Spot a team 5 turnovers...give them 7 points..shut them down the rest of the way. That was an epic performance by the defence. Sure it was Sask., but they owned them tonight. Westerman, Turner, Peach, Cole - great game.
Defence - 5 sacks, could have had 2-3 more.
Leggett, Hurl and Bass were dominant.
The secondary smothered the receivers. This D got help from an offence and it showed what they can do.
Impressive to shut a team down when you initially have more turnovers than points...

Seemed like neither of these teams could beat....a bowl of eggs..
Nichols used poise (and experience) to shake off his 3 turnovers...

Made one major mistake......got blindsided on first fumble, Adams bungled the ball into his one int.  He did shake those off and gave us some passing, and more importantly some TOP (for our D)

Nichols had a fantastic game. His fumble deep in Sask territory is definitely on him, but anyone blaming him for the interception or other fumble is high. He got smoked from behind hard... if that was Willy in the pocket no one would question it. And the pick? Receiver got 2 hands on it and proceeded to lateral it to a Rider. Not on Nichols.

One thing I really liked about Nichols is that he really sells the play action fake handoff to the RB. Buck Pierce was the worst at that...

Lawless called for a "dispassionate" assessment of Miller/Walters' performance. How can you get any more dispassionate than looking at the Bombers' win/loss record during their rule and then at the number of times the team has been blown out and lost at home? Number do not always tell the story, but here they do.

I'm not as worked up as you think, I just post my opinions. No worries. I care deeply about my favourite team that's all. I don't like them being the laughing stock of the league. I want to see at least one more championship in my lifetime before I die or in diapers in some seniors residence but most times I don't think it'll ever happen.
Like I said, most of you guys are too young to remember our last 3 GC championships from 84, 88 & 90 like I do & what it meant to me, other Bomber fans, the City of Winnipeg & to the Blue Bombers themselves as an organization. You have no idea (if you've never experienced it before) what it's truly like as modern fans, to win a Grey Cup championship & what it means, unfortunately. To know that the Bombers were the best team in the league for those 3 seasons, wow... What an unbelievable feeling. For the last 25 years with the odd exception  it's been all about the losing & not the winning for most of you. Truly sad.

If I'm not mistaken I believe this is the 4th time a Bomber QB has been injured this season on a questionable hit that went un-penalized by the officials.  Twice they have later confessed that they got the call wrong and fined the offending player.  On the Marve hit they used a ridiculous technicality to nullify a dangerous low hit.  The refs. have no clue when it comes to enforcing the "spirit" of the rule, which is to protect QB's from harm. 
 
Can't recall who it was but last weekend a QB took a helmet to the chin and was checking for missing teeth, while the official looking on did nothing.  With each passing week the games seem to be getting worse as we witness inexperienced 2nd and 3rd string QB's compete at futility.  At some point this epidemic of QB injuries is going to harm the leagues bottom line and maybe then they will take it seriously.

With our O Line and Matt's history I could also see Nichols being out for the season with a knee injury about 17 seconds into the first quarter on Saturday.  

Or maybe he did bring in some good players but our OC passed on them. Really don't know do we cuz guys like bass adams Collins Cole even, M Willie and Veltung among others have looked good when give the chance. Makes you wonder really... square pegs in round holes maybe or maybe there were some talented players brought in who just weren't MBS boyfriends. Cuz the D has a few talented newcomers

US scouting wasn't a problem until Walters took over.  He's basically reversed the problem from NI's to imports.  Better base for the next GM to build from I guess.

Well for sure and maybe every 5 years is aggressive.   But should we expect one every 10 years, I would say yes.
That's what a franchise like Calgary expects and has been doing for the past 20 years... again that's the type of franchise I want.

I'll take a Grey Cup win period. Whatever it takes to get it one year. Even if it kills the team for 5 years.

Yep great point. I was against the wind and LH was just trying to kick it as far as he could, instead of concentrating on putting it to a corner (which he is usually good at). We say someone 'vacated' a lane but the punt cover team in the huddle knows where the ball (as in what side) is being kicked too - and it's never kicked 'in the middle'. There's just so many things going on during a punting play that we really don't know. 
 
But that being said - 3 TD returns from punts and it's only the halfway mark is unacceptable, but so is our crappy defense (if you bothered watching the Eskie/Cal game - lots of two and outs there but didn't see a D get 'tired' - that "our D got tired in the second half" excuse a lot of you use around here is pure BS) and pathetic offense. At least we're consistent all across the board. Except for the fans - fans are still the best IMO. 

Now O'shea has an excuse not to fire MB until the end of the year. Firing two coordinators mid season is pretty unheard of and would put the team into a tailspin I would think.
