Wouldn't the idea of getting something now in return for a guy who perhaps had no future here make more sense than just letting him go for basically nothing in the off season? ? I'd trade him if I got my price. I mean coombs and a first is better than nothing. That's 2 potential Canadian starters at worst backups for a guy who might not be here next season

Team Canada Lost 4 2 to Team USA Canada looked good tho but Quick was pretty much on fire. Think Canada has some work to do. Buff looked pretty good for the US. Wheeler did not. I guess one thing to keep in mind here.... this is probably the first time a lot of these guys have skated at this pace cuz it was quick paced for sure in a long time. Wheeler is also a notoriously slow starter to the season. Loffler has to play basically. The 3 import oline basically forces him and they aren't going to change that. Guess they could put macho on the roster at the expense of an extra import backup somewhere but he won't slash can't be starting unless they start a Canadian elsewhere instead of safety
