Well we have one of the tallest (Matthews) and one of the fasted (Whitehead) and 2 guys (Adams and Lawler) who combine a nice combo of both...so....lets use them accordingly lol

2 Of 3 facets are usually needed to win a game...and we accomplished that..and won were pretty much even in total yards on offence..Calgary had 19 more yards but we dominated time of possession...so why don't we deserve the win?? And looking back on years past this was a game we would inevitably lose 9 times out of 10 and it would be noted that good teams find a way to win...so perhaps maybe warts and all...we are now that "good" team...hmmmm

exactly...smart coaching...and this should be used more often in situations in the red zone...not just to close out a game...we do that on the one drive where we settled for a field goal...we score

Nichols puts that ball over the left shoulder of Matthews he has body position and pulls it it....as it was..on wrong side and DB was able to get hands inside and disrupt the catch...why we don't take 3-4 shots like that to Matthews is baffling and is on Lapo....he makes 90% of those catches and it would loosen up defenses to allow guys like Lucky and Demski to grab crossing and slant routes in stride and most likely with a defender in trail position..I like our odds with any defender in trail position on Lucky...Grant too would be nice to see in rotation with Lawler

Tho not happy with the lack of vertical push, we took what arguably the best defense in league right now gave us and it worked...the check downs aren't sexy but kept drives alive and ate up a lot of clock. The Stamps have been shutting teams down lately and have won some games without much offense themselves so we played a smart safe game..we won..we are in first for now...why complain. You can say luck played into it due to the returns, but it's not always luck...a return takes a lot of things to go right to be successful...even moderately successful as well as and if your guys mess up assignments...it's ugly....it goes both ways. Nobody has a crystal ball either so who's to say if we didn't take the rock to the house we wouldn't have scored anyway...you will never know, so why dwell on it. I did see a concerted effort to throw downfield, so thats a start...Matthews ball was not really a drop...Nichols put it in wrong spot and the DB got his hands inside of Matthews and helped in dislodging it...if that ball is over the left shoulder Matthews makes the catch....continuing with Matthews he needs more than 4 targets a game...he should be fed 7-9 times minimum like other teams do their top guy, and not the 7-9 yard routes they run him..I think 2 of his 4 catches were routes inside the first down marker...stupid Defense though having a small blip after first 2 drives made the adjustments needed and shut things down nicely..thats even with an early injury in the secondary...and even without Jeffcoat the dline had lotsa pressure...caused Arbuckle to throw early on may instances resulting in bad throws...and some drops....the pick at the end..sure receiver had his mitts on it but pass was high and behind him and he had to contort back to get it, hence the tip drill...and that was due to pressure Also I think it's time for Hecht to have a seat and we use Jones...or Wright...I'd even like to see Exume there as he closes fast..hits hard and has a motor that doesn't stop. Hecht has wiffed too many tackles lately and is a step too slow for the blitz packages they use him in...he is good rotating in and in certain sets, but I think his majority of reps at safety now is hurting us somewhat. All in all...things still to fix, but what team doesn't have tings to fix, and we are still in first, and as long as we don't pull another T.O game should stay there after next week too...7-2 at the midway point isn't that bad...warts and all

exactly...you have to assess this regime on their contribution...not their predecessors...first 2 years were total wash/rebuild ones...the last 3 we are the second winningest team in the CFL...same as this year being top (for now)...let what has finally been built and established grow and continue...to pull a redo...cause its 29 years and counting is plain suicide...i look at it as year 4 and counting now...and we seem to be on right track

Actually for being inactive for so long Kongbo looked good...got in backfield quite a bit...had some hurries and a knock down and also caused 2 holding penalties that I saw...It was really effective when they ran sets with him and Willie side by side on the edge...the tackle and guard didn't know what to do

As long as we head back to Wpg for game vs Cgy st 6-1 I dont care as long as it's not a pull it out of fire last drive of game to win it..that shouldn't happen T.O is a bad team at moment but B.C is all around worse.. so a totally trumping shouldn't be "expected" but not shocking either. Most of the time its politics and image. If a draft pick is battling with a CFL guy and even not as good..they will be elevated above the CFL guy..its just how it works...not right but picks have to be justified.

Next year will be yr 3 for Strev...and if we keep him will be in same system with relatively the same supporting cast. I think if we win the Cup..we either trade Nichols if there is a taker..a team like Toronto could be a suitor considering they just traded for Collaros. We roll with Strevler..tweek and reconfigure the offense a bit to maximize his strengths but still build and develop his passing. He can pass more than adequately and as the main man..getting first team reps and not having to run gimmick and special schemes he will do just fine. As of now he is put in to run plays with limited options for him..so if the main read isnt there he basically has not much else to go to and relies on his legs It's not a matter of him just always taking off after one read as many think..its basically be design/circumstance.. next time you are at a game live watch what's going on around him on the field with options and receivers...you dont get the full picture on the tsn feed

For one sacks are highly overated and not a true indicator of a "good" line..get back to me when you see points allowed...rushing yards against...yards gained per first down and then digest that back in Sask as I assume that's where your sad lil post originated from Evan's is useless and doesnt warrant salary he pulls in and anyone can see that. Johnson has shown he cant do it alone and needs complimentary peices to obtain sexy stats and if you had any football acumen you'd know generally most interior guys get a double team generally..and he got doubled lots in CGY.. and had other guys taking attention away from him Hughes as usual I bgg getting his fancy stats early on..feasting on horrid Bc and T.O olines...but when games matter and down stretch he disappears and is a non factor...2 years running and I bet this year wont be any different...so maybe sight is hardly a stretch by any means Hughes has had 1 sack against a quality oline...(Calgary and Ham) and 1 against average Ottawa..the rest piled up against BC and T.O...color me not impressed...a College team would pile sacks up against that garbage
