  1. Compare building a football team to building a car. The OL is the engine. Receivers are the spoiler.
  2. 31 years old , under-sized with 4 awful playoff games under his belt... 6 goals a year, 20 assists... signed for almost $6 mill cap hit I'll pass. His only trade value is to a young, non-playoff team that needs a safe, boring Dman.
  3. Small guys are undervalued - look at Perrault - we're not getting a 1st and a prospect for Enstrom... Buff, absolutely. Enstrom will get us nothing at trade deadline after this year's playoff performance.
  4. Or Waud changes the ratio. And you have Kohlert, JFG, Bastien filling one spot. You're right - its kind of crazy to think #2 will step in and perform... but we need him to do just that. DL is the most realistic place for a new prospect to come in and perform asap.
  5. CFL News @CFL_News #CFL sources: DB/LB Garrett Waggoner has been granted National status and will be in #CFL Supplemental Draft. via @JDunk12 Any intel?
  6. $$$ I thought Hammie might bite - they must have a ton of $$ tied up on their DL
  7. Whoever we draft at #2, I think we are hoping he performs at some point this season... Unless we're fine with JFG and Kohlert all year.
  8. Actually, a bit surprised we couldn't package Morley in a trade - he had a decent season last year.
  9. If Boyko doesn't sign, you have to pick him or Mateas.
  10. Tricky part is that if the bombers feel that Waud can step in and rotate with Thomas for the season, you've changed the ratio and don't need two NI RECs. (3 OL, REC, DT, CB, WIL) Either way, its a big gamble that #2 can step in and perform... the more I look at it, the more Waud looks like the 'safest' pick.
  11. The Wild just upped our draft pick! If Detroit beats Tampa, I think we're up to 25th... hard to really understand though but I think if none of Cdns, Anaheim and Tampa advance to conference finals, Jets pick 23rd Go Flames.
  12. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/hockey/mirtle-modern-nhl-general-managers-need-to-be-smart-rational-and-ruthless/article24132157/?click=sf_globe Good article - a bit scary as Chevy seems pretty loyal to the core... I think trades are coming back in style - too many teams in cap trouble. I think Chevy will surprise us and add a couple legit pieces for a cup run next year - maybe even someone like Patrick Sharp
  13. Don't need three giants... Scheifele-Lowry-Eberle would be a sweet line.
  14. My bomber picks, in order of preference: 2. Waud, Demski, McEwan 11. Ruby, Campbell, Archambault 15. Abankwah, Bodanis, Harty (Try and package 33 and 38 for one of Cal's 3rds) 33/38. Rea, Smith, Omara, Norzill, Treloar?
  15. They won't get that much. Oilers aren't in a strong negotiating position, everyone knows the cupboard is pretty much bare. No one is trading a young star D for a young star RW. 1st round, Enstrom, Comrie for Eberle - that's about as far as I'd go.
  16. Jets' 1st, Enstrom and a prospect (Armia or Phillips) for Eberle and a prospect (Moroz or Davidson) - that seems like a workable trade.
  17. Alex Marvez ✔ @alexmarvez .@TyVarga said 25 #NFL teams contacted him over past 2 weeks touching base as draft approaches. Projected as both RB & FB @SiriusXMNFL Probably looking at Varga in the 6th or 7th rounds now...
  18. Chiarelli will trade the oilers second first rounder for Lucic... callin' it.
  19. Penguins are hittin the golf course... Enstrom, Burmi and a 1st for Malkin?
  20. Enstrom long term at $5.75 cap hit? I see your Toby and raise you a Tlusty. Setoguchi. Read em and weep.
  21. Just really too bad that Buff is so dead set on playing D... as a third line winger and powerplay D, he's a force. As a defenceman, he can be a difference maker for both teams. Maybe he can be teamed with Myers, I don't see the sense of the Myers-Enstrom pairing - neither are really physical D and rely on their eight foot long sticks... Buff-Myers Chiarot-Trouba Enstrom-Stuart Morrissey in AHL until first injury If Buff hasn't changed by trade deadline, move him.
  22. Kent Ridley @RidleyScouting Connor Halliday (Wazzu) threw what seemed like a million passes in 2014 but still had completion% of 67.3; Not getting much talk but should. Rids likes him... stats look pretty impressive, broken leg at the wrong time Rule changes would really benefit a guy like this, if things open up, CFL can really be a showcase for guys trying to get their NFL shot
  23. He is? He's literally the exact same size as Paris Cotton. Thought Cotton was lighter...anyway, 5'8 200 out of college seems like a power back Have only watched his google stuff but he sure seems to get his shoulders down and straight arm...
  24. Nice draft. Demski and Ruby would be huge. Not sold on Maxx Forde. Would love to see Walters pick up Matt Rea in the 4th. Then again, Waud at #2 changes our ratio and suddenly NI REC is not as big a need... And Murray-Lawrence is that 'thunder' back that Bombers are looking for...
