Tee Martin may or may not have been a competent quarterback for us...hard to say how he would have done with a competent coach and/or team around him. But congrats to the guy, obviously he has some smarts...

Well, whatever changes we make, whether big or small, they better be the right ones. Out in Saskatchewan the new coach/G.M. said he is going to hold free agent camps "right after the new year starts". So, we better be doing the same...there needs to be an air of, shall I say, desperation, in the Bomber offices this off season. We have to improve more than any other team does.

Yes, he was a drug addict and was arrested many times, the last time quite recently. Very sad, but despite the fact that he was a very troubled individual he was a human being who had value (as we all do) and he deserves to be honoured. He was a great football player and the first Bomber I ever remember following as a kid. I am sad to hear of his passing and send his family my condolences.

The bet here in Saskatchewan is that Jones will indeed be offered the job with a high pay raise and likely go to Regina unless the Eskimos somehow manage to sweeten the pot for him, but that would mean getting Hervey out of the picture. Jeremy O day would likely be retained as assistant G.M. in SK.

Eugene Goodlow may have been the best receiver to ever don a Bomber jersey. Unfortunately we will never know how good he could have been as an injury, as I recall, cut his career short...

No way is Paul Jones coming back here. He left here many years ago...in fact IMHO our decline from being a great team in the 80's and early 90's can be partially attributed to Paul Jones (and also Cal Murphy) leaving. We have had a few good years since then but not with any consistency that we had then...

Anyways, will be cheering for Ottawa to win cup...it has been a looooong time for them.

Speaking of injuries, I remember that player, back in the 70's, I believe it was with Ottawa, who went unconscious on the field and died in the hospital a few days later...terribly tragic story... football is a brutal sport filled with injuries, unfortunately many of them serious...

So, how much were the refs fined for their putrid performance?

Weaknesses of O'Shea: He doesnt play quarterback, running back, offensive line, defensive line, defensive back, receiver, or kicker. Oh, sorry, I guess that means our players also bear SOME responsibility for our poor play... (insert smilee face here). Personally, I like oshea, at times he has made poor decisions, but I fear us firing him and getting somebody a lot less competent...

Benevides & Higgins... you would still need to ask permission to BC & MTL. Of course they'd say yes, but they still have contracts so it's part of the process. I like the idea of bringing back LaPo. I'm sure he'd be open to it too, knowing O'Shea will have a short leash, and no one from the Mack era that rushed him out there door is left! No, you do not need permission from b.c. or montreal to talk to higgins or benevides. IF...you hire them then the stipulations as to a payout - if that has not happened already, comes into effect. But they are fired...anyone can call them with inquires...

So...I just watched the video on this new quarterback and the only question I have now is... Can he start Saturday? (okay, only half kidding).

Why would the riders trade Messam? Is he a free agent after this season? Messam has been the Riders best player this year, bar none.

Well, I hate every other team in the CFL - I hate the Riders the most and I live in Saskatchewan - but I will cheer for any team in any given week where it helps my team the Bombers win even if it means cheering for the Riders (and that is painful)..

Yup, agreed. I was cheering hard for the riders today. For us to make the playoffs, we have to be ahead of SK and B.C. and at least tied with Montreal. Not likely gonna catch Ottawa but who knows what happens this last 3rd of the season. Anyone know when Willy will be back?

This thread is about the ref's blown call, not about the Bombers lack of production up until that point (yes, they were not up by 30 points but they were in a position to tie or win - the refs made that difficult to improbable). Have to agree with Lawless on this one. Cleaning house would set us back even further. They are on the right track. It hasn't translated on the win column yet, but I believe it will...

Feel real bad for the guy. He must be devastated. His career probably over. Not too many teams in any league would be willing to take a chance on this guy...

Can he also do some magic tricks like make a quarterback and offensive coordinator disappear?
