Sam was a middling NFL prospect long before he publicly came out. Even with the great season he had in the SEC.  There's lots of undersized players with prestigious NCAA awards in the CFL too. And lots that even fail up here.

I'm not really sure about Dallas but I know St Louis is very deep at D-line... he was a long-shot to make the team, no matter what his sexual orientation is... from day one they knew it would likely come down to Sam vs Ethan Westerbrooks... and Westerbrooks was very good in camp and pre-season... that was truely a football decision

Experts and scholars looking to push their own agenda. Seriously, apply even a shred of logic to what makes racism and you will see that it has nothing to do with oppression or power. Anyone can be a racist regardless of what their status is. Trying to change the definition of racism to what you are suggesting is quite frankly one of the most racist things I've ever heard.

Im cant tell you what is in Wilson's heart.  Is he a racist?  How do I know.  How do you know.  I suppose he is a six year cop without a single issue on his record, driving around all that time waiting for his chance to murder a black kid and start a race war.  I suppose that is possible.  On the other hand, its more likely that he was responding to a call, knew the description of the individual wanted who physically assaulted the store clerk (rather than just shoplifted a couple of cigars) and was assaulted.
 
Wilson did have probable cause.  Firstly his contact with Brown came about because Brown and his friend were walking down the middle of the road and swore at the cop when he advised them not to walk in the middle of the road.  is that a good reason for police interaction?  Maybe not.  But it's still legitimate.  Wilson had the description and saw the cigar box in Brown's hand.  Probable cause.
 
We can debate this forever but the available evidence does not point to a race-based murder by a cop.

In what sense?  That a thug who breaks the law and attacks a police officer is allowed to get away with it because he's black, the cop is white and there is a racial devide in the city?

Sure, it seems harmless to allow a gay guy to play, but what's next?

To be fair, even if 10% of the population is gay -- which I would argue is far closer to reality than 3-5%, as so many men (and women) that are gay force themselves to live and "report" as straight -- I do think 4 per football squad would be exaggerated, especially at the pro level.
 
At least not til after another generation or two of societal tolerance. 
 
But percentage of gays in something less stigmatized like swimming or track or tennis? Sure, 10%.
 
Percentage in something like figure skating? Haha likely a bit higher.

I'd don't think the stats for the general population translate equally to pro sports. Not that I think Sam is the only gay football player out there, but do you really think there's an average of four gay players per team in the CFL?

Speaking of Rider fans - I'm staying at the Marriott in Maui right now. Yesterday afternoon I noticed a guy in a Rider shirt by the pool. Then a guy in a hat. Then a guy showed up with a flag. By the end there were at least fifteen of them all huddled around a laptop cheering. They drove away everyone else within earshot with their obnoxiousness. You would think that while getting drunk they would at least order drinks from the hotel while suckling down the free Wi-Fi but no, they smuggled in booze and beer and would secretly fill their glasses. We finally left after they started going on about Sunseri being better then Ricky Ray. Why can't I get away from these clowns?

Too focused on wins and losses?     You can't be too focused on wins in professional sports.  It's what defines the team and the players and the coaches as winners or losers.
 
O'Shea and company can only be blamed for this year's results, but this years results are no where near good enough.  8th in a 9 team league.  Only beating the expansion team in points.  Only beating 1 western opponent.  Not winning since some time in August.  These are all things that this group of management, scouts, coaches and players have to take blame for.
 
You need to start comparing our team to the other teams in the league instead of last years, 'one of the worst teams in Bombers history' team.  The only comparison that matters is how they play against the other teams.

I know cohesion is the best thing for a football team, generally speaking, but I for one am glad they're shaking things up. What have you got to lose at this point?
