  1. Crazy. Most people I saw weren't complaining about Ladd but saying he looked like he was injured. Only reason that I wouldn't re-sign him is that his style of play shortens his career.
  2. Anyone know the odds of Super Regional invites that make the NFL? Are these more Gaydosh Sewell 'arrive in a couple years' guys?
  3. The top six in these ranking seem to have legit NFL shots... three of them being pretty much locks. I think we still take Waud or Demski with number two. Would love to see Ruby still there are 11. Wouldn't pick Chungh or Groulx, if they are that close to NFL, they will want to try again after their first contract. If the CFL is going to continue to rank without considering NFL interest, they should expand the list to Top 30.
  4. Kirk Penton @PentonKirk #Bombers have added receiver Ja-Mes Logan, DB Winston Wright and punter Anthony Santella from their mini-camp. #CFL Who's Anthony Santella
  5. 17to85's Mini-Camp Review: - Lots of DB prospects, not like when that bum Taman was here, that guy traded away our picks and couldn't find a DB to save his life, etc etc etc - REC looking good, just like when Mack was here, that guys wasn't so bad you know, he really brought in some nice talent when you etc etc etc - Damn kids were playin loud music outside my hotel room, couldn't get to sleep, whats the matter with the world these days, etc etc etc I'd chip in for that.
  6. randy turner ✔ @randyturner15 I still can't believe the Jets season peaked with Gene Principe standing in a bar next to a woman with a pink balloon penis on her head.
  7. Might be able to pry the Schenn brothers out of Philly... they are in cap hell with no prospects in the pipe. Buff, Phillips, Armia might get the Schenns.
  8. Buff and Ladd are still 'Thrasher/Jets' - Ladd was bumped to first line and Buff converted to D in Atlanta... Chevy's got a real decision to make with both of them Little and Wheeler are locked in at decent prices... but you have to try and ditch Enstrom, he was really exposed in this series These guys are good but not Perry, Getzlaf, Kesler good... not many of those guys around of course, even less with Winnipeg as a preferred destination
  9. Still say Ladd has had a groin injury for about a month now... He will be 31 when he hits UFA - I think you hurt the team if you trade him but probably should just let him walk in a year or re-sign at a cut rate Stemp and Slater are 32... not resigning either of them Really would try for Stafford for 3 years, Frolik too Buff and Enstrom are 30 and played like playoff rookies - probably time to cut bait Potential is there... Thrashers core is running out of time though
  10. Chevy's got his answer... the Thrashers core is just not good enough Next year
  11. Lowry will be more than a 'third line' centre... he'll be our Kesler in a couple years. Worked hard.
  12. Corey perry is just better than our whole team. He's mind-fkd everyone he's up against Like Lowry against kesler, him and Stuart have been our best players Enstrom just leaves guys in front, at least he's rushing a bit this game though
  13. Enstrom is awful, perry just plays with him Buff and trouba trying too hard
  14. Aside from Hall, there's not really anyone on Edmonton that I'd trade for... don't really need Eberle is we've got Petan and Ehlers in development. Musil is probably their only decent prospect that might be available.
  15. Jamie Phillips has trade value as a prospect
  16. So we should let Frolik walk and bring Burmistrov back... okey dokey.
  17. We signed Shea Weber! Looks good to me. I'd be happy with receiver, DL and OL from our first three picks.
  18. Good to see RBs in camp that suit MB's playcalling. Cdn receiver depth is a concern... especially if we have two starters penciled in for ratio Between Hurl, Newman, Briggs, even Sherman, should have someone that can play WIL Really looking like we need to go Demski or Waud at #2
  19. Yup. But that's also a ton of money tied up in import receivers. Guess it depends how much $$ was freed up by Burris 'restructuring'... offence starters could have 50% of cap tied up in 12 players
  20. BRADENTON, FLA. - As if Johnny Adams hadn’t impressed the coaching staff enough during the first two days of Bombers mini-camp, the defensive back out of Michigan State decided one more day of sublime coverage couldn’t hurt. Adams recorded three interceptions over the first two days of mini-camp, and then he added a fourth on Tuesday morning when the Bombers held a 90-minute workout to close out the three-day evaluation event at IMG Academy. “Being in the right spot is better than the picks sometimes, because somebody could tip the ball and you could be five yards away from the wide receiver and catch the pick,” Adams said. “Being in the right spot for me is better than catching the pick, but if I’m in the right spot and I get a pick it’s a bonus. I look at it like I’m working hard and I get rewarded for working hard.” Adams is already under contract with the Blue and Gold, so there’s no doubt he’ll be at main training camp in June at the University of Manitoba’s outdoor football fields. Some of the other 51 mini-camp participants weren’t under contract going into the weekend, but their agents might be hearing from general manager Kyle Walters soon. One such player who stood out was receiver Ja-mes Logan, who played at Ole Miss and caught nearly every ball thrown his way, no matter the degree of difficulty. “It went pretty well,” Logan said. “I had to get adjusted to the first day, second day, the waggle. I caught on to it pretty quick, so from there it was just football. I feel pretty good, but I’m going to do better.” The top priority for the Bombers going into the mini-camp was finding linebackers, and they believe they have what they need. They just weren’t sure yet which ones were going to get an opportunity at training camp. TraShaun Nixon got kudos from head coach Mike O’Shea on Sunday, but he wasn’t the only one who stood out. “There’s a decent mix of size and athleticism and speed,” general manager Kyle Walters said. “It’s a good problem to have, to make sure we get the right four or five, whatever that number is, that we bring up to Winnipeg.” The Bombers, according to a source, signed five players to contracts during the camp, including linebackers Kenny Tate and C.J. Wilson, running back Carlos Anderson, and receivers Lavon Downs and Jhomo Gordon. Walters expects to promote approximately 20 mini-camp players to main camp in June. MINOR GLITCH The mini-camp ran smoothly for the most part at IMG Academy, but Walters didn’t hold back when asked if anything hadn’t gone as smoothly as he had hoped it would. “What disappointed me was the breakfast hall wasn’t open two mornings in a row,” Walters said. “From our standpoint, when you look at the time and energy that we put into here and there was a screw-up by somebody down here and it was embarrassing for us to show up at the cafeteria ... “To their credit, they realized the mistake and scrambled.” The Bombers didn’t miss any practice time because of the mix-up. Another possible location for CFL teams to conduct their mini-camps is Historic Dodgertown in Vero Beach, Fla., where Montreal and Edmonton are conducting their workouts this month. Saskatchewan, Calgary and Toronto also use IMG for their mini-camps. COMING ALONG Many eyes were on Winnipeg native Jordan Reaves at mini-camp, and it was a mixed bag of results for the 25-year-old son of Bomber great Willard Reaves. Jordan Reaves, who hasn’t played competitive football since 2005, dropped a lot of balls on Day 1, looked much better on Day 2, and injured his left leg on Day 3 and didn’t finish the practice. “We understood going in that it’s going to require some work,” O’Shea said. “(Receivers coach) Markus (Howell) was good with him. He gave him a specific task every practice that he had to work on and focus on, and Jordan improved every day.” The other two Canadian receivers in camp, Kris Bastien and Ezra Millington, committed themselves well. As of now, they are the backups to Winnipeg’s two starting Canadian receivers, Rory Kohlert and Julian Feoli-Gudino.
  21. Buff, Kostalek and Jamie Phillips for Hall
  22. Galley talked about Buff taking long shifts early in Game 1... seems like he gets tired and makes bad decision in the third. Sure would like to see him moved to forward again. Jets have pretty much dropped the fourth line... I was worried about Pavs hot-streak ending just as the playoffs started... his annual 12 game streak is definitely over. Maybe Hutch is due?
  23. What about Henry? If they don't want him I would hope the Bombers do. Paden seemed pretty decent too... either way, someone will shake loose
