I too was left speechless after that awesome performance by Nichols last night.

That wasn't the question though. If we're just going to say this was the OL, and, Willy would have been just as good behind it, then we're just starting at the result and moving backwards.  
Nichols clearly had better protection but that also can be a function of him releasing the ball faster, looking off receivers, and pushing the ball further downfield. It's never just one thing. It's a combined effort.

300 yards, a touchdown, no picks, and no drive killing mistakes. And he helped generate 30 points. I don't get how that translates to "not playing very well".
Bizarre but you're entitled to your opinion. I was only able to catch half the game and from what I watched he wasn't the MVP but he was a huge part of our win tonight.

Willy is nearly 30 man. What potential? All the hype from Rider fans from 4 years ago? Cmon.

Coulda woulda shoulda. Normally I hear these excuses from fans when their team losses. Yet here we are after a win....

If the worst thing that we can say about Nichols is that "he did similar things to Willy" I think we're in significantly better hands already. I can't think of one single aspect where Nichols was actually a downgrade from Drew.

I don't get the poo pooing of his win tonight. I know he has this "backup QB" brand burned into his rear end apparently, but, he gave us a quality start and a win in Edmonton. A place we haven't won since Milt was on the team. Harris was a beast and the D was awesome, but our QB also contributed and made plays. 
If Nichols isn't a starting QB then Willy's a 3rd stringer by that measure. 

This has gone way past the point of disaffected fans pissing and moaning, and if the team is not in crisis, it is darned close. O'Shea and probably  Walters have reached the point of being unable to redeem themselves. The fans have begun to vote with their feet and should the Bombers get mangled in Edmonton (a likelihood) then the next home game will feel like a wake. If Miller and/or Walters haven't figured this out yet, then they are also part of the problem.

the 5-1 start was pretty awesome. I remember being really  up on Willy after not wanting him, and, some what impressed with MOS. The results were there. Since that 5-1 start it's been a debacle. Just a hot mess.
I think I mentioned before too about how winning 07 or 01 or 11 would have made a world of difference for this team and our fan bases morale. 01 was the least excusable. That was our Cup and a sub 500 team got hot at the right time, and, we didn't show up. That one hurts. The loss to BC was painful of course but not entirely unexpected. It's the loss the Riders that stings the most even now, and probably within the hard core fans still rings in our ears a bit. We were the better team for sure and a terrible fluke injury doomed us. Ugh. I can`t even bare to think about that game much more or I`ll get all pissed off.
What Mike said was bang on. As Bomber fans were not enjoying this team right now, were coping with it. Its a terrible way to be a sports fan.

We're all watching the same dumpster fire. Not everyone responds the same way, and I definitely do believe the way some people respond and behave is something that could be improved upon. But at this point, I don't think I can blame anyone. I think we're all sick of it and we just choose to cope (is that the best word?) in different ways.

No way MOS gets the boot at 1-5....because if we change coaches during the season, we might lose football games....

Initially last night, I didn't think I wanted O'Shea gone. For that exact reason - I don't want LaPolice or Hall as the head coach either.
Because we've seen that story one too many times before.
But you're right - if the best reason we can keep a guy is that at least it's not another guy, that's not a reason at all. Get rid of him and make sure management does the right thing in the offseason.
