  1. nice....wasn't aware they did it here but good on them
  2. there were more establishments within close walking distance sure....the old location had that...but it was a shitshow nightmare getting into or outta the stadium area..
  3. basically said that about bighill too...and others
  4. More competition for entertainment dollar, ease of watching at home (cable/streams/internet) price point of some seats...something easily changed and I bet you see a huge uptick in sales...aging fan base whom maybe some now can't go like before (regardless of where stadium is) and actually IGF is probably more accessible and handicapped/geriatric friendly than the old dump was...many factors play into decline in attendance...least of which is location. Working in the Civil/Municipal infrastructure and planning field I can tell you that area and the areas to the east and west of the stadium south of Bishop is where all the (well majority) of new development is going, and where the infrastructure and money is being allocated, thats residential and commercial so in time the stadium is going to be center to he majority of the entertainment spending public Also if the restaurants in close proximity were smart they would offer what shuttles like in stadiums in the States when I played...they promo it to pregame there and offer shuttle service to the games...pretty easy and effective way to bring patron's to your establishment that are game attenders..
  5. so how is that different then on a good day I had to drive 25-25 minutes to get to the game on a good day...then "hope" to find parking relatively close on a side street to avoid a 15 minute walk. And not sure how you avoided hardly any traffic but what I remember was bumper to bumper...on basically all one lane streets....yet you never heard anyone complain But people complain now, and it's basically the people whom the convenience of location is no longer convenient....can't appease everyone. I have gone several ways from Southdale...used the park and ride and got thee in like 15 minutes...and on way back....never more than 20...25 'I drive also...parked in the economy...took my 15 minutes basically from by the walmart on fermor where i live took me 15 to 20 to get there...have walked from the economy (15 mins) and took the shuttle they offer...(minutes) and to get home the drive usually takes anywhere from 20..to 40 minutes on a bad day...never was it that handy and fast at polo
  6. That was helmet to helmet..should have been no turnover and a penalty for the hit...by Greenwood who seems to be a chronic offender
  7. yeah at worst he goes back to PR...we need to develop guys constantly for injury, and in case we need to replace an older guy with higher SMS hit...tho I'd hate to see Adams go, but isn't he a free agent after this season, and he may command a salary that doesn't work for us next year...so Lawler would be a nice replacement..as opposed from starting from scratch If you watch Lawlers college clips he made unreal catch after unreal catch
  8. Walker was my dark horse coming into camp...and watching his route running and smooth speed in and out of cuts and the fact he never dropped a thing confirmed it in my mind he was gonna stick. He has the ability to move at top speed like Lucky, and make moves with the ball at top speed something most guys can't do If teams are sleeping on him expect us to hit him on a deep shot if he gets reps in the offence
  9. I kinda like Sanchez to be honest...
  10. the stadium location is a dumb reason in any context..it was an inconvenient location for me before...and thousands of others in area of city where I live...but we all went....so now if it's a matter of being inconvenient for the St James/Charleswood/polo Park area crowd, and they choose to not go anymore...then they were never true fans. When I lived in Oakland/San Jose areas going to a pro event was usually a good hour..hour and a half venture (one way) on most occasions....so stadium location in a smaller city is a pathetic excuse if you ask me
  11. yeah disappointing that Matthews wasn't back in...must be taking that extra game precaution..look forward tho to see Walker get some reps with the offence
  12. we only need one Canadian starting on defense to fill the ratio requirement..so if Hecht is out it will be Jones in his spot, most likely backed up with Exume and Wright whom I am certain will get on the roster either in Hechts roster spot, or Briggs....likely Briggs spot as I pretty sure Hecht won't miss any time...but if both are out then we need to fill another Canadian spot on roster...so Likely Griffiths comes on as really thats the only National reserve we have not on IR we have unless we dress Eli
  13. Hasn't Nichols though not really played in the 4th quarter of 2 games?...the Ottawa one where he didn't slide in time, and most of the 4th vs T.O...so numbers are a bit skewwed You also can't fault a team for starting in good field position...if defense is giving the ball back in good position and your return game is is doing the same..thats a plus in my books...sign of a well rounded team
  14. Yeah how this couldnt have been seen as maybe a recipe for disaster is beyond me...but man what a way to get butts in the seats tho hahaha
  15. well that explains the release
  16. Thing is...we have beaten 2 undefeated teams...sign of a good team Whipped the hopeless Argo's and it was never in doubt from the 3 minute mark...sign of good team won season opener on the road...sign of good team All the while racking up 30+ points for...1 pick and some very precision like work in the Red Zone...Like what...over 90% efficiency?? That tells me we have more than a capable QB to get us where we need to go...you have to remember basically prior to this year we were a one trick pony at receiver and had to rely on Harris....now...we have weapons that teams have to respect...and still have Harris to contend with...also Nichols looks a lot like 2016/2017 Nichols...where he was not hurt and pulled a lot of games out of the fire for us for a win...and it's pretty obvious from his play last year that he wasn't right all year long.. but this year he appears to be back and has more talent to use....so if he plays smart ball...doesn't try to be a hero and fatten his stats...we will win 9 times out of ten and to have people be down on him after averaging 4 offensive TD's a game so far..throwing 10 TD's to 1 INT....and not really having a game in doubt after the first quarter of the season...well thats just baseless we play Ott/Ham/T.O coming up next 3 game before our Calgary home game and if we play like we have been even with no overall improvement (which we will as season rolls on) we could be looking at a 7-0 record with that home match against CGY....Hamilton doesn't scare me and I think we will handle them rather easily
  17. LOL....isn't that crazy??? Imagine witnessing that first hand
  18. or 10 cent beer night....google Cleveland 10 cent beer night promo to see how that went....crazy hahahahaha
  19. Is kind of add as we had him around prior to Biggie going out, and Termple fared well...and if they weren't high on him then why have Warren sitting on PR?....WEIRD... Possibly Biggie has been knicked since TC hence him being not his dominant self, so they held on to an extra Import linebacker as insurance, but then again why didn't they play Warren instead of Temple? Or maybe Kongbo is ready to come on the roster in Lieu of a linebacker as a DI....And if that is the case I hope we use that spot with Bailey to give him some reps...or Walker
  20. times are changing now where teams are going to be...or some have been offering different/lower price points for tickets and concessions...you have to Before, going to the game was the basic only way to cheer for your team as it happened, and slowly with cable..then premium channels...lifting of black-outs and now online streaming..pirated feeds...super advanced tv's....you have to adjust. Teams now have to promote and focus on reclaiming the young generation and family's and should start doing joint promotions and events that will help draw the casual/curious fan in..and hook em
  21. Hecht was a ear hole by enemy fire on the tackle...and just the fact he was bouncing around on the sidelines..doing high knee jumps and **** to stay loose tells me he is fine...if he was concussed he wouldnt be doing that...
  22. cant wait for them to incorporate some quick hitting slants over the middle with him just inside the second level...if there is only one guy trailing him and we flush out the zone with motion out of the back field and receivers running deep routes he gets that ball in space....good bye
  23. Two of the TD's were miscommunication/missed assignments by the Bombers..is this fixable...certainly and better to flesh out the growing pains and oopsies now...and up to this point it hasn't cost us in the win column so that is a bonus as well. That TD to Amanti Edwards...truly believe if Hecht was in there he would have blown up the play or at the least made the Tackle (can't believe I am defending Hecht but he has impressed and played lights out) as Jones I think effed up from not playing with live bullets often enough and didnt react like he should...he took a weird route to the play, almost like he was trying to stay out of Alexander's way....but regardless i know in post game film study and coaching they will have him coached up to that being a one time thing and learning experience
  24. If B.C gets themselves another legit receiver and either benches Carter to start a fire under his arse or replaces him too then I think a pissed off Reilly can actually drag that team to a couple of wins..just due to him alone weak o-line be damned When they have actually used John White they have looked not too bad, and if they had even one compliment to Burnham and Durant could actually start piling up yards...and some wins...as it sits now nobody is getting open often and early and they play from behind negating their run game, so defenses are just pinning their ears back and teeing off..sooner or later, and I think it happens this weekend Reilly is gonna start to say eff it and not hang in their waiting and use his running...that alone will open things up for him and I truly think this week against Sask they are gonna have a break out game Riders will be flat out of the bye, as I have little faith that coaching staff will have them prepared..could still be without Marshall on the corner and really that defense hasn't really done much to induce optimism I bet Bc comes out with a vengeance and Reilly will play like an inspired Reilly can as I am sure he is sick of how things have went...and the wild card is Carter...is he going to come out with something to prove and stick it to Rider Nation..will this be a motivator for him to do something finally?..I'm thinking so and if the Lions ambush em and jump out early with a couple score lead...could see the wheels really falling off the Riders
