  1. If the prices go down enough I might drive out to Calgary to catch the game. They'd have to come down enough to endure the weather and the shitty stadium though
  2. Disappointed that we are not wearing the royals; I don't understand why we would wear the whites >.< I'm not a superstitious person, but I do think switching the jerseys can mess up a rushed QB trying to get rid of a ball and not get sacked
  3. I feel this is going to be a difficult game and if our special teams give up the same field position to Bo Levi Mitchell as they did to Bridge in the last game we will be in trouble. We need to ensure we lock down our special teams, especially on kick off and punt returns, so that we can give our defense a chance and in turn give better field position to our offense. We can't plan on outscoring their team if we are consistently losing the field position battle.
  4. Even though Ambrosie has come out and said there should have been a call, I would love someone to post a review of the hit with Jeffcoat leading with his head. I had to watch it in real time and when they showed the refcam view where the ref was blocked it also looked as though Jeffcoat was leading with his shoulder and that their shoulders first collided and then you can't see what happens afterwards but I am assuming that is when the head contact took place. Either case; we had a couple iffy calls that gave the Riders a TD so I don't think missing that call changes the out come of the game because then we would also just complain about the other two calls that allowed the riders to be so close anyways.
  5. I don't consider that challenge a waste, I feel those are the types of misses the challenges are made for. Not for fishing calls on last ditch effort throws at the end of the game. I think we are all so accustomed to seeing them used on bullshit iffy stuff where you never know which way it can go, that when we see an obviously blatant missed call that the challenge gets used on we feel it was a waste. In this game it worked perfect, he used the challenge on that call and it got turned into points, there was no other opportunity later to benefit sask to use a challenge. So it worked out exactly as it should.
  6. For sure, I mean on paper the Bombers team are ahead in nearly every category or right up there but in reality we lose games we should win because of some innocuous happenings. So I say it's a toss up! I look forward to the playoffs and hopefully not being a one and done team this year
  7. I agree that this weeks match-up against Calgary is typically a poor match for our team, however, I honestly believe that we will go in and win this game to clinch a play off spot this year. I also expect after clinching that we will win a playoff game as well and then see what happens from there. I like our odds better in the west than in the east at this moment.
  8. I actually said that in a different way, knowing that we have a game against Edmonton, means that for us to tie Edmonton we would have to lose both our games. Which would give Edmonton the season series, thus we need to win one more game to be in. Basically, I was implying that Edmonton has the series with us if we tie, as the only way to tie is to lose to them to give them the series.
  9. We aren't for sure, we need one more win to secure playoffs otherwise we are out. Edmonton has the season series with us and will go to the play offs if we end up tied.
  10. Wouldn't we focus on RB/RECEIVER/DLINE almost in that order this time around given our current teams philosophy of managing Canadian talent?
  11. You are probably right on that, it's more a two year deal turned into three to account for the fact this season is almost over. The good thing is we get two years and if they go well I bet we get more. Hopefully he lives up to expectations.
  12. Sucks to sign during this year though, would have preferred next year to get to 2021 instead of 2020 Still awesome signing! Also gives some depth for the stretch run if required. So who has to be released now that we've added one to our roster?
  13. If I recall there were two games we were up and lost in the final three minutes this year that had we just played for a full sixty minutes we would have won.
  14. I also agree, this used to be my primary site for bomber news and information. Including interesting blog like posts by people like do or die, big blue, and great insight from others like Mike. I also always enjoyed Noellers and 17to85 whit and Tobe honest found Nasty Nate to be entertaining. Now we have maybe three threads and I just don't have the interest of going through the long threads or as others have said missed out on the conversation. A discussion forum should be setup in a way to promote discussion, however, we have really tried to limit the number of discussions on this board. To be honest the off season thread has merit, so does the in season moves, etc. But why limit discussions to only those threads, I want to know how practice is going, I want the insight from those who know about DB play to rate our DBs. Hell, I even like reading about moves of other teams that might affect us, is edmonton starting a bunch of backups? How are their replacements, what matchups will be interesting? All of that is interesting and worth discussing to me. Each deserves it's own thread to easily carry on the conversation for hours or days.
  15. I have many crimes, like wearing red after labour day! But I've never been a rider fan! Lol that's for my mother and my sisters... the men were always bomber fans lol I feel like it might be an IP address issue, I bet it's an IP address range that has been banned and I just happen to be with the same provider.
  16. Hey all, I know plenty of you regulate both forums, would one of you please pass on my email to modadmin so I can work out why my account is banned? It's jmcfarlane2@gmail.com, for some reason they randomly have banned me saying my account is migs...... I'm definitely no rider fan lol Appreciate it. ---- determined it must be a shred UP ban, account works from work but not from my cell phone... lame Cheers, Johnathan
  17. I was surprised that we drafted as many receivers as we did; but I believe now we can be less concerned about the "depth" if one of our Canadian receivers goes down. I mean, although it surprised me and I wasn't a huge fan, it also seems to make sense. If we are going for O-LINE, and WRs to make up most of our Canadian talent then recruiting and drafting Canadian talent in receivers makes sense. Actually, parts of me are wondering if a star Canadian receiver is paid similar dollars to a star import receiver? Could this also be a beneficial way of shifting money around on our SMS as well as putting ourselves in better draft positions in the future since not many teams typically run this many Canadians on their receiving end? It might be very interesting if the receivers end up working out well; I know we call Brandon Bridge Air Canada, but maybe our receiving squad can steal the nickname from him and be known as Air Canada or the Winnipeg Blue Birds; I know I'm being overly optimistic but I think its better to be optimistic and become disappointed then being pessimistic and then proven right
  18. Agreed; I was hoping Bond was heading for anywhere but the Riders... that definitely upgrades their offensive line which was looking terrible. The Riders have upgraded a bit today; it's going to be a tough battle this year again, in the west.
  19. I would leave the challenge rules as they are but allow the eye in the sky to correct egregious errors without a challenge being required. If we could take better advantage of the eye in the sky to correct the incorrect calls without requiring review then I believe we would see better officiating over all. I would expect the eye in the sky to call the play at the same gamespeed as the ground officials meaning they are only going to call those plainly obvious calls.
  20. I completely agree with 17to85 and noeller, you don't get accountability by airing out your dirty laundry
  21. I think the question should be less would you pay Muamba 225k and more like could that money be better spent over multiple other positions to improve the talent while also improving the talent of the MLB position with a different player.
  22. I agree we need a DC; and a DC that plays aggressively and uses a typical defensive package. I mean not an etch a sketch playbook that is super unique and hasn't done well in awhile or a soft bend but don't break defense either. I also expect that we recruit some better receivers and agree we have to get rid of the minor tweak mentality; it seems the most successful teams this year made major upgrades through out the year. Sure Calgary didn't but I also don't feel like they are favourites to win the grey cup. Honestly, Edmonton and Saskatchewan right now are looking like the match-up and I mean; they made consistent changes even as much as we made fun of Chris Jones he did what he needed to do to make a competitive team.
  23. I've had problems since the start of Babble, although it has become progressively worse. I hope that this game is better and the changes they did worked out. If it doesn't, I wonder if there is a tool that would provide the chat to be hosted over an IRC connection that just feeds to the web interface. Back in the day I know this was possible, there are plenty of free providers for IRC clients that would allow us to continue to chat. Might be worth a consideration
  24. I mean; Jone's defense is starting to do well and he has uncovered a few gems. I still have no respect for the method in which he uses to accomplish these tasks. That is why I can't cheer for Chris Jones even if the team seemingly is doing well. As for Duron, well he is a hell of an athlete as a receiver, as a DB I think he lucked out with a very off game that was happening by Boo. Both though are doing well and credit must be given where it is due.
