Call Nichols a ham and egger.  That's the easiest way to fit in round here.

This is really a hard game to predict an outcome. Naturally Rider fans are going to say the Riders will win and Bomber fans are going to say The Bombers are going to win.. (for the most part anyways). Truthfully, I have no idea how this game will turn out, Bombers are hot, no doubt about it, and the team is playing with confidence. The Riders on the other hand, are what I believe to be a much improved team than what they were at the beginning of the season, and while not on a streak like the Bombers are, do have a couple of confidence building wins and hopefully take that onto the field Sunday. (just not over confident lol)
I think each team has certain advantages over the other.. you guys have a better qb in my opinion, and at this point of the season, I think our defense is playing a little better than yours. That being said, the guys in your secondary are pretty quick to the ball when it's thrown. Is home field an advantage for us? I would say probably, even though you guys took the first game from us at Mosiac. I'm pretty sure it will be loud and the noise will cause a few mistakes for Nichols. Might just come down to who want's it most lol. Regardless of the outcome, looks like it's going to be a good couple of weekends of spewing mud back and forth.

Never ceases to amaze me when a 'Rider troll posts here, and some Bomber fans get all indignant and take the bait like:

Coates did an awesome job filling in; to be honest JFG and Coates both seem to be larger impacts than Kholert was.  Not that Kohlert was terrible I just mean we did upgrade that Canadian spot which is awesome

There is no rationale for spending the millions required to mandate full time officials, and in the process lose some of the best officials we have already.  The overall officiating is good in the CFL.  The understanding of the rules by the media (especially) and the fans is terrible.  Whenever I hear a commentator analyze a DPI on whether the defender turned his head or whether there was contact at 5 yards, or whether a defender's hand contacted the QB's helmet, it makes me want to scream.  If you are paid to speak about the game, the least you should do is understand the actual rules.
If you have to slow down a play to the point of going frame to frame to determine a challenge, then the onfield decision should never be overturned.  And if the rule calls for an official to make a judgement call (ex:  uncatchable ball) then that cannot be reviewed - otherwise, it is not a judgement.
If you do not like a rule, then that is discussion for the offseason (ex: contacting a receiver away from the play).  Officials have to officiate the games according to the rules.  And the rules shouldn't change during the season.
The officials are human and will make mistakes and errors in judgement, but so does everyone else playing and coaching the game.
If you think the CFL officials are so bad, try watching every other major professional sport.

I think I've literally just about had it with internet Rider fans. There are quite a number of them (CalgaryRiderFan, Beacon.x, Bingo_Arms, Huff Daddy and several others whose names just elude me right now) that are tolerable, awesome guys to talk football with but man, the majority of people over at Riderfans.com are the biggest bunch of deluded dumb as a post mouth breathers I've ever encountered. It's a shame, because every year I go to Regina for every single away game we have there, the people that I meet are awesome. It's a great city to go watch a game and the fans that are invested in supporting the Riders are great to be around.
But that website is a cesspool of stupidity. The stuff I've read on that site is some of the most ridiculous nonsense I've ever imagined. Very few people on there have any clue about football as it relates to anything outside their province and trying to use any kind of reasoning with them is like talking to a doorknob. Wake up and smell the coffee, Rider fans. Your team is the worst team in the CFL, your coach is the laughing stock of the entire league and your GM somehow manages to have no clue what your head coach and defensive coordinator and media recruiting coordinator are doing, despite them all being the same person. You're using the last wear on the tires of old broken down pieces like Kevin Glenn, Jovon Johnson and Peter Dyakowski. Your coach can't stop fetishizing about the kudos he'll get if FINALLY he manages to turn a fullback into a defensive back or a tackle into a receiver and it affects the quality of your roster from top to bottom. You scout and house somewhere in the neighborhood of 300 players, yet can't find a single guy to play defensive back and somehow have to settle for convincing yourselves that Ed Gainey is serviceable. Maybe AC Leonard will stop going offside. Maybe Brenden Labatte won't get hurt for the 47th time. Maybe Henoc Muamba will stop being too fat. Maybe Duron Carter will keep his trap shut for once. Maybe Linden Gaydosh is duct taped together well enough to hold up for 3 or 4 games. Maybe Jordan Reaves will stop dealing cocaine. And maybe if all of that happens, you might have enough of a football team to piece together 7 or 8 wins this year.
Until then, know your place, shut up and enjoy the basement. I can't wait until we stomp these guys on Saturday.

Yeah it has been down for a bit; I thought maybe on their main website they would mention something or at least redirect the domain to an upgrade in progress page or something to make users aware that it is going to be an extended period of downtime.

Things didn't go his way, so he's losing his mind.
They've made a decision to go to a more traditional middle linebacker instead of two WIL specialists, so Bass is gone. He's a great player, not a good fit for what they're trying to do. I respect their decision to go in a different direction and the reality is, it's going to give us some savings as well.
Burnett is solid, he should be a great player but he also reminds me of a guy like Alex Hoffman-Ellis in the sense that he's a great teams guy with potential to fit into a starting job - still has to get there and he wasn't going to get it here.
Those are the two big losses.
Now you look at what we added and the big one for me is Drake Nevis. I've been a huge fan of this guy ever since he started terrorizing offensive lines last year. Just so that there's no accusations of that "he's a Bomber now so you think he's great" bias coming from any Rider fans, here's what I said about Nevis last July:
And I believe it. He's got the ability to be an elite defensive tackle in the CFL. If you had asked me prior to free agency who I'd want between Micah Johnson and Drake Nevis, it's Nevis all day every day and we got him for 35k less than Micah Johnson. Hodge thinks we overpaid? On what basis?
Nevis' impact on our D can't be overstated. Cummings, while a very good player, was not an every down defensive tackle for us. Nevis will play a heavy majority of the snaps. He's a dominant run stopper and for a defensive tackle, he's got some serious pass rushing abilities. There was a club move he laid on Chungh last year that was one of the most dominant snaps from a DT I saw all year. And he'll do that all game. We're going to be a much tougher team in the trenches. High energy, high motor, wear-you-down kind of guy. Exactly what we needed.
Then there's Okpalaugo. Solid, solid rush end. If he can come back without skipping a beat, he's going to be exactly what we need on the other side opposite Westerman, because now all of a sudden, you can't just scheme away from our strength. 25 sacks in two seasons tells you all you need to know, this guy is going to get after the quarterback.

I'm happy with what we've done so far.

Yeah; I've never had data concerns with CJOB it's always been excellent on data; their stream isn't a very high bitrate and it doesn't need to be since it's just him talking really.  I'll be listening to the game while I do my school work this weekend.

I agree, to be honest those receivers were causing issues.  Causing fights on Practices, being unsupportive and unproductive on the field. If they were productive on the field (ie Carter) they were taking poor penalties; or causing other issues.  Need to realize this is a game for men and not boys; there is a certain way someone must carry themselves when they become a man.  The problem was that even though they should be men, they were still acting like boys.
