Suckskatchewan @ Champs PGT

Opponent unknown, but the Bombers will host the Western Final for the first time in 49 years.

Can Harris come back?
I'm assuming McGuire dresses behind Collaros?
Who's in/who's out?

Long, long range weather (as of November 22): High -3, feels like -9. Wind 21.

(as of November 24): High -11, feels like -18. Wind 26.

(as of November 26): High -5, feels like -10. Wind 18, gusting 27.

(as of November 29): High -9, feels like -14, Wind 14, gusting 24.

(as of December 1): High -7, feels like -12, Wind 20, gusting 30.

(as of December 3): High -5, feels like -12, Wind 33, gusting 50.  This is interesting, the wind has picked up SIGNIFICANTLY, to the point that I don't even think the kicking game is going to matter. But, the high on Monday is -22, which tells me it's likely the temperature will get much colder prior to or during the game. The weather is definitely going to be a factor but we're still too far out to see what the full impact will be. It's going to be fun.

  • hey - Andrew Harris is back - we've all moved on.....

  • Interesting that Harris is listed as “Guaranteed To Dominate”… seems a little arrogant but I can’t really disagree!

  • Watching the Rider fans cry is so euphoric to me. Rider_Stronson over there having a meltdown, you love to see it. We handed them the game multiple times and they couldn’t take it. **** em, so gl

Can't agree with you more... West Side SUCKS!!!!!

damn, I shoulda researched this more before I bought 'em...ha ha ha ha. God willing and the creek don't rise, the day comes that I get to buy season tickets again, I'll make sure to check in here and see what the consensus is first! :)

I don't care who we face and I don't just want a win I want an absolute clown pounding we are talking players on the other team with tears in their eyes in the first half, total destruction so at the end of the game I can hear from both players and fans of which ever team that we never had a chance we were never in this

So the west side are the corporate Leaf fans, and the east side are……..Rider fans?

Which side would you rather be?

For what it is worth. I have heard from legit weather people that anything predicted beyond 3 days is largely useless.

I can confirm,  I worked with Environment Canada and the long term forecast (14 day) is mostly a joke.

Yup, id love nothing more than a 34-0 lead at the half and just spend the second half enjoying the atmosphere while pounding bevies with the boys!

As if they let the plebs into the Pinnacle Club.  They put the Rum Hut on the cool side, anyhow.

Question:  What is the best possible outcome of a Blue Bomber Western Final?

Answer: To crush our enemies, to see them driven before us, and to hear the lamentations of their women.

I am pretty sure that if you freeze-frame that interview at half time of the 2019 Grey Cup of Dane Evans, you can see some tears in his eyes.  You can definitely see fear, lots and lots of fear.

Still remember in the 1980's we'd start the wave on the East side, see it pick up momentum in the north end zone, only to see it die a horrible death as it wound its way to the 55 on the West side.  At which point there would be an uproarious and long winded chant WEST SIDE SUCKS for the rest of the game.  If by that point we were already up by 30 points, which in the 1980's at home we usually were.

Does the West side have free pizza?

My seats are near the Little Pizza Heaven area with the recliner seats and the (I assume) LPH owners have been handing out a ton of pizza to the sections around them, every game this season.

That’s because the dumb east siders always start the wave when the Bomber offence is on the field. And the drunken north end Rum Hut guys are too busy trying to hook up with the ladies to watch the game.

Given I was in my adolescence at the time I guess I didn't notice these things.  But I did notice that everyone around me seemed to get "happier" as the game went on.  Big Jack Skelly also helped with the mood on the East Side as well.  What a legend that guy was.

I was born and raised as an east sider at the old stadium. Did a couple of years on the east at the new barn, but switched sides when I landed front row upper deck seats on the 50 yard line. Also, no sun in my eyes now. Probably pretty typical of fans as they age to move to the quiet side I suspect. But I wish I could get the “Gimme a B! Gimme and O!” chant going up then now like Jack did back then. I have the lungs for it, but doubt I could get the whole side to jump in like he could. Was amazing to hear.

Not much exists online of the memory of Jack Skelly. I can't be the only one who remembers that guy, who entertained us for so many years on the East side.  "Gimme a B!!!" was his call to start us off, and then we'd sound out the entire "Bombers" as thousands of "East Side low income scum" as the West Siders thought of us would respond in unison.  It was magic.

Here's the only thing I can find online:

Jack had many interests, mostly his obsession for football, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (east side) and the struggling Vikings. Jacks zest for life was contagious. His ability to make people laugh was uncanny even if it was at his own expense, making him the focal point of most gatherings. Words cannot express the love and joy he brought to everyone around him. He was a wonderful role model and he will be sadly missed by all. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 10 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Burton Cummings Theatre, 364 Smith with service at 8:00 p.m. Private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Jack to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or the Canadian Diabetes Association, Manitoba Division. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the family, friends and neighbours for all their loving care and support given to Jack and his family. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 LAGIMODIERE BLVD. 982-7550
