  • Nichols wasn’t the reason we lost 2 playoff games with him at QB; 2017 - 35 out of 48 attempts. 72.92% for 371 yards 3 TDs 0 ints. 2016 - 26 of 40 attempts  65% for 390 yards 2 TDs 0 ints

  • I don't necessarily think either one of them is a "big time" receiver, but they'd certainly be an upgrade. When you got a group of 7s, you don't pass up an 8 because you're looking for a 10.

Apparently Ottawa has picked up Chris Ackie from Montreal.

Probably hoping to resign him in the off-season... but yeah he just traded a 4th overall pick that has developed into a starter for a 2nd rounder.  Makes you go hmm.

Receiver is Joshua Stanford pick is a second rounder.

Ackie is a free agent after this season so  maybe Kavis knew he wasn't coming back (who would blame him!) and tried to get something while he could.

That seems like a good trade for the Riders. Are both Lavoie and Blake pending FAs?

Everyone getting better but us ... so far

and sadly....totally not a surprise...our management has no kajonies

Blake signed a new 2 year deal in February  As far as I can tell, Lavoie is a pending FA (signed a 3 year deal with Ottawa in 2015).

I seriously don't see anyone available that would make a huge difference to the bombers - not sure I want Jackson at 32 or SJ Green...  we already have Dressler

Maybe Stef Logan or Chris Rainey....?

I'm skeptical - don't see a deal out there...

Interesting that you're questioning Jackson at 32, but suggesting Stef Logan since he's 38 (though he doesn't necessarily play like it).

Logan is a KR/PR specialist - has about 3-6 touches a game... Ernest Jackson would be an every down receiver

I'd actually prefer Rainey... but I think one of them with Fogg as our return pairing would be a game changer.

I don't see EJ making a huge difference over Thompkins.

WTF is Kavis doing...

Phillip Blake/Patrick Lavoie for WR Josh Stanford and a 2nd???

That's ridiculous.

No way the Lions move Rainey. They're still in the hunt.

Crickets. Big surprise.

Lack of impact and depth at receiver will be a huge reason we fall short again this year.

Concussed SJ Green > Thompkins

well they gotta restock their picks...and Blake is an aging o-lineman who isn't what he was...so basically if he slots into their lineup he becomes an average player...replacing and average player...not sure the benefits of this trade really for Sask...Lavoi basically is what Moore is/does for them...

Not that the silence today was a make it or break it scenario, but disappointing to know we’re not going to be good enough to win ... again.

Just about over Walters, etc. Our roster at the beginning of the year wasn’t good enough, but **** it, let’s not bother trying to make it better right? All year. Same ****.

SJ Green would've been a solid rental. He's always clutch in the post-season.

32 isn't exactly old in OL terms.... he's one of Montreal's younger OL ha

Sask got a very good OL for the next 2 maybe 4 years...

Blake is not the weak point on that OL - not his fault they tried to force him at LT - Matte and LBJ are done...

HAM signs former rec Terrell Sinkfield.  Nice.

Well we would not want to wake up Mr. Walters from his afternoon nap would we?

All this talk about acquiring receivers...... some of them deep threat receivers......has Matt figured out the long ball enough for the Bombers to spend more dollars on receivers who would be standing 20+ yards downfield every attempt ?
