If the situation is anything other than what you may have been led to believe, then it is better to get out before you get in too deep. I hope it's not true, but I don't see how suddenly a day into the NFL season there's interest in a 29 year old pensioned, high min salary guy who's been out of the league for two years. What would he and his agent have expected signing with a 1-8 team? Until I see something concrete that proves the official line is not true, I'll chalk it up to potential NFL interest.
