No kidding. SMH. The logic shown by some in this thread is disturbing. The fact that the Riders lost some close games makes them better than us, but they fail to recollect that we have 3 games this year that we lost in the final minute of the game. How you can give an 0-8 team more credit for close losses than a 3-5 team is beyond me.

We haven't had a great running back since early in Fred Reid's time here. In a way I don't mind the RB carousel going around until we find one.

Anyway, back to the discussion. I think we should sit all our current starters on Saturday. I believe some of them may be banged up from playing football. It would be poor coaching to not give them all a break. (sarcastica)
 
What a poorly conceived and thought out train of thought. Rest our healthy franchise QB that we are paying 20k a game for, even though he has been medically cleared and played like an allstar that game. Clearly a bad coaching decision to...you know..play him and win the game.
 
....and then wonder in amazement when this train of thought is mocked by nearly everyone except the Rider fans. Same shtick as TEP.

Yea..no question about it. I think the same could be said for most of the teams in the CFL this year. The only team that's looking really good this year is Hamilton, and the only team that is looking really bad is the Riders.

Unlike the Riders in their close losses, we actually looked like the better team in both these games on offence and defence. Both games, STs let us down big time.

Top 3 Worst Starters on Our Team: (if everyone were healthy)
 
1. Greg Peach -  guy should be a platoon player at best
2. JFG - just not CFL quality starter
3. Neufeld - had a strong first game and has struggled mightily since. Breaking down the film he is being exposed to the inside rush. Would be far better suited at RG.
 
Top 3 Most Under rated:
 
1. Picard - I know his snaps are poor but I have looked at a lot of the film and our Guards are making him look really bad. I used to coach OL and that would be my assessment. Our Guards have rarely been able to block one on one with consistency. Moreso Greaves and Neufeld. Chungh can block well but struggles against stunts and blitzes...an experience thing.
2. Bucknor - Teams are throwing at him. They have to throw at someone. He may be the weak link of our secondary but that doesn't necessarily make him weak.
3. Chris Randle - Lots of people saying he is a substandard SAM. I don't for the life of me know why. Thought he has done exactly everything we could hope for at SAM for us. Lot's of people not understanding what a SAM LBer's job is I think.

Sounds like your friend doesn't know much about football and is just being an elitist for whatever reason.

Yea...why else would he sign in Regina. Surely not for the RCMP museum.
 
What's ironic is that knowing Taman's spending habits they probably did overpay to get him to sign.

Has Brackenridge even hit anyone this year? Seen a lot of near misses but not too many collisions.

Starting the play under centre gives it no chance to succeed, as Marve was supposed to check on whether the DE crashes to the middle or comes to the backfield. It was Marve's responsibility to choose the option based on what Foley did at the snap. His choice was grossly incorrect. It was not a bad play call...just very poorly executed. If he hands off to Marshall (based on the replay) we get about 3 yards. If Foley crashes to the middle, Marve goes for distance. However, as the ball is snapped Marve needed to make the right decision. Foley did not fake him out, Marve clearly panicked or just disregarded what his eyes should have been telling him.

Lost in all of this is the fact that Ray pulls down close to 500k a season. That contract does not allow any team to sit him on the bench counting against the cap. The smart move for Toronto is to move Ray and his contract when he is healthy and use some of the cap savings to get Harris to extend a few years and maybe add a quality player or two at the NFL cuts.
That is, of course, predicating on him being healthy enough to play which is no slam dunk. As JBR says, a torn rotator cuff is no joke. It takes a lot of time to regain strength and cannot be rushed. Him throwing 40 yards in practice means literally nothing. Good throwing mechanics and proper footing take a lot of stress off the shoulder. It`s when he needs to rely on arm strength alone that the degree of his injury will be really noticed.
I know, I tore mine a few years back. I could throw leisurely and as long as I was well planted the arm strength was there. Anytime I was off balance or trying to release quickly is when the shoulder turned to mush and you would lose ALL power and get devastating pain when throwing. Couldn`t throw a football 10 on just arm strength.

This is pure Tuscaloosa Blue garbage being spewed. What shocked me the most in this thread is that people are still posting at OB. Haven't been there in over a year and at that time there was literally zero activity in the last month. Good on Colin for paying attention to it and trying to revive it. My wife didn't speak to me at all on game day during the Kelly era. She just knew no good would come of it. I swear to god I think I was on the internet forums about 20 hours a day voicing my frustrations that whole year. I was like Nate, holed up in my basement and screeching like a bat everytime my wife would come down and turn on the lights to remind me to eat, pee, or sleep. As a couple we refer to it as my "lost year". I would add a lol to the end of this but I'm not really making this up. Not funny. That man owes me a year of my life.
