The league said that there is nothing in the rule book prohibiting this type of hit, and that they will look at ways to prevent this from happening in the future, which is exactly THE RIGHT THING TO DO.
To be fair, it was kind of a freak accident, with Rempel's head hitting the turf the way it did. Had he simply fallen on his back, this wouldn't even be a point of discussion. I don't believe the hit was malicious in nature.

One of the Top Dogs, on a list where only 3 QBs have been the starter for those past 3 seasons.  You'd have to look at individual seasons, and bring Burris, Glenn & Ray into the picture.
In fact, one could argue that the Bombers might have been better off with Kevin Glenn under centre last season!

Nichols' play the last season+ probably is playing a role in lower than expected attendance.  Barely any games over 27,000 last season despite the team making the playoffs and having a combined record 10 games over .500 in 2016 and 2017 - the previous two seasons..  People were losing faith last year as to whether he could win a playoff game let alone the Grey Cup.  Things reached a crisis point at the Banjo Bowl.  Fortunately for Nichols, the defense, special teams, o-line and Andrew Harris picked up the slack for his mediocre play in the final third of 2018.  Basically Nichols managed most games.  Rarely, if ever, did we have a game in which Nichols was great.  Not what the fans like to see in a nearly $500K QB.

This thread has some good entertainment in it. I haven't thrown any gas on it. One 300 game last year doesn't leave you inspired?

Nichols is BAD -- definitely not a championship calibre QB. One of the most immobile QBs to have ever walked the face of the Earth.

I don't say stupid **** like Arbuckle is the fifth best QB in the league based on two drives against a lazy BC defense that also blundered an onside kick.

Harris and Collaros have played in Grey Cups, but Collaros is a shell of his prime.
Nichols 1-4 in playoff games career.  He's out of runway in terms of excuses, or the "but if we had this we'd win."  We have a ridiculously great D, great RB, great receivers, OL that has performed well through 2 games, I'd say great vs BC, average vs EDM, but certainly not a problem and will only get better as guys play more together.  Nichols needs to win this year, and by that probably win the Grey Cup or at least get there, or he's done here.  Very much like Glenn in 2008.  Nichols is the guy completely under the microscope because everything else is in place.
