And I'm hoping I'm misinterpreting a quote I read from him today:
“I’m finally able to sit in a room for four hours and say ‘here are my ideas. Help me figure it out.’ That’s been neat for me,” he says.
To me one of his significant downfalls as a coach is his stubbornness to move away from something, i.e., his ideas that he, and he alone, thinks is pure genius, that clearly in some cases aren't working regardless of the tweaks made to them. His statement above suggests to me he still takes the 'plan and push his ideas' approach onto his support staff/athletes rather that create and engage with them. Yes someone has to be in charge but he always needs to be receptive to ideas that may run counter to his own. I'm not sure he's wired that way. Time will tell if he's learned from his last go around with us.

    Damn straight.
I'm probably in the minority in never feeling good about supporting the Jets tanking/losing to increase their chances at getting the number 1 draft pick.
I want them to win no matter where they are in the standings, no matter where the season is at. Look how Vancouver is getting blown out lately, Look at Toronto, Look at Edmonton. Historically look at how draft picks have helped teams move from have nots, to haves and the time frames, if any of these three teams secure Austin Matthews does in no way secure their 'have' status. Again, getting a player like Matthews would be great, but it's just a bonus that's it.
I could really care less if we land Austen Matthews. If it happens, great, bonus but I'm not supporting the, 'this is what we need to put us over the top' type mentality.
I'm more looking at the bigger picture needs and what our Coaching Staff, GM and Owners are going to do about getting this team to a better place.

Maybe, but your consistent sentiments like above really come across as, 'Whose my favorite Team? 'My favorite team is a team that wins all the time'.
Yes, we all are frustrated, impatient, provide critique/opinions  and want our team to win, but we also balance that with being ardent supporter that will defend this team anywhere, anytime. The Bombers could go 0 and 18 and I would still wear our colors proud and loud.

I was living in Calgary in the 1990's and one day I am in Eau Claire (downtown Calgary) and a cab pulls up and Teppo Numminen and Keith Tkachuk get out.  I was in awe.  I just said "It's great to meet some Winnipeg Jets in Calgary!" and they both were so happy that someone in Calgary recognized them that they hung out with me while I walked around the mall with them.  One of the greatest " random meeting your sports heroes in public" days of my life.
Teppo and I had a lot of fun bugging Tkachuk about the giant contract he had just signed, that was fun.

reunite the "Trei Krone" line of Lundholm, Steen and Lindstrom.  We called them the "Trei Groaner" line as they would pass and pass and pass and never shoot.

No, just no. Now that My man Buff is retained, I'm jumping on the Myers wagon. He's a keeper imo. He has not reached is full potential, he's still young, and like Buff, he's an unique player that doesn't come around to often.

I think you mean Cha Ching.  Ching Ching was a panda.  I think.  Unless you want the Jets to get a panda in exchange for Ladd.  Which would be kind of cool, I guess.

No one player can make a team a cup contender. It's more like will retaining Ladd help put us over the top from pretenders to contenders? With what he's shown and with what's coming up the ranks I'd say possibly yes.  Trading away Ladd I sense we break even unless Chevy completely hoodwinks someone.

It means being a consistently supportive team member especially in rough times, it means having a genuine presence in the community where you still go to the children's hospital even when you're dead tired and not because you're told too but you want too, it means appreciation for getting paid well for a sport a lot of us love playing and watching, it means committing too and acting on the system the coach has implemented making the necessary individual sacrifices/changes that's required, it means, like any profession, having a high level of emotional intelligence that can't be seen by shooting a puck into a net (see Evander Kane as an example), etc. I can guarantee that if you took all the multi talented yet narcissistic type players and put them all on the same team, dysfunctional and losses will follow. So yes other things than pure skill is what scouts, coaches and general managers look for, guaranteed.

Just saw the events leading up the ejection. Extraordinary.
Little was smashed when he was in a vulnerable position. Everybody saw it. That's why a guy like Wheeler went straight after Stralman. You can't have that kind of BS. And yet the NHL won't even talk to him? Strange. Makes me wonder the reaction from the NHL  had it been Myers or Buff on the giving end of that hit.
And Paul Maurice? Appropriate reaction? You bet. When the explanation doesn't fit the offence, you get mad. Paul Maurice got mad. And he got a bench penalty. And he got stared down...by a ref...who had no business goading a man he already knew was upset.
Totally handled wrong from the get-go.
How about the refs getting a 'talking to' over this matter?

Definition of a scapegoat. The GM is the big problem there. Minny has nothing in the system at all. I'd seriously consider yeo as an assistant coach for the jets if he'd take it

My guess, and it's purely a guess, is that some (not all) entertainers do this for fun, thinking they are being clever, trying to get a rise out of people and thinking to themselves 'look what I can do', not knowing and/or not caring that what they do can indeed impact lives and cohesion. Sometimes for the good, sometimes for the bad, sometimes for both.
