I think he’s having a pretty good game. On pace for 300 yards and most importantly no turnovers, they’re clearly trying to get rid of the ball quick to keep him upright.

If Packers like him but Carney & Trump don't get a trade deal this week, then Packers might have to pay an extra 35% tariff on Elgersma's contract (since he is imported from Canada) of $294,350  So that could be a factor as to whether they keep him around.

Surely with Kody Case out, they will dress Dillon Mitchell

I don't really think we have that major of an issue at receiver.   Wheatfall has shown he can make the big plays ,  Demski has shown he can do what he's always does,  Clercius is physical and an improvement over previous NI,  and as much as people hate on Sterns he has made 13 receptions on 16 targets and isn't dropping balls or doing anything bad at all.  
From my non coach eyes the issues on our passing game has come to careless deep balls that are more 40/60 then 50/50 balls where Zach is tossing it into double or triple coverage forcing our receiver to either make an insane catch or at least fight the defender to knock the ball away.   In the before time it seemed like he would be doing this in one on one battles where a guy like Schoen/Lawler who are above average can win these battles on a regular basis.  I don't mind them going deep when needed... but in a close game with plenty of time left I don't understand the hope and a prayer deep bomb.

Yup I think you're onto something here.
Right now with what we got we need to control the line of scrimmage, establish the run to open up the playbook, give ZC that extra steamboat to minimize him forcing it to Demski and minimizing him lobbing it up for hopes and prayers.

Let’s offset any worry we have with our receiving core/QB with BO bulldozing his way thru the Stumps D making them nice and soft. Control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and good things usually happen. 

Shocked, but happy to see Person added to the roster.  I hope he gets a good chunk of snaps to see what he can do.

It's not like they paid Schoen huge money. 
Lawler is lighting it up for huge money right now. It's a long season, we'll see if he's worth the money in the long-term. 

Lawler is what he is - his game hasn't changed.  What has changed is he has a QB (and an offense) that can feed him the ball.

This site is getting dangerously close to unreadable on a daily basis. We've been losing regular contributors because of it, which is a shame... Feels like the Jim Daley/Tim Burke/Lapo era of darkness based on some of the posts, and not an unmatched generational winning streak on and off the field...

I believe we can get better pressure with better rotation. We need another actual DE on the roster. Looking at the forecast 24C 90% chance of rain and wildfire air advisories.....if we are under 8 and even able to play, it will be Smokey and humid, guys will will need rotation on Friday.

If you're going to rush 5 or more, DB's should be pressing and not sitting 15 yards downfield.  You're down by 23.  You need to get the ball.

D needs to get on the same page in coverage.  Way too easy to run mesh on us and have a guy wide open.  Whoever is making the wrong reads should sit this half.
