the wrong side of two plays soo far. Petrishen has made a couple stops so far and been in on the back end of every play.

Our middle will be solid if they are taking 80 percent of reps

I'm just glad we have a lead playing the Riders and an entire team that has had a great camp. Especially with some many weapons and the genius OC they have.

Petrishen is 55 Moses 00 Thomas 27 gemmel 48 Cole 41

hackett and gemmel with the hit on that one

I've never heard of a camp with so many exceptional performances...

It’s the Riders … bending down to get their shoes on without crapping their pants is exceptional to them 😜

Garbutt face was almost ripped off with his helmet

Who is #9 at de? Has been pretty noticeable. Getting extremely close to making some big plays.

Edit: Garbutt

Yeah. He’s shown some impressive surge. Should’ve drawn a holding call too.

Not sure that baker catch wasn’t a fumble after considering he got back up and attempted to run.

Ya, he got up clean after the catch and then had the ball stripped. Shouldve been Bombers ball.

Agreed. Schmekel has made some plays.

He's a guy last yr from watching practice was out best overall end with his skill next to WJ..he gets off the ball so fast and his first moves are quick...but we had Jackson and Bennett so we good

i never expected to say this but Schmekel has looked not bad

Schmekel looks lighter and quicker. Not pushing the pile but he’s active and tough. Might be better than what Jake has left at this point.
