Not sure if you were being serious or facetious (always hard to tell on this site), but assuming serious, I agree.

Maas actually praised the Bombers a ton. He said they tried everything they could to score TDs and our défense just kept stopping them. Pointed out that our defense is the only one in the league that can just shut them down and that they won’t have to play us again unless it’s in the playoffs.

Said that us not having a lot of passing yards isn’t really worth celebrating since they’re a team that’s good at stopping the pass, but they had gameplanned to stop the run and they weren’t able to thanks to Streveler and Harris.

Said that anyone who lines up against Willie J will be better for it because of how good he is.

Honestly, even what he said about the penalties was fair. He basically said that guys get heated in these games and the refs seemed to be letting it slide both ways and then suddenly they didn’t.

I don’t like Maas at all, but I found nothing wrong with that interview. Spent more time talking about how good we are than making excuses.

Maybe not but it’s pretty hard to stop a stallion after he gets going. Besides, I’d expect LaPo to add a few more wrinkles to the offence to include Whitehead and Demski etc. That should give pause to any defence that wants to commit early.

Also, people have been saying for ages that they “just have to stop Harris” in order to stop us, which pretty much no one has been able to do. I don’t see why stopping two running threats would be easier.

Streveler has to learn to pass from the pocket. Not on every play but he does have to learn to stand in there & go thru his reads. Dieter Brock came to the Bombers with a strong arm & nothing else. He could run as he was athletic but he struggled throwing the ball. Head Coach Bud Reilly turned him into a roll out passer where he only had to read one side of the field & he routinely threw for 3,000 yards. When Ray Jauch got here he helped Brock throw from the pocket & progress thru his reads. He went from a 3,000 yard passer to a qb who could throw for 4000 to almost 5,000 yards a season. Streveler will need time to develop into a complete qb. The guy has a strong arm like Brock. But is LaPo the guy to teach him?

Maybe not, but I think Buck Pierce might be.

Strev just not comfortable passing, but if he ever figures that out, he might just be something one day.

Thought Osh was gonna have a coronary with the poor time management at the end...

I was happy to see Osh get that mad. It shows he doesn’t just accept mediocrity. I think a lot of us see his demeanour in interviews and think that’s his demeanour with the team.

  5. For those that were questioning our drafting, the amount of play we’ve gotten out of 2019 draft picks has been incredible. Drew Desjarlais came in for much of the last game after Speller’s injury, Hallet forced and recovered a fumble, Kongbo has come as advertised and Exhumé heads the league in special teams tackles. Had Oliveira not been injured I imagine we’d have seen a thing or two from him as well st this point. Looking good!

  6. What is our O supposed to do when they have two less possessions thanks to two great punt return TDs, a fumbled punt return, and Calgary had a seven minute drive? Two of our, what, four maybe? possessions have resulted in field goals and one should’ve been a touchdown on a perfect pass if not for the idiot refs. They’ve moved the ball well, only two bad plays, neither of which were Nichols’ fault: the blindside sack untouched and the Harris untouched hit on second and two. Handing it to Harris on that play is what EVERYONE here would want, the lack of a block isn’t Nichols or Lapos fault. Calgary has given up ONE play over 30 yards this season, so yeah, throwing deep balls probably isn’t the smartest move.

nichols hasn’t been good most of the year. Lapo has made some questionable calls this year. Our offence has struggled moving the ball at times this year. NONE of those things have been true today.

Give your damn heads a shake people. Jesus Christ this place is volatile and idiotic sometimes.

you know I am a bomber partisan down to my DNA but after watching the other games this week, I'm just hoping to see a football game between two competent team tonight.

I literally told a friend today that it’s not that I don’t appreciate the Bombers blowing teams out, but I was legitimately bored during the second half of our last two games and the overall quality of football being played this season has been atrocious. I want us to win tomorrow, but it would be nice if we win in a competitive game. I mean, I won’t complain if we have another blowout, maybe just save all the points for the second half and make it look close in the first half.
