  1. exactly...and guys walked for less money elsewhere.....now come for less money If we can add just one of Posey/Walker/Burnham to go with Adams, Woli and Harris then we'd be looking really good even with just incumbents manning the other 2 spots (Thompkins and Simonese) and Peterman as the first sub/rotation guy
  2. Burnham has proven to be very durable....he also makes the dirty catches..Walker not so much
  3. yup...scratch that idea hahaha
  4. to expensive...probably more than what Randle would have made this year...and 4 years older than Rose
  5. Forgot about the 150k Randle was to make....I would make a hard push for Johnathon Rose for one of the corner spots...Nice size...tough...and probably signable for 115-125k for his second contract
  6. almost like being the tallest midget ...lol....but yeah in a SMS world...your cap at safety shoulnd't exceed 150k for a great National if you ask me...and good one should command 130k..give or take a buck
  7. In a perfect free-agency we sign Chungh the day or 2 before, then use money freed up from no Goosen/Lafrance/Opo/Loffler which frees up about a little over 500k if not more for what we already payed Goose/Opo/Lafrance/Loffler ..so 500k+ of last year committed money is available We give Boateng Opo'ish money say at with 165k and Adeleke a nice 135k to pull him out of Calgary and then with the remaining 200k we pick the receiver we think is the best and aggressively go at him.. We can flip ratio and start 2 imports on defence and 5 on offence and we have already have adequate rotation guys on the defense to rotate Boateng to give him a break...and if we re-up Corney it's even better
  8. yeah...seeing as we are already settled at the QB spot..as well as the QB on defense and only 1 o-line position that we could conceivably even go with what we have...we are sitting pretty nice for free agency and being able to really go hard for the guys we want...shall be interesting to see what we do for the ratio..I think we may see some intriguing surprises in that regard
  9. Hodge has no clue...we got rid of Randal..Leggett..most likely Dressler..Opo...Wild..Lafrance..Goosen salaries...and only real big increase has been to Biggie...plus signed only a whack of teams guys really..Bryant and Medlock most likely got minimal raises..so to say we are tight to cap at this point is extremely laughable....
  10. they just re-upped hardly adequate Edem...any highlight of him I recall last year is usually in chase being beat for a TD
  11. whens the last time we seen that tho since???? and don't recall what happened next play, but I'd rather have a safety pick that pass off...not get there late...a better throw and arcenaeux makes that catch for a TD
  12. been trying to tell you people...safety is easy to fill especially if you have an athletic guy to play it in the traditional way...which we should be doing with the linebacking crew we have. So Jones..Conteh...heck even Hect can man that position adequately with no drop off and you wont even notice Loffler is gone...and really..I'd offer Adeleke 130k hard money in free agency to lure him here...solves safety and a returner option...much better value and probably more impactfull player over course of the year
  13. Me thinks that Loffler is waaaayyyy over valuing himself...upwards of 200k for an extension??...see ya bud...money better spent elsewhere and safety isn't where you spend it...whoever pays that is nuts I guarantee you...if he is gone....you won't even know it or miss him...too many people here are way too enamored with his big hits a few years ago and look past a lot of his deficiencies..such as can't cover, or run with a receiver at all....always late to breaking up a pass as the deep safety...sure he lays a lick on a guy occasionally but who cares when they made the catch anyway..
  14. agreed...hardly connected with any real inside sources...I think he just tosses a lot of "could happen" rumours out there and hopes one will come to fruition here and there and make him look credible My best guess is Chungh wants to see what the market has to offer, and then giving the Bombers the opportunity to match it...and good on him for that
  15. well...we should have no reason making Chungh an offer he can't refuse now you would think...A line with Bryant and Hardrick with a combo of Chungh..Neuf..Gray and Couture is still pretty damn good
  16. Mathews..Roger's.. hardly back up material..in my opinion that a top 1..2 punch in any lineup
  17. basically a default hire as all other avenues withered up...and who's to kow how many people may have been approached and said no thanks....either way...i think both he and Macadoo should be a bit bothered by this as being overlooked originally and are only a hire of convenience
  18. i think if it comes down to being outbid on both..we will go all in on one and roll with Gray/Couture (who-ever wins out) in camp and I'd be fine with that...that extra money that a national lineman would cost us would go a looong way in resigning JSK and bringing in a Posey or Derel Walker
  19. Who would start over Neuf..Not Bladek or St John...and Labbatte is way overated now and just getting accolades on his play 2-3 years ago..last couple years he has been average/adequate at best...sure he looks good compared to the other crap they trotted out..but that doesn't say much
  20. YEAH considering Macadoo was the Asst. Head Coach and was by-passed first by 2 outside hire attempts...that we know of...others may have declined and the Riders kept that out of the news...and now by-passed by the teams ST's coordinator...you have to think he feels lilted/upset/disenchanted...angry??...same with Dickenson to a point..as basically he gets it as the default option, and most likely won't feel to secure there....going to be interesting times in Riderland this year...i almost smell the scent of rubber burning already
  21. And what was the depth of all Harris receptions. Not behind the line of scrimmage and a good majority were like u said..dump offs after going through reads. Majority of yours were first reads and quite often to your wideouts and slots..not the same situ at all..and really proof is in da puddin..look at offensive stats and td's..as we all know a good offence starts and ends with a solid oline..so based on that alone being dead last in offence lands intelligent people to see a bad line.
  22. Crazy you would take Clark.. st john..and your 2 average tackles over ours
  23. Most likely running the short yardage packages and staying in like last year, and I can see it expanded on as well. I would think this year as well..Oshea may give him more meaningfull game reps when game is out of hand on the scoreboard
  24. did you calculate the 1 in 5?..lol....a lot of his were developing plays down the filed or off in the flats...not a qb receiving the snap...turning to his right and tossing all in a second. And if you would honestly say that you would not swap the sask o-line for the winnipeg one..man for man...then you must really have the mentality of most on Rider fans..
  25. well when you run less offensive plays over course of season, use a dumb 80% hitch/screen/dump off offence where qb has ball in his hand for maybe one second (due to crappy o-line) yeah u may see fewer sacks....I seem to recall we led league in rushing..scored most points...and re-watch how that oline totally manhandled your vaunted d-line in the WSF...not to mention what...3 all-stars?...seems to me one team had a far superior o-line 😉
