    1. Streveler - Bad start, tossing 3 shoulda been picks, but got away with it and went on to look like a real QB.

    2. Peterson - Welcome to the CFL, now replace the MOP and get 100+ yards.

3.Demski - Caught the first TD on his fingertips giving Streveler the confidence he needed.

HH Vaval - Flipped the field over and over.

    Totally agree with your take....

I'll add our new OC Hogan, and the 32,000 fans who did their best to ruin Rourke's day.

  2. A little off -topic but...Has anyone driven on Abinoji east and then tried to get onto Pembina going south towards the stadium?? If not, you're in for an adventure in frustration at all the construction awaiting you on Pembina. The Pembina bridge roadway is torn up, pylons everywhere, and several lanes are closed.

Thinking maybe the south Perimeter to avoid this?? construction east of the red river bridge and lane closures both directions.

I think Streveler might be in trouble.  At his size Elgersma can fill the role of short yardage QB for this season and that gives us a significant cap savings vs one of our american vets. So Streveler is going to have to demonstrate he's the best option at QB1 if Zach goes down. Personally, I think Patterson is a better passer than Streveler. And then there's the injury history of Streveler. If he get injured again then it's basically just Zach and the canadian kid and whatever is available on the free agent market at the time.  I imagine they might consider healthy scratching Elgersma this season unless needed or sending him back to college for more seasoning after getting a training camp under his belt. But, i just don't think they drafted him not to have him on the roster this season.  Thoughts?

I hope you're wrong about Streveler, but it does seem that one of the major camp battles is clearly going to be at the QB position.

Sorry this still kills me. And I know its apples to oranges but the god damn Eagles are in the super bowl with the best rb this year. Everyone knows they're gonna run, and yet they do it anyway and win. We had the best God damn rb in the league and rather than just say we win or lose, feed him, the excuse was "they'll just jam the box". Well ******* let them. Better that than asking a qb to do something he's never done while injured

Okay... I needed that off my chest.

    Correct.

Streveler runs an option package well, not a QB sneak or wedge.

This is his value as a pro player.  He's a specialist, he can play a role, and he can step in to win a game or two.  He's not a guy who can live in the pocket either.

Have to hope he's physically intact and has some durability left to play that role.

Need a QB who can run a full CFL passing offense around too just in case there's a longer-term need.

From what I've seen on instagram Chris looks very good, and his rehab has gone quite well. He was doing box jumps the other day, considerably higher than I can! ( I can do a 3 foot box jump on a good day! )

Bighill signing here after coming back from the NFL was nothing short of HUGE! He's been nothing but an amazing leader on and off the field. His involvement in amateur football makes waves with kids everytime he's around. I can't thank that guy enough for his play. And his influence off the field will be felt for a long long time. Whether he realizes it or not.

"That's Adam Bighill" heard weekly at U of W by children being introduced to the sport. The guy is a legend.

Totally agree with this. Yes it's a loss to the team, but time marches on and it's caught up with him. CFL HOF is awaiting his arrival, and I hope it's in blue & gold.

Just wanted to say kudos to the East side fans that noticed, and ripped on Armstead for choosing not to stand for the moment of silence or the national anthem.

I don't care who you play for that is incredibly disrespectful to the league, veterans and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

That's brutal. Another demonstration of the type of person the Riders seem to like.We had a couple of 25 year olds sitting beside wife and I early in the season. both didn't stand for the anthem. I expressed my thought to them about this. Might've used a few bad words.

  8. I watched the Sask/BC game and was surprised/shocked at how poorly BC's secondary played. They just didn't seem very engaged. I think the crowd noise in Sask really affected BC's offence. Early in the season BC looked like they were going to run away with the cup, and man, whatta epic collapse. Shoulda picked Sask dammit!

So my early thoughts are that we will have our crowd noise, and we ain't BC.Our secondary is way better than what BC displayed yesterday. Game will be close.

  9. I'm in the group of not very confident. Yes we've been winning, and yes we got jobbed in the Argo game, but I'm worried. I felt like we were playing a rather vanilla offensive game yesterday, and BTW is there anyone who doesn't know that we're throwing to 89 when we need a play?? Maybe we're saving some fancy plays for the playoffs, but we just gotta be better. And I agree that we gotta do something with the D line.

I like to rag on Sheehan...I'll use his name and not punter for this but lost in the win on that winning field goal was him coralling that low bad snap that hit the turf in front of him and getting it pinned to not screw Castillos timing on the kick...huge play

He will now be punter again until he amazes with punts

That was a solid play from the Aussi.
