  1. "Richards over Waud is baffling" ... its about where help is needed most We don't need help on DL? I know we're all excited about Westerman but he's got only two or three years left really
  2. Chungh is a fine pick Richards over Waud is baffling Morgan seems like a Mack pick - hope it works Normand is a decent pick Lattanzio is a nice fourth round steal Surprised we went with LB instead of a DL/OL project in the 6th\ Hope someone can longsnap Excited about Yantz My vote - skeptical but at least we didn't screw up #2 overall
  3. Translation: I didn't make this mock draft so it sucks. Wah. And its Groulx over Waud because: a. Westerman changes the draft b. OL not as deep as it once looked... really only five guys that can step in next year or possibly this year c. I think Walters wants/needs a safe pick... personally, I'd take Waud Hilarious, that you're freaking out about Mrarube - him and Forde are very similar players
  4. I think Walters makes the trade down to #8... him and Austin seem to have a history of deals Groulx, Harty and Forde would be fine too... Feel like Harty is pretty similar to Kohlert but I'd be fine with him or Richards, like the way Abankwah caught everything when the pressure was on, would be nice SB/RB Coombs type Forde and Ajufo are pretty close - only picked Ajufo because of Forde's shoulder injury
  5. Assuming no trades... but I would swap 2 with Hammie for 8 and 17 or 8 and Plesius or Prime 1. Ottawa - Mateas - Jets passed, have to take him, already have an NI OT 2. Winnipeg - Groulx - A bit of uncertainty with Waud, have to take best OT option 3. Toronto - Chungh - Keeping and Durie getting up there; OL probably the best pick but maybe REC 4. Montreal - Durant - With Foucault, no need for OL; could use some NI REC 5. BC - Ruby - Wally needs OL help 6. Sask - McEwan - Could be Demski but OL has holes 7. Edmonton - Campbell - Hervey's crazy! Or he suddenly realizes that Cauchy Muamba sucks 8. Hamilton - Demski - Hamilton crushes our dreams... unless we've swapped picks 9. Calgary - Ackie - Best player available 10. Ottawa - Murray-Lawrence - Ottawa needs NI REC 11. Winnipeg - Mrarube-Ajufo - Depth, learn from Westerman 12. Toronto - Lavoie - OL depth 13. Montreal - Archambault - BPA, Depth up the middle 14. BC - Bodanis - Wally really needs OL help... might go for a kicker, Treloar? 15. Winnipeg - Abankwah - Any receiver... I'm cheering for Abankwah 16. Edmonton - Shorthill - BPA; Hervey realizes that he should have picked OL in first round 17. Hamilton - Boyko - Austin takes a risk just to spite Huff 18. Calgary - Richards - Sinopoli's replacement 33. Rea - Could be a pleasant surprise 38. Lawlor - or some DL/OL project, don't need more LB/DB special teamers
  6. not at all, on draft day, tsn talked about him being one step away from nfl... Same risk as a Brett jones pick - all or nothing
  7. might lean a bit towards waud at 2 now, solidify DL as our 7th
  8. Oilers have four young superstars that all try to do too much when the team is down... Now they'll have a fifth - something's gotta give
  9. Difference is that mulumba and Etienne picks were going against the odds, Mitchell was a safe pick that was a bust
  10. Burmistrov sure is lighting it up
  11. You guys may be missing the concept of 'surprise' cut Peach, Fitzgerald, unamba are not really surprise cuts like a hefney type My three cuts are all possible but yes it would be 'surprising'
  12. Borderline NFL player who had three good years in the CFL... I'll take it.
  13. Washington or Zach Anderson on D Neufeld on O - Everett beats him out
  14. Is there some way we can work Ameet Paul into this thread
  15. Larry Taylor was still in the league?
  16. So where does bridge go if he doesn't get signed? CDn qb in first round?
  17. Well, you kinda are. With many roster changes, on O, there could be a 'settling time' not related to schemes, but I do get what you're saying about MB. Not known as a force, as an OC, he does have to step it up. But, here's the thing, last year, the O did look like a functioning machine before the wheels fell off. The Offence moved the ball very well in the opening 3rd of the season and looked good in doing it. Now who can say specifically where and when it fell apart? RB? Scheme? Injuries? O-line? Coaching? Lots of areas to spread the blame. But I did see improvement in the O when the wheels were still on. Many roster changes? Bryant and Picard will not have a 'learning curve'... Neither will Willy, Moore, Denmark, Kohlert, Cotton... The wheels fell off because MB went increasingly conservative and max protect on his schemes. Lots of times he set Willy up last year from what I saw. Anyway, we'll find out soon enough.
  18. 1/4 of the cap is now tied up in QB and OL, Bob Wylie is full time now... if there's a problem now, its on MB's schemes. This must be the earliest an OC has been thrown under the bus. Then again, we did have Crowton. Not throwing anyone under the bus... but last year and in year's past, Bellefuile's schemes have trended towards conservative and a stationary QB. Just saying that we have possibly the best OL coach, a very strong OL and a good QB... no excuses now Still confident that Walters et al find the powerback that Bellefuile needs though, could be a good year
