It sure looks like once MS realised he had Willy, he no longer needed deep receivers.

In all fairness Willy while here did take some brutal hits. Those 79 sacks in one year regardless who's fault they were plus probably as many other hits might have finished breaking the man. Though I am really happy we were able to get rid of a huge salary and get first picks and Heath, I have to admire the man for never having blamed any of his team mates for his problems..  MOS gave him five games to try and work it out but it did not happen. The Best to him in Toronto.

Man are we ever lucky we got the Argos on a bad day! Second and 10...3 yard pass to the flat still.
Chances of Milo fixing this? Not too likely unless he can install in him a brand new version of the  QBsmarts version 16.10.

Drew was way over-rated and way over paid....He is what I always thought a  no 2 serviceable qb....He was carrying a huge weight on his shoulders here because the fans expected him to deliver what he wasn't capable of...A few good games then the real Willy stood up...I hope Milo in T.O. can make something of him.... I wish him well  BUT I hope they don't expect another Ricky Ray cuz it just ain't there.

Alarm bells were ringing when Darian Durant and the hapless Riders started shredding them but they still got enough errors from the Riders and Argos to win the games, but we saw these last two weeks what happens when teams don't make those mistakes. That's the game plan for Winnipeg now, just don't **** around and cough up the ball and they won't beat you.

Actually, in some instances we have been shooting ourselves in the foot all season long. Not to be outdone Briggs takes a bonehead penalty on the  punt return by Fogg. I didn't know it was so hard to learn you don't block the guy in the back. Remember, the back is the side that does not have a face.

Dressler, Smith, Denmark, Adams and sometimes Harris aren't bad at all. They'd look even better if they didn't have so much injury time off.

I look at this $10k fine as Coach Austin being fined $1k per finger. It's his perogative which finger he chooses in accepting this fine from the CFL....?

This thing of interpretation is starting to make the league look like sandbox football. Different teachers, different rules. Those two challenges on the same play bordered on ridiculous. I don't think the refs had any effect on the outcome of our game but if that is the product we are trying to sell in an attempt to get more fans good luck with that.  They tried to cover up the incompetence of the refs by having replays to correct their errors. But the replays are done by other incompetent people. They wanted to stop the holding by DB's by introducing the IC. Now an incidental contact 30 yards from the play gets called. I would assume the league had no confidence in the ability of the refs so took their ability to use  discretion.

Though the score was 20-17 for Calgary, Noeller and 17 consider it a bad game and succumb from  their drunken binge and pass out. The rest of us  enjoy watching the fourth quarter and see the Bombers winning 24-23.

Let's just say MOS had started in his first year with the team he has today. What would be his record now? Unfortunately he started with a crap team and had the patience to chip away until this year we do have a very good team. How good? we don't know because we have had so many injuries to some key offensive stars. Why would his way of doing things change? Next year we will be much better again because of a couple of first round picks and maybe a few FA's wanting to come here. Hey, that article has got to be the best publicity he could wish for.

And this is exactly why I say a loss here is not so vital. I get that beating Calgary now will give the Bombers the belief that "we CAN beat these guys" (Calgary's players in 2001 pointed to the final regular season game in Winnipeg where they won to sneak into the playoffs as the springboard game that gave them confidence that they could compete with the big dogs), but let's face it, the 2001 Bombers lost that Grey Cup because they spent the week "sizing rings for their fingers" as many players on both sides of the ball later admitted - we lost that game due to overconfidence. So let Calgary have all the cockiness in the world. I doubt a win by us this weekend will put much fear into them, since they have already beaten us twice by 2 touchdowns each game, and the scores were not even truly reflective of how dominant they were both times.
Ah, I hear you saying "But this is a different team. They haven't faced us with Matt Nicholls at quarterback!" Just stop for a second, metaphorically remove yourself from the Province of Manitoba for the moment, and re-read that second sentence out loud. Full respect to Nicholls and the job he has done managing the team through this 7 game run, but does that phrase really strike fear into the hearts of the inhabitants of Cowtown, or anyone else outside the 204? As an analogy, Carson Palmer may be a very good QB who can rattle off 7 straight wins with the Arizona Cardinals, but Tom Brady is not going to be intimidated because Palmer is now playing in place of Kurt Warner.
There are ways to beat this Calgary team for sure, but if both teams are playing their best football at the same time on game day and make minimal mistakes, then Calgary is handsomely favoured in that scenario, and should be. I like our odds better flying under the radar, walking in there in November (which, as I said before, is a fairly solid lock for where the West Final is going to be played this year, even if we win this weekend, given that they get all East teams in the final 5 weeks, including 2 against Montreal), catching them on 3 weeks rest and with having played no meaningful football for the better part of a month and a half (I'm calling it now, Stampeders will have enough points to clinch first in the West by week 16), with bad weather possibly playing a part in shutting down their high-octane offense (Calgary in late November, odds are decent that is the case), and maybe they are fat, sassy and dozing while we are battle-tested, riding momentum, and scrappy after fighting BC for 2nd place down the stretch, with a playoff win under our belts in the West semi. That scenario has not been infrequent for Calgary teams in the past.
Not trying to bash the Bombers, cheering madly for a win, especially to solidify a run at second place and a home playoff date, and to keep the (pipe?)dream of first in the West alive, but cheer with the heart and bet with the head is the winning formula, and I'm not pushing all my chips in with the Blue and Gold this weekend, that bet is best saved when we are the final 2 at the table.

At the start of the year like many I was hoping we could end up 9-9. With six games to go we have almost done that. I just can't figure out why some are not wanting to be very happy with what we would have killed for only a few months ago. And... it's not over. I think we have a legit chance at finishing 12-6.
Walters has proven he could get the right players in and could trade well and MOS has shown he can coach those players to exceed. We are now in a position where we can take some serious injury problems without tanking.
    Color me Thankful to both.

As important as the winning is, it's the culture change that's most important to me. Obviously we're not within the walls, but the things we've all read about how the club is operating now, and the respect it's generating from players, agents and management from both leagues, is a really big deal. The WBB FC name was so tarnished before, there's been a LOT of polishing done to get it where it is now. Only a championship will bring it all the way back, but it sure feels like we're at least on the way now...
