  1. Weren't ppl saying shaq looked good
  2. Is he? I didn't watch the game but people who were watching the stream said he was inconsistent. I trust the coaching staff whatever they do will be the right choice. Inconsistent maybe, but he was still more effective than anyone not named Willy. 6.9 yards per play in which he was involved and 14 points scored overall. No matter how you look at it, Marve has been able to move the offense and put points on the board on a consistent basis. It would be absolutely foolish to cut the guy. You remind me of Roadgriller and his fetish for Goltz. BTW I'm not saying Marve is anything like Goltz. He might be inconsistent but he did some things and was more effective than the other back ups so let's not cut the guy you have a very low bar for what you deem a fetish
  3. sounds like they might replace him with Kevin Vickerson next week, wonder if they'll put Christo on the PR.
  4. I think he might be one of the more athletic guys to ever suit up for the bombers. I've seen videos of his leaping abilities and its just nuts. There's got to be something out there in the world of athletics for a guy like that. This sounds corny but he should consider giving pro wrestling a shot.
  5. yea he's got a GF in Winnipeg and I think he's doing some personal training here now as well
  6. Is that really the case? Hunt only has 3 seasons in, so he hasn't qualified for the pension yet. I'd have to think that a few more years of making north of 100K would be pretty tempting.
  7. I don't really remember Hall having penalty problems
  8. as some of you may have heard the NFL is expanding practice roster size from 8-10. What's worse for bomber fans is 2 of these spots can be reserved for players who have accrued no more than 2 years of experience (as opposed to players who have accrued no more than 1 year of experience). That means guys like Bilukidi and Mulumba, who previously would have had to make an active roster in the NFL now are eligible to be thrown on the practice roster this season. Mulumba was likely to catch on with someones active roster this season but this very well could delay Bilukidi's arrival to Winnipeg. http://www.zanesvilletimesrecorder.com/story/sports/nfl/2014/08/23/guys-bengals-bubble-need-burst/14486653/
  9. Muamba only had 1 tackle and 1 assisted yesterday. Not sure how many snaps he took but obviously thats much different than the 11 last week.
  10. another one of GB's beat writers are saying that the packers might even be able to trade Mulumba if he doesn't crack the roster, so sure sounds like he thinks there'll be demand for him elsewhere. I agree with what others around here have been saying, Bilukidi is looking like this year, Mulumba probably next.
  11. Now that training camp is under way, just wondering if anyone has any insight into who we might expect to shake loose from the crop of bomber picks and former bombers in the NFL right now as I don't follow it too closely. Bilukidi as I understand is in tough to make it in cincy and is no longer PR eligible. Sounds like he could be here by the end of the year. What's the word on Mulumba, Muamba, and Mathews? Thanks
  12. just wondering about this guy. He's on the sidelines at games and Jonny posted a picture of him in the locker room on social media. Does he have an official position with the team or something I'm unaware of?
  13. It's really incredible how many of Walters' moves have met and exceeded expectations when they could have blown up in his face. Trade for a green QB and have just about 0 experience behind him - Willy looks to be one of the top QBs in the league right now. Signs Nick Moore to a big contract which places #1 Receiver expectations on him... So far Moore is meeting those expectations. Go into camp with two rookie Ks and release one earlier than necessary....Kickings been just about perfect. there's a few other moves that could be placed along these ones as well.
  14. some of the questions were just plain bad. Do you think you'll have anyone on the 1 game injured list to start the season? this after discussing ford and cotton both being injured to start the season.
  15. I don't get it. He didn't have time to make the team, did they not see that coming? were they just hoping he'd shine in his 1(?) practice?
  16. seasons like last year are absolutely poisonous to a franchise. If anything I'm shocked there's 22 500 sold. I'm sure we didn't gain 1 single fan last year.
  17. I went for a short time today. Can't say anyone really jumped out at me other than aaron woods. they were running a red zone skelly and he had 3 touchdowns on a couple nice catches. Nick moore looked good. I didn't have a roster so couldn't tell anyone apart. that's all i really got for you.
  18. Terrell Parker could still be a possibility in the middle could he not?
  19. your right it won't happen. why would BC trade their 1st round prick for two late round picks only to trade two higher picks for a lower 1st round pick?
  20. I've contributed a lot to this thread, Mike, including posting a link to an article in the Sun that I disagreed with, but thought it relevant. Yeah I've added some offensive humour, but it's only in response to the extremely offensive bleeding heart nonsense I've seen posted here (drunk driving - shame on you guys for dragging that issue into this discussion), so now we're both offended, and I really didn't want to get into name-calling etc as that just takes away from the debate. I agree that this is an emotional issue and given we are human it's basically impossible to separate the emotion here, especially when given the gruesome nature of what happened. I blame Li for his actions (for going off his meds when he knew he was ill, at the very least) but I also blame the RCMP for just standing around for hours, just letting it happen. If this had happened a few hundred miles south Li would have waved his knife and head of the victim at the cops and gotten a double tap to the heart and one between the eyes and the cannibalism would have never happened. But it did, and they just sat there watching, and I've never really felt the RCMP apologized for that. Part of the issue here too is perspective. Some of us are old enough to have nephews and in Iso's case sons that are the same age as the poor guy who was killed and eaten by this nutbar and when you have sons that age, all you can think about is what would have happened and how you would have felt if that boy had been your kid. I can't imagine the trauma and suffering of that family who had to endure that. To watch a guy do that to your beautiful loved son and then get to walk free after a few years of "treatment" just defies all logic and reason. A guy in Edmonton just got 26 months in prison for killing a police dog for goodness sakes. So I know where Iso is coming from here. Should we just blindly trust our doctors and physicians in these cases? Well ok. But the fact that he's now considered a safe risk to the public is only half the issue here. It just doesn't seem to some of us that this guy has truly paid for what he did, and I'm not going to apologize for feeling that way, even if it's "borderline offensive" to some of you. If they would have killed him at that point they would be in court being tried for murder themselves. So don't hold your breath for an apology.
  21. I love how people discredit every good selection made by Mack. There were tons of people that wanted guys like Sisco and Scott Mitchell picked over Watson and Henoc. The problem is those were the only two good selections. well I don't believe that's correct but whatever. I suspect if you looked at macks draft record it would be on par with other gms in the league. I feel Mack's biggest flaw was inhuman patience. He was acting as if he had 10 years to build a competitive team. Too many projects, too many guys who had to return to school, etc. The most damning fact of Mack's reign was Chris Kowalczuk staying here as long as he did. Here's a guy who's 29 years old who hasn't progressed beyond being the 7th(?) O lineman in his time here and yet he's still on the team. Eventually you have to cut these guys loose and get some new blood in there.
  22. I wonder if Hogue is here to play DE. Assuming we keep Henoc, we'd be set at MLB and 6'2 245 is big for WILL not to mention we've got Wild and Parker there.
  23. Try sitting in the stands for a full season of games where the team is out of it after 1 quarter. This team needs to get competitive in a hurry. There was 0 entertainment value in those games last year. A total chore to go to.
  24. Vega is a great signing. Awesome leadership guy I don't mind it, hes a solid player and he seems like a good guy but I'm a little surprised with the pageantry considering that wasn't exactly an area of weakness and he's not exactly a star. I don't recall off season press conferences being held for anyone but QBs around here.that being said, definitely a solid addition to the team. To a common fan who only reads headlines, a player returning from the NFL after a full year hiatus is probably a pretty big deal. Good point. You're right.
