Don't we all want a Milt/Arland Bruce combo at SB?

So Judge had 61 tackles, 11 special team tackles, 2 Int and 5 Sacks in 2019. Jordan Herdman Reed had 37 tackles, 8 special teams tackles, 0 Ints and 1 Sack Justin Herdman Reed had 37 tackles

  • Bowman will sign in Saskatchewan and we will then have fun reading about how great he is.

McCallister and Kongbo are both DE's too. I like Kongbo to be resigned too. McCallister did not accept a PR spot before so you never know if he leaves again if he doesn't crack the lineup.

But again, we have enough DE's already but we need an established DT.

Exactly, that was my thought/suggestion that I had with a pair of Cdn Interior guys  and the rotation idea.. The strength of our Defense is the DE's we have, plus maintaining an Import Linebacker group and Secondary...

All I know is that TSN is obessed with Hughes and over the last 5 years on both teams he played for they continously would show his stupid mug shot and would fawn over him at all times.    They'll die if he doesn't sign somewhere.

In b4 next analyst for them lol

Sewell is out of Edmonton

Want to stay in the West division. I want Walters to get that big fish.

I'm drooling when I imagine a D-Line with Jefferson, Jeffcoat and Sewell on it. 🤤

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this in any thread but according to 3DN, and Burnham himself, the Bombers went hard and heavy after him and things got interesting before BC smartened up and gave him the money he wanted. Seems to me we might be players in FA after all.

I would expect one of Nevis, Johnson, Richardson or Sewell will be a Bombers

I didn't even know McAlister was back. He's a stud.

So you're saying there was a chance?

They fawn all over the Riders fanbase. I miss CFL football but I don't miss Rod Black or Glen Suitor.

Not much left for receivers.

Yep.

I wonder if they can bring in Winnipeg boy TJ Jones. What was the problem on his contract with the Argos before?

Sewell would be a nice add......however he sounded like he was giving a change of job/life kind of goodbye...I hope he stays in football and we can sign him...What an awesome D line we'd have if he came on board

Thought we were kicking the tires on Burnham BUT all for not....Most likely Walters bailed early when he could see we were most likely a pawn in the money game...Burnham playing both ends against the middle

His deal with Toronto was for $200k but he's classified as a rookie under the current CBA so he can only make the rookie max ($80k).  He's not willing to play for that amount so it's doubtful we ever see him up here.

Can we start a gofundme for him ? 😁

Is he still classified as a rookie if he was under contract last season?

The league needs to make an exception for players who are not eligable for rookie of the year in the CFL.  I mean they can't compete for rookie of the year bonus money but they have to earn rookie money.

I'm not sure if it's the teams or the players that want the rookie cap.

His contract was never registered with the league so yes he's still a rookie.

Cross Nevis off the list, he re-signed with the Argos.

We could always sign him as a rookie and then he could also pursue his dream of working alongside Adam Bighill in the off season as a financial advisor making a few extra bucks  on the side :)

Argos signing a lot of high-profiles guys are we sure that they the have the same cap as the rest of the league?

The comment was in response to the talk of DEs and how we dont need another. Yeah Mccallister left then came back and stayed on it then resigned and i believe is currently under contract with us. But you never know and thats true of all fringe american players.

With richardson and jake I dont think we need another veteran DT. Not to mention our ability to turn up DTs the past several years has been insane. We had 4 really strong DTs vying for the 2 jobs last TC.  And I honestly dont think you couldve made a bad choice between that group. I fully believe that will continue as it has along the entire DL.  I firmly believe that Mc'c wouldve started for atleast half the league last season.

We also dont use our DTs like most teams do. We arent a big pressure package team, or a proficient blitzing team. Most of the sacks that have come from our interior line under the Hall era have been the OL blowing assignments, or our tackles just monstering some one. They play a lot of gap cancellation, they run twists to occupy lanes or eat up blockers to free up our ends.

I dont think a guy who is used to getting to pass rush out of the inside position a lot, or play straight up will want to come into play a nose role a good portion of the time.  Along with finding tremendous athletes with great work ethic inside, the role position is easier to fill then finding a guy who is consistently a pass rush force from the inside.

If we are gonna get an established league vet at a position this year Id think qb, wr or lber would be the spot to do it. Though I dont see us getting a veteran qb.
