  1. Riley was the only reason I cheered for Oregon State. That, and cheering for the underdog. Now what? Cheer for the Huskies? Yeesh. when I was a child, I lived in Vancouver B.C. I used to wander around the UBC campus a bit. and I remember seeing the Huskies players practising, up to play the UBC Thunderbirds. very exciting for a small feller. That's all I got. who does Marriota play for? heard he's not bad. Mariota plays for Oregon (*spit*)
  2. Cortez not a HC candidate in BC, according to News 1130 in Vancouver. Could be up for OC though.
  3. Find it interesting that Marc Mueller is getting moved to the offensive coaching staff a year before a new OC will be needed. Mueller will rise up the coaching ranks quickly, could be a darkhorse candidate for OC.
  4. Dickenson we can take off. Buono is on record saying he wants an offensive guy, though he will still interview Steinauer by the sounds of it. I'd bank on LaPo or Garcia with Barrett as a wildcard.
  5. Shawn Lemon and Brett Jones among those getting heavy NFL interest. Lemon has 12 workouts planned, Scott Mitchell of the CGY Sun says Jones has drawn interest from atleast 9 teams thus far.
  6. Was on TSN 1040 today and mentioned that he has had a couple calls already.
  7. Any team can sign him off waivers, if he goes unclaimed, he will be on the Bears IR.
  8. I don't think the Bombers have a great offensive line, but to put the blame squarely on them isn't accurate. Willy was sacked plenty in Saskatchewan too, and most would agree they have a satisfactory front. Willy was sacked every 8.2 dropbacks this season. When he played in Saskatchewan he was sacked every 9.2 dropbacks. Brian Brohm was sacked every 18.5 dropbacks in relief this season, Robert Marve 1 time in 23 dropbacks. Not all the QB's fault either, obviously, but a little perspective. Also, FWIW, Durant was sacked every 13.1 dropbacks (44) last season. Willy would have equated to about 63 sacks last year, only three less than he did this year.
  9. Speaking of Mike Kelly, he is Head Coach at Widener University in NCAA Div III... they are 12-0 right now. Widener U is where Pat Quinn (RIP) got a law degree from.
  10. Whether Banks would have been tackled or not can be debated, but the Stamps didn't allow a return TD this season, and they had the fewest cover team penalties, and second fewest return penalties. Mark Kilam is the best.
  11. Touch football tourney would be sweet.
  12. History of players not liking George Cortez has often led to a change of scenery. Not sure he would have been back in 2014 if the Riders didn't win last year.
  13. I see Alex Moodie has been traded again. Maybe this time it will stick.
  14. Took a few years, but he surrounded himself with great coaches as well. Austin and Stubler were the coordinators. Guys need to come in with the right attitude and let their coaches coach. Hasn't really been the case for some of the failures. Would be interesting to see Garcia for sure.
  15. Third Grey Cup as the Official... 2004 and 2011 were the previous two. Some stats from Proulx crew games this year: 333 penalties in 17 games for an average of 20. (Rest of the games was 1501 penalties for 22 per game) 81 calls for Offside/Procedure 93 calls for Blocking Fouls 54 calls for Roughness 32 No Yards 33 PI/Illegal Contact Some other misc such as illegal punt, kick, time count, etc. for the rest Nice to see Ben Major get the call. He deserves it for coming back from that kick to the head.
  16. Ernest Jackson would maybe fetch 200K if the cap was 8 or 9 million.
  17. That would be one heck of an expensive receiving corps. Price is a skilled receiver, but you would have issues getting him to use them all for 10 games, let alone 18.
  18. He actually does have a Twitter account (@coachETCH). Hasn't posted much in the past year, but when he does, they... R obscure(?) ... Also has a blog that ... he has ... posted to quite a bit, more so... at.. the beginning of the year. http://archive.aweber.com/en-via-aweber Back to the thread though, what is this about Maurice Leggett lighting Joe Mack on fire, becoming the new GM of the Blue Bombers, and trading Drew Willy to Montreal for a sandwich?
  19. Higgins was quoted at today's season wrap as saying there is a strong possibility that Garcia isn't in the CFL next year.
  20. I thought Fulton was their starting left tackle? At least that's what the Rider depth charts all say. Don't get me wrong I agree with you that if we could land Fulton it would be a definite upgrade to our internatonal OLiners. Just not sure Sask would give him up for a late round pick. He was benched a couple times this year, had a very poor season. Probably their worst offensive lineman. Has been trending downward the past couple years. Don't think he'll be there much longer.
  21. Love watching the WHL live. Usually try and get to 15-20 games per year. Saw the Wheat Kings 6 times last year, and they won them all. Great team to watch.
  22. Best D-line in the league there in Edmonton.
  23. RT @DarrinBauming: Quarterback Brian Brohm will require surgery to repair a broken thumb. #Bombers RT @BobIrvingCJOB: Mike O'Shea says Drew willy looks good and should start vs bc on Saturday
  24. Dan LeFevour hasn't played in two months and he still leads the team in rushing yards. That tells you all you need to know about the Tiger-Cats and the amount of times they run the ball in a game. There was a time late last season when Gable rushed for over 300 yards in 3 games, and then saw the ball 7 times over the following three games.
