  1. the last one. Sadly, it's literally a dying sport... Not sure that's entirely the case. TSN is doing amazing with their ratings for the Brier and Scotties. Like the CFL, more people are electing to watch from home.
  2. Jacobs crushes Carruthers 7-2... they have won 20 straight games at "Team Canada" events, that being the Brier and Canadian Curling Trials. Only three of them have been by one point too.
  3. Laycock barely got out of Saskatchewan, they are a very iffy team but more often than not find a way to win. They still have to play Jacobs, K. Koe, and Cotter, and are currently losing to Menard tonight. Could easily finish 6-5 yet. Even Kean has played well enough to give them a game when they meet.
  4. Lol at "Flashiness" Rogers will be lucky if he starts.
  5. Only guy I would choose over Barron Miles to have as a DB Coach is Tony Missick. Great hire for the WBB.
  6. It's a shame Andrew Luck was 12/33 passing, the Colts might have had somewhat of a chance otherwise. Or if they didn't have such a soft, weak, fickle defence that can't stand up in the rushing game.
  7. Well. That was ugly. Buckeyes probably should have won by 40. Had them by 3, figured Oregon's finesse wouldn't match Ohio State's physicality. Didn't watch the 4th Quarter because I couldn't stand to watch the celebration.
  8. Erik Gardiner will be a good one for them as well. Drafted in the 2nd round in 2014.
  9. Darren Carrington out for the title game: http://espn.go.com/college-football/bowls14/story/_/id/12144022/darren-carrington-oregon-ducks-suspended-national-title-game-failed-drug-test
  10. Can't believe I have to hope Oregon wins a title. What a sad day for America.
  11. Richie Hall doesn't get the respect he deserves. Never has, never will. Only reason he was let go was because Chamblin had to save face somehow.
  12. Difference between commanding excellence as a Hall of Fame player, and a guy who will go down as just another mediocre player. One gets that respect, the other doesn't.
  13. Manziel figured he could continue his rockstar status by just showing up and everything would be great. As soon as he didn't get the starting job, he was done.
  14. Supposedly interviewed at ESPN about a television gig already as well.
  15. Cutler is a coach killer. Even when he plays well he just gives off negative vibes all the time. All the tools to be a great one. But that's his problem, he has all the tools but he's also one himself. Always either pissed off or indifferent. Not a leader by any stretch of the word. How can you win with a player like that? He'll get the next HC in Chicago fired as well. Yup. His history does not lie. If Trestman's mentoring, coaching, tutoring had no effect on Cutler, I say good luck Chicago. Cutler is hands down one of the worst team 'leaders' of all time. As bad as it seemed, Cutler still had career highs under Trestman, which says something about his ability as an offensive mind. Interesting that the Jaguars fired their OC today - Trestman and Jags HC Gus Bradley are good friends. Would be an ideal landing spot for both parties. Young offence, and the Jags would land a brilliant offensive mind without having to really pony up the big bucks.
  16. There's a lot of pretty old coaches in the NFL, pittsburgh defensive coach is well into his seventies. Same for Cowboys defensive coach. How old is Shanahan? Coughlin is mid sixties. Two of the best coaches in NFL history came from the CFL. Of course, no shortage of coaches in their 60s/70s, and he will be one if he continues to coach, but referring to Marc Trestman as a Head Coach in the NFL. Shanahan, as you reference, was 36 in his first shot, Coughlin 48. Years to grow and groom. Trestman took his first job at 57. Others have time to take a lesser job and bounce back, or land a new gig right away after success in their first stop (Coughlin, likely Rex Ryan) Trestman not so much.
  17. Maybe as OC or QB coach. Trestman won't be an NFL head coach ever again. Never say never. If he was younger and had more opportunity for a bounce back, I would agree. At age 59 though I think his only chance is to land a coordinator gig and then become HC on an interim if someone gets canned.
  18. Fascinates me how a team fires a Head Coach after a 10-6 season, only to let go his successor after two seasons. Supposedly they're keeping DC Mel Tucker, who orchestrated arguably the worst defence in the league the past two years. Kind of proof, how, at the end of the day, money (Cutler) won out. Pay 8 mill to make Trestman go away as opposed to 22 for Cutler.
  19. Two best years of his career overall were under Trestman too, so a regression (if you can call it that) could be expected. Unless they can find a trade partner in the off-season, 2015 is really the last year the Bears would pay the price if they let him go. In 2016 they'd save 14 mill in cap space and only have 3 mill in dead money.
  20. Very brilliant offensive football mind, I think he would be a great fit in Oakland with Derek Carr. Going to be an ugly year in Chicago in 2015. Trestman's offence was the only thing they had going for them.
  21. Former Bomber Michael McAdoo getting a looksie from the Seattle Seahawks.
  22. Is that the first of the exodus in Toronto that had been rumoured/speculated by Rogers employees?
  23. Kickin' the ol' tires. Will be interesting to see how he does. Big get for Sask if he can re-capture even a glimmer of himself.
  24. So the results of this poll now officially state "anyone but Greg Marshall"
  25. They also worked together at Cal too. I think Tedford & Cortez had a falling out. He either left or was fired by Tedford. I don't think it ended nicely. Yeah that still is interesting. Cortez 'left to pursue an NFL job' and wound up taking the Riders OL Coach vacancy. Cal went through a few OCs during that time period. It's a tough gig to try and stay on top of a Power 5 conference. Why didn't you bring this up today? There are some things that I just can't remember at my old age, Kent.
