2022 Off Season - Back 2 Back Champs Edition

So, looking ahead....what's our off season going to look like? Coaches and GM all still under contract, right? Players? Who's going to the NFL? Who do we think might bolt in FA? Pieces that we'd like to see the WBB pick up in FA?

Yeah, I was really surprised that McGuire wasn't there.  It's not like he wasn't part of the team, he was on the field a few times in the Grey Cup.

He may have had family commitments or something and needed to leave.

Got me wondering why only 1 of the 3 QB's was at last nights function? Perhaps the end of season discussions has something to do with it?

A few guys already went home.

He has a young child at home, I believe they were here this season.

Do we need a CFL Offseason thread or can this be both Bombers and the rest?

Interesting, does Harris stay? or does he have a new home?

He's still under contract, right? I bet they cut him. Can't keep two starters salaries, IMO.

Considering Trevor Harris imo has officially entered the Jonathan Jennings category I think you're on to something here.

If he does get cut, I wonder if Maas tries to talk him into coming to the Riders to back-up CF? I feel like their relationship didn't end on a high note though, correct?

I could see that happening, a two (2) QB system in Regina. Remember, Grey Cup in Saskatchewan, we know how they worked with the salary cap when they last hosted....

The players are tight to get home for Christmas. If they get a positive test before they get on the plane, they are stuck here, so I don't blame some for getting ahead of it.

Just my observation on our QB's and what all u are saying, is possible/probable

It's close to Christmas... I'm sure some guys wanted to get home ASAP... I wouldn't read too much into it

I would go Harris over CF

A 36 yo QB on the downswing?

H

This sounds like an epitaph.

I would be surprised if they didn't bring him back, unless they lost complete confidence in him. I still expect him to compete for the back-up spot.

Montreal, coming out of the starting blocks this morning... Adams & Lewis good signings for them!!!

So Fajardo is making $515,000 next season. How do you afford Harris too, even if he's say at $250,000 with incentives (which would be a large cut)? Can't see Harris taking a deal for $100,000 or so unless he is desparate.

Teams are beginning to do their early player signings this week, which has people like us into the CFL. This is great!!!

The past few seasons, right after the Grey Cup (December/early Jan) the GM's & coaching positions are addressed (unless you are Chris Jones).  What I'm waiting for is the GM announcements/movements plus coaching hires throughout the league...

Imagine going all in on Cody Fajardo...

I don't think us fans truly appreciate the sacrifice some of the American players make when they leave their families to come up here.  Look at Houston #35 as an example. And the total solid our team did for him.  But my point is the huge sacrifice some make to come here for 4-5 months away from their families. No judgement from me if they go home right away. And now with all this increasing covid crap, who can blame them??
