  1. They also worked together at Cal too. I think Tedford & Cortez had a falling out. He either left or was fired by Tedford. I don't think it ended nicely. Yeah that still is interesting. Cortez 'left to pursue an NFL job' and wound up taking the Riders OL Coach vacancy.
  2. Rapsheet says Tedford will be announced tomorrow at a press conference. Will be very interesting to see who he brings in for assistants.
  3. Who voted other, and who would that be. Unless I missed their post.
  4. Yeah, you're gonna get mediocrity. I'd like someone who can win, not just be average. Mediocrity was a step up from downright abysmal. I don't think he's the guy long term, but he was what the Bombers needed last year.
  5. I thought Bellefeuille was the right coordinator for what the Bombers needed last year with a new QB, looking for a new direction, and more importantly, to win games. Bellefeuille may not light the world on fire with his offence, but you know what you're gonna get, and I think with an improved defence, the Bombers can get a ticket to the show and see what happens.
  6. Benevides got a severance package for 6 months according to Ed Tait, but extension didn't kick in until December 15 as gbill stated.
  7. Sacks are a shared statistic. Not fully on the OL, scheme, or QB. Some plays a lineman gets beat, some plays the QB doesn't progress his reads, and sometimes the scheme just sucks.
  8. Interesting. So you don't think Bucknor is good at playing man-D? Why do you say that? Man coverage without a safety.. Bucknor is probably getting burned.. Sad but true.. There is no shortage of DB's who are getting burned without safety help. Not sure why Bucknor has to be put in the spotlight for this.
  9. SFU has announced the resignation of Chapdelaine, so an announcement seems forthcoming from the Riders.
  10. Which brings back the question... who do you replace him with? Somebody has to be hired, unless Gene Dahlquist and Buck Pierce your consultants.
  11. Chamblin said he wanted someone in place by the end of next week (last week), so an announcement by Friday, perhaps.
  12. Believe they do. Imagine it will be he or Richie Hall.
  13. Of the three ... I think I'd want Claybrooks, Hall or Miles in that order. Claybrooks really intrigues me because if O'Shea wanted Stubler last year, he's probably going to be interested in the guy's understudy. That being said, a lot of talk floating around that Claybrooks is pretty set on staying in Calgary. If I was a betting man, I'd say we end up with Hall. Wouldn't be surprised if this is Stubler's last go along with Huff, and Claybrooks is the new DC in 2016.
  14. Not sure this happens if others don't become available (Richie Hall).
  15. More and more Canadian starters in the secondary, and Bucknor is a good one. Him and Jones gives the Bombers top quality Canadians at the position.
  16. Steve Tasker's son worked out with the Green Bay Packers, says ProFootballTalk
  17. And awesome drafting by Walters. Yup. Great pick and value.
  18. Not too often does a Canadian rookie get an extension after his first season, so quite the accomplishment for Jones. Good player.
  19. Only thing that could save him is the Bears owe him 8.5 million, and they probably can't dump Cutler until after next year.
  20. Or is it because the Oilers are trying to win with back-up goalies?
  21. Haven't you guys heard, Taylor Hall is uncoachable.
  22. Oilers have won three playoff series while Lowe has been in Hockey Operations with the team. That's 16 years.
  23. He's a lawyer, he's just doing his job. Considering the details and injuries, that is about the ugliest you could make the situation for what it actually is. Makes it seem like they had a yelling match.
