You know it man. I’ve been advocating for Maas to go for ages now. He’s killing me.

To be fair, Bomber fans wanted Lapo to be sent packing too but as it turns out, you have to have a limited playbook when your QB can't execute  anything over short to short-mid throws.

    :D

    Absolutely.

I appreciate some basic play review - but he doesn't do it well.

My basic gripe is gets fixated on a story or comment and wont get off of it. You just have to listen to the same thing over and over.

    For sure.

I recall all the Talk of Nik " The Specimen" Lewis.   Nik Lewis was a **** brick that made some unbelievable plays where other receivers would have been destroyed but man, whenever he was in a game (or out even) he was focused on.

I don't recall the Broadcasting teams really as i said above they are a bit of whitenoise i don't really focus on.. But, I do like listening to Dunigan, It may be his pure excitement that gets me to focus more or he i recall the joy of watching him play when i was alot young..

I just love the CFL though so anytime a game is one i will gladly watch it..

Yeah there's a certain level of basic that every broadcast needs. I dont mind that. What gets on my nerves is when describing a play, he will get things blatantly wrong. Like talking about a guy who has nothing to do with the play as if he made the play. Or describing what happened during a play and it not being the case. There was a frustrating example during the Thursday night game that I can't recall right now. But I started laughing and my wife asked why and I told her it was the announcer being real bad at describing what happened.
Even if he's talking during the replay and the replay proves he's incorrect about whatever, he doesn't correct himself often enough, and just keeps pretending like he is right.

If he said a player made a play and you think he was not involved, clearly you don't know anything about football or the playbook /s

Lol.. Fair points completely.. I have ADHD (treated) , so i tend to not catch/focus on what they are saying.. Very much like Music.  I can hear a song 50 times in a day and still have no clue what the lyrics are or whats coming..  But i 100% know a song by the melody/rift.    It may be why enjoy watching football on TV vs at the stadium.. ,At the stadium I miss so much and there is no instant replay to really show me or break it down.. I'm likely in a 1% of the viewers though.

What exactly in your analysis makes this a “stupid” comment? Fundamentally wrong? Too simplistic? Too obvious? Just trying to understand your mindset.

My Nephew is 12 and is starting to get into watching Bomber games so  these type of obvious comments are perfect for people that aren't well versed in football.   He was asking alot of questions that were really basic and it clicked that the CFL/football has alot of rules/nuances that is hard to pick up and them dumbing it down is great for them..

I like the break downs to since it lets you see more of the things i may have missed by grabbing more food..

    :)

  5. Yah.. It brought me flash backs of anger... Not nearly as bad as when Joe Mack was here.. or Even Mike Kelly..

Its good to know that Miller et al. all have the foresight to stick to their plan and not react constantly to Fan angst and broke the cycle or firing coaches / players instead of sticking it out..

I was wrong but not sure why somebody felt the need to reactivate a 6 year old thread.

I was cleaning up my inbox from all these useless emails i get from the CFL about things i don't care about and unsubscribed, selected all emails with CFL in then and saw this and clicked on it and spent some time reading through it..   I figured some would get a kick out of it..   It wasn't pointed at any one person and was a reflection on how wrong i was at the time in my mindset.

but.. I mean.. you could just not respond allowing it to die again.. But instead you have me replying to you :D

lol. The voice sets the tone. Nothing less and nothing more. Do you really wait to see what the announcer says for confirmation? Names and #'s and yardage is irrelevant. Like maybe you haven't watched sports long enough but certain fans complain about things like this and its nonsense. Every announcer even the best Cuthbert or Wittman made mistakes. Who cares. The voice is everything

Majority of all hardcore sports broadcasters across the country and even in the USA said they loved Rod Black and the production. So there is that.

Sportsgrid had 2 hrs of coverage of the game and they were very impressed. Also Rod Black bashing is just stupid. He is literally one of the best in the business. Go find someone better, you wont. People in the USA hate Joe Buck. Even Jim Nantz is overrated but he has the voice and his tone is refreshing.

MLB radio announces are the best cause of the tone they use and majority have a powerful southern voice which comes booms across the radio similar to Keilback

You are wrong on a lot of accounts. Rod Black is great! Watch last nights preseason game for the nfl? same stuff. You people whining about yard and distance and one liners. lol i dont even know what to say.

Are you looking for a phone sex operators or something?     As long as they don’t have annoying voices I really could care less.  They are there to be explaining what is going on for you.

I do like the commentary and the silly ness rod black injects but that’s just me.

  7. Each year I rely on this site to give me insight into the teams around the league.   And each year I hear how horrible the riders will be which makes me feel good.    And then they do far better then everyone expects. .

So either these posters are on the Money and the riders just have something that elevates them, or we don’t know **** or I dunno.

I expect them to be decent but hope they suck horribly.

Still 9 more days left,I'm confident but it'll be very disappointing if we can't sell out our stadium after winning the cup after 29 years.

I would love to attend and being fully vaccinated,  i could, but i have kids that can't be vaccinated and being in a large crowd is not something i'm willing to risk yet.. The chances catching and transmitting the virus is relatively low, coupled with low numbers here in MB, its low risk, but there is still a risk and we are just letting our kids see their cousins and hopefully friends soon.

I'm sure there are many other fans that are uneasy being in a crowd when they can watch the game at home with now risk.

I would be willing to purchase a virtual ticket to watch the game on line each week (i don't have cable) but have other methods for watching live.
