Yes, injuries have limited his mobility that's for sure. He still could have made some kind of effort after tossing a dump pass right into the arms of the defender. Davis must've have been his 4th or 5th read lol.

I'll stick up for Matt a bit here, I know I know.  June  2013 exhibition game against the Riders. Eskimos qb Matt Nichols throws interception and gets blocked trying to tackle Carlos Thomas on his way in with the pick 6.  Nichols got smoked and blew his ACL and was out for the season.  He may have wised up a bit on that front. Not the qb's job to make tackles, far too much to risk when they do.

Whenever I’ve heard O’Shea talk reviewing game film, it’s always “we”. The same thing applies to planning for the next game. O’Shea doesn’t just put stamp approval on game plans until he, and the co-ordinates, review what they think is a plan to win that game against whichever opponent. He as much said it again on the last Coaches’ show that they will evaluate to see if changes are warranted.
LaPo, Hall and O’Shea, are all responsible for the game plan and who the QB will be. I don’t believe, at this stage, that they are talking giving Streveler more time other than in the packages they’ve already shown us. They love Nichol’s preparation and still think he’s their best option. He just maintains he thinks “how do you win the game.” O’Shea says he doesn’t believe he’s being being stubborn in this regard.
The same for Flanders..”he’s a very good football player behind a very good football player.”

and I've never said 'I know this is what's going on'  I'm making assumptions... this is what fans do.  Portray thoughts to create discussion.  With the direction this team is headed, I think delving into this area of the team is arguably just as important as what's going on on the field.  If this crap continues, I can see a divided room on the horizon.  I just hope to hell it doesn't come to that!

I know Matt Nichols is a good QB. He's playing in the CFL at a high level. Very few people in this world can do what he does.
I also think he's injured and his accuracy and timing is affected. I would like to see Streveler in there more, especially late in the game.
I also KNOW that I don't know what's going inside the room. I KNOW that I don't see the game film. I KNOW not to pretend I know what Lapo or MOS think.
The only thing that pains me is people who pretend to know what is going on.

What? The game was still a one-score game with 9 minutes left in the 4th (15-22) and with 2 minutes left in the 4th (18-25)... certainly giving up +500 yards isn't ideal, but up until that point the D had pretty much solely kept the Bombers in that game. I'm not saying our D is good by any stretch, but they did a kept the Stamps off the scoreboard for close to 50 minutes of the game. If the offense responds when it is 15-22 with a major, or even just a sustained drive - maybe they get the breaks they needed.
Please don't try to make this nickname a thing... just... don't.

Unfortunately, I believe the Rider players are more passionate and excited than the “look-at-tape-then-flush” Bomber players who can’t overcome poor execution..after 10 games..
Lots of questions will be answered this weekend..

That ball wasn't in a position where Adams had any reasonable chance to catch it.  You're confusing contested catches where the ball is put into a spot where a receiver can gain body position and win the ball.  I've never seen a receiver catch a ball like that one, stop dead and fight through two defenders moving toward the ball.
Adams has made a ton of brutal drops this season.  That wasn't one of them.

That's not what you said though...you didn't say anything about the 2nd or 3rd quarters or falling behind...
"Lapo has rarely committed to the run in his career as a play caller.  That’s one of his faults IMO.  He makes his offences one dimensional and he’s rarely had the talent to get away with it, and it’s rare to have that talent.  Like even BLM and Reilly stall out without some run complement."
which is not true...as I pointed out Harris nearly set records for rushing and receiving last year, and has a bundle of rushing yards this year.

That’s 100% one of those catches that looks way easier than it is to actually make. He had two guys beat and now all of a sudden, the throw is short and he’s essentially boxed out by two cover guys and has turned into a defender and people are saying it’s more on Adams. Kinda gets me confused to say the least.
Adams did his job on that play, he got wide f’n open for a free TD if the ball is on the mark. Nichols didn’t deliver.

... which pass from Nichols to Darvin are you calling a perfect throw, the one he shorted into double coverage that Darvin had beat clean?

Just stupid that we got two threads popped up right now talking about Nichols and Lapolice while this defense was a freaking dumpster fire all night long.  That unit and its stupid coordinator are 100℅ responsible for this loss because while Nichols does need to pick his game up a little, if we gotta score 45 points consistently to beat teams like this, we're in big trouble.

I'm going to put the blame for this loss right where it belongs.

just watched the "highlights" lol,  on youtube.
debating which side of the ball lost the game is like choosing between dog poo and cat poo for lunch.
Nichols brohmed one pass. threw 2 int directly to guys on the other team. On the one the lineman picked off, there were two other receivers that look open. That he seems to look towards, and then go to Harris.
The pass to Adams was clearly underthrown, Adams had two guys beat, had to slow down, they both caught up to him, and both defenders swatted the ball is it came to him. Not likely anybody could make  that catch. blaming him for that is really bad if Nichols did so. Going to have some apologizing to do.
Not the biggest fan of Bo Levi, but when he has players open, usually he can hit them.
sad to say, it looks like the pass defence is once again a complete shambles. four guys covering one receiver, three guys surrounding a receiver with the ball, yet all three unable to tackle him (shades of defences past),
defenders running away from a receiver, leaving him uncovered, defenders in trail position.
Assuming these coaches know what they're doing, their not explaining it very well to their players.
We've had dozens of pass defenders through here. same result every season.
I suspect that the guys that we have that have been really good, best days are behind them, wasted on bullshit defensive teams.
just an ugly mess. I'm surprised Calgary didn't score more points. Cause there was basically nothing stopping them.
Two beat downs in a row.
Right now, this team is awful.
At least with Streveler, there is a chance he'll run, and they have to respect that. As it is, the Wpg offence is actually probably pretty easy to draw a D game plan for.
Not putting in Streveler is mystifying.

Both sides of the ball have under performed against the better teams. But Richie Hall's defense have been under performers for a number of years. Every so often the offense will show up but a Richie Hall defense never shows up IMHO. And before you respond with the Calgary first half I think the Stamps were just sleep walking through the first half until they woke up at half time. Calgary made adjustments at the half. The Bomber offense and defense never makes any adjustments at half time.
Bottom line IMHO - Richie Hall needs to be shown the door at the end of the year - and if this does not happen maybe MOS has overstayed his welcome in the Peg.

Oh please the "whining" by Nichols is nothing. That's just frustration from a losing effort coming through. Guy isn't like that, just a heat of the moment lapse in his usual attitude.

Its CFL coaching 101. The same crap you say about MOS can be said about Dickenson Maas Buono etc...
Those guys don't get taken out ever. Has Glenn even taken a snap this year? Has the Calgary backup? Besides the game where BLM got hurt?
You are living in a stone age because the starters all get a ton of rope.. The Vet QBs especially..
I like Streveler but hes a rookie in year 1 still learning.. You put him out there now hes another Randall Dinwiddie Elliot Goltz Brink Etc etc etc... You be patient and let him truly develop and he could be our BLM or Riley. A long term solution. Problem here is fans are impatient especially with the QB position which is odd considering how many different superstar backups we've had over the last 20 years here.. I like Streveler.. Hes got potential.. But all this stuff was said about all the other guys who are greeting ppl at Walmart now also.

2014 was Mitchell's third year with the team. He had a very good handle on the play book before he ever got to play.  The Stamps were 15-3 that year with a hell of a defense.  They didn't need the young qb to have to out gun the opposition in the same way you need to this year

There is the whole reading the defense thingy to consider.  Coming in and running few plays on a limited playbook works good in the short term.  Sooner or later you have to be able to stand in there and run the offense. Sandlot will not get it done once all the teams have film on you. I think this is a great young qb and I think he will be pushing for a starting spot by next years training camp.  Right now, no way I would start him.  Its still Nichols team.  I wouldn't however let Nichols play all the downs, especially when he is sucking. Good way to light a fire under Matt's ass is sit him down when he is not performing to the level the team expects.

Well, that's pretty absurd and presumably an overreaction based solely on Friday's loss. A loss in which there was ample blame to go around the locker room, not just the QB.

I believe that Streveler brings a whole other dynamic to the offence.  With his mobility, I think it makes it tougher for opposing defences to key in on certain players.  I believe he has a better arm. I think with his scrambling ability, it opens up plays downfield, which with Nichols, it certainly does not.  Do I think he has the pedigree and experience of Nichols?  Of course not... what rookie would?   But do I believe that Streveler gives us a better chance to win?  Yes, I actually do.

If I were HC, I would have the offence score as many points as possible.  At the same time, I would have the defense  do everything possible to limit the  scoring by the other team.  I'd stress that if we can score more points than them over the course of the game, we stand a good chance of winning.
