  1. How I see it: Plan A: Draft Lavertu at #2 overall, have the option to start Neufeld or an American at RT. Plan B: Ottawa takes Lavertu, draft Foucault (or elsewhere) at #2 overall, start Neufeld at RT, import at C. Of course they could take Goossen at #2 as well, but I have been led to believe that the club is not all that high on him.
  2. Couple ways to look at it from a different perspective: Jyles has a similar skill set to Chris Hart - a quarterback the Lions have been quite high on. He can lend some advice and help for a guy looking to breakthrough for a roster spot. The Lions were burned badly by mobile quarterbacks last season, and while you can get wisdom from different outlets, having first hand experience from that style of quarterback isn't a bad thing. Finally, perhaps unlikely, but a shot in the dark at trying to force Ottawa's hand by posturing themselves with a veteran back-up. "We're fine with our situation, but are you fine with having a back-up who is clearly unhappy with his situation." To which Ottawa probably laughs and hangs up.
  3. In my evaluations, Lavertu is the only guy I like to play right away. Matthias Goossen would be the sure bet, because he comes out of Simon Fraser in the NCAA, which means he can't return to school, however I feel he is atleast two years away from making an impact. I can't imagine a scenario where Lavertu returns to school, given how high the Bombers are on him. Bingo. PS, glad you signed up, Tyler. Thanks man.
  4. Bombers have a guy from FSU - Daniel Glauser - attending mini camp next week who lost a year due to playing two games in a Swiss league prior to attending JuCo. Missed out on a National Championship this past year.

  6. He does. If I were to guess, he does something similar to Brett Jones, and return to classes following the season. That is from the perspective that he can play meaningful time right off the hop, which I believe he can.
  7. His base salary is $145,000 and has incentives worth up to an additional $30,000 for a max of $175,000 per season. Perhaps he could have squeezed out a few more thousand elsewhere, but I think he is quite comfortable on the coast.
