  1. Ahh twitter.... I'm fighting the same urge myself! Damnit Banks....
  2. Re: Renaud's first down toss. It's playing to win, nothing more. I don't care what the score is, you play to beat the opponent. We didn't draw up somehing special to embarrass the Argos. They did a fine job of that themselves, and we took advantage. What a refreshing change. Us, not the opponent, smelling blood and going for the kill. Love it.
  3. Really? Attitude related? I'm sure they weren't expecting KBanks of 5 yrs ago when they brought him in. He's been that much worse? And here I thought it would be Jets news that would have people scratching their heads this weekend.
  4. Buff's the guy I'd much rather see in trade rumors, instead of Kane. 29 yrs old. Only signed for 1 more year after '14/15. Is he a D or a FW. Committment to fitness, questionable. If Philly comes calling with a legit offer, Chevy better strongly consider.
  5. Figured it was a good time send out a PSA to watch for the fake twitter accounts popping up. Embarrassingly, I just fell for a fake Bob Mac handle that said "BREAKING: E.Kane to Mtl for Eller and a 1st". I just about fell out of my chair.
  6. What's everyone expecting out of Grigsby tomorrow? Other than RB I think our offence will be way better than last year. On D, ya win some, ya lose some. Wild gets the start, but so does Dunn.... Here's hoping for a MUCH better effort than we saw last season...and hoping ticket sales pick up, we got S.I. in town, let's show 'em how we party!
  7. A deal that would focus on Kane going and strictly pick(s) coming back defies all logic, IMO. Kane, with warts and all, is a proven commodity. Look up his 5on5 numbers...one of the games best scorers, period. Loads to work on, but he's 22 and signed long term. To me, it's as simple as put him with Scheif and Wheels all year. If he can't produce then, consider moving him. Only receiving picks means the team is taking a step towards a rebuild rather than a step towards playoffs. I know, we're not winning Lord Stanley's Grail anytime soon, but I thought doing everything we can to get in the playoffs was a logical next step.
  8. Jets pushing for #1 pick? I doubt they pull it off, what would it take? @GareJoyceNHL: Hard push for #1 overall by Vancouver & Winnipeg. Most yrs I don't see it happening but think there's >50% chance it happens.
  9. To me, the problem is the start time, not the day of the week. No reason to start games later than 7. 7:30 start means over by 10:30. Large % of the crowd should be home by shortly after 11. Not terrible.
  10. This thread will soon join the likes of "Oh no, we didn't get Burris, we're screwed!". Much ado about nothing. We're 7 days out still. If they aren't at 25K+ early next week than maybe there's a conversation. I still think we get close to 30K. What did people expect when we lost 3000 season ticket holders?
  11. Pardon my ignorance, but why the love for Lopez? 4 yrs in the league, 3 teams and 0 tackles?
  12. Only 26 still....I'm fine with 4/5 yr term. $$$ mentioned here seems reasonable, < $4M. Get 'er done and get on to the hard decisions...Pavelec, Kane, etc.
  13. I assume, *IF* he did it would be in favour of keeping Marve on the roster... ...but based on yesterday, and TC reports I've read, I can't see Brohm beating out Hall for a spot.
  14. Football is HERE! First mistake by a vet tonight... Bonus, World Cup starts this week too: I'm out...
  15. competing against a fading Montreal team, an expansion Ottawa team and the Argos? Yeah I suspect they'll wind up looking like they're a better team than they are again. A gutted SSK, gong show in EDM, iffy Lulay, iffy QBs in CAL ....is there anyone left ...? BOMBERS vs. redblacks Grey Cup 2014. Book it.
  16. Finally. Football is back. Amen to that. See y'all at IGF tonight!
  17. Cramped, sure. If you're 300+ lbs maybe. $40 a year...enjoy spending that on gas by the 2nd home game. Last 2/3 of the year the P&R was run perfectly, IMO, so same as usual for this guy.
  18. Phillip Hunt, a third-year backup who is transitioning from 4-3 defensive end to 3-4 outside linebacker, has suffered a torn ACL. Hunt had successful ACL surgery today (August 15, 2013) http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/08/15/phillip-hunt-becomes-fourth-eagle-to-tear-an-acl/
  19. That's probably how Canad Inns got tagged by Rider fans a couple years back...
