Medlock was already considering retirement this season. So if he's truely close to retirement lets let FMB punt and have him learn each day in practice from Medlock so he can take over all 3 duties when Medlock retires.

Yup it's not how you start the season, it's how you are playing near the end of it.

I didn't put my son's health at risk. He is an adult. He makes his own decisions. He was also on a scholarship & playing football was the only way to get his degree to which he was a year away from receiving at the time. He wouldn't have been able to afford university along with the cost of the dorms & meals if he hadn't have played. His decision, not mine. Besides, if you've ever played a sport at a high level... walking away is not easy. Ask guys here who have played like Booch how hard that is. I could have got down on my hands & knees but he still would have played. He was 24 at the time. It was his decision to make.

You should have stopped there and let it be somewhat of a mystery, rather than continue and remove all doubt.

First Eskimo touch.....Robinson guy runs back punt 95 yds for TD......
Nichols getting some pressure and pops, early.......
Randle fights receiver for ball...Clarke guy grabs INT.....
Harris takes screen and rips a run, for a couple of first downs....
Nichols then hits Bowman in end zone, for 15 yd TD pass
Zach Cline come in to QB the Esks.....sacked on first snap....
..then chucks up 50 yd sideline pass....
    D. Adams draws long PI call for about 50 yards.....
Bowman can sure find his way open against zone D....
    Medlock makes it 10-7
Robinson not getting much ground, since his TD return......
Jake Thomas flushes QB out of pocket.....Opo gets the sack
Thomas then clobbers Cline, who scrambled out of the pocket....
Nichols overthrows Bowman couple of times.....
One which turns into an INT, with a long return....
...but Bowman will be a key component of this O.
Cline looking shaky, since the Thomas hit......
Taking a sack from Roh....doesn't help
Constant pass rush from the Blue D....
AJ Coney returns a missed FG 65 yards.....
Demski catches his 1st as a Bomber.....
    ...then draws a PI call....
    Medlock 45 yds, into the wind...makes 13-7
...but game really more lopsided than that..
Esks doing nothing on O....their OL getting killed....
    Nichols departs....enter Alex Ross....
...who looks a little nervous in the service....
Danny O'Brian guy now the QB for Esks.......
Chris Streveler now at the controls for the Blue.
....hits Wolitarsky for first down, then Adams...
Ach du Lieber!  Augustine bust up the gut 17 yds for TD..
20-10....score starting to look....more like it.
Opo and Roh, still bringing pressure...
Ross rushing things a bit....couple of bad under throws...
2nd half....need to really peruse that ole roster sheet....
Streveler starts 2nd half at QB...scrambles for first down.
    Simonise makes good leaping catch.
The toss/sweep running plays.....could use some work..
Menard-Briere guy makes it 23-10.  Two scoring drives for Streveler.
Announced crowd of 23,034.  Nice try.
Streveler throws it up for White, who wins jump ball...
...then turns on the burners and goes 85 yds for the TD
Streveler is 7 for 7 and has put 17 points up on the board
Thought Ross was supposed to be the experienced guy?
Doesn't matter which QB in for Esks....they are all getting the bum's rush.
Augustine still running hard.....guy has some pop.
Even with reserves in....Bomber D shows plenty of speed...
2nd string officials have some problems with ball placement....
2nd string scoreboard person...gives Esks a Bomber punt single..
At this point, Eskimo OL holding and tackling, all over the place..
Streveler has nice run up the middle...but doesn't protect ball - fumble.
Bomber backup OL doing pretty good work on the run game.
Everybody else getting pressure...so Trent Corney gets in on the act..
RB Thomas has some pretty good wheels...
Now DE Sam Montgomery make a couple of plays....
Menard-Briere hits a low liner to make it 33-13.
This O&S is a bit bigger that I anticipated...
    So is the gin.

I like hearing this. I think our defense will be better. I feel though, that for us to compete for 1st in the west (which I think we can do) our defense doesn't need to be the best in the league...it just needs to be better, probably top 3. Our offense is a top 3 offense. Our special teams is up there. Just got to get our defense there.

Saw what a beautiful day it was going to be and took a vacation day.  Took in Bomber training camp this morning.  Bringing a 2 year old (some might have seen him wanting to get onto the football field) and a 3 week old there, I wasn't able to watch a ton...and let's be honest, we're all there to watch the 1 on 1s.
You can definitely see the polish and level that the new guys (Thompkins and Reuben) bring to camp.  Guys like Coney and Dye, who may have been the front runners to try to get a spot on the roster (or at least be the "next guy up") didn't impress me too much, and I couldn't see them being there in the end.
That said, Myles White is the real deal. Looked uncoverable in the one on ones.  He might not have been drawing Randle in coverage, but he was making the guy he was lining up against look silly pretty routinely.  Was also lining up to return kicks.  He's my pick to make the team.
Canadian receivers: Daniel Petermann. What can you say.  He is looking like a training camp superstar.  Demski wasn't taking too many reps this practice and Petermann made play after play after play.  Couple deep balls, some catches in the middle.  Super excited about him.  Simonise looked real good and even Henry is looking much better this year.  Don't know how many reps Wolitarsky had.  Pierre was helping with the receivers (off crutches I guess) along with Corey Washington (imp).
Overall the receivers are looking darn good.
After the receivers, the player that really stood out to me in special teams drills was Jacob Firlotte.  He was getting down the field pretty quick and has an intriguing size to him.  Dark horse?
Quarterbacks...I think they all had their moments.  In Skele I think you'd give the edge to Ross for processing the field much quicker than Streveler.  Not unexpected.  Streveler made some nice throws as well.
Mention to Faith Ekakite who took the time to walk over to my 2 year old and give him a fist bump.  By the end of practice, my little guy was way overtired but I think he had fun.

I was there yesterday...cold in those stands. Most of the day was teaching so everything was split up
in segments on the field, e.g. linemen one area, defence another and so on.
When I first got there our drafted kicker Felix Menard-Briere was on the field by himself. He was kicking
field goals from the 55 yard line. The first 3 or 4 fell at the 5 yard line, but the rest went through the
posts easily and was very accurate. Not quite sure about his punting though. He was on the
field all practice running the end zone by himself.
There are so many receivers in camp and so many Canadians for a change, pretty much focused
on them when they were actually doing something to watch, which was not too often...but saw
a lot of potential out there, much more than some previous seasons. Notables
Donteea Dye #77 very interesting...good hands small and quick and very athletic
Tylor Henry national did not look out of place
Rashaun Simonize national #13...hmmm...big and fast, can see why he had an NFL look. Right now? not yet sold
on his hands...lots of potential there for sure, but what good is a receiver if they are not reliable?
Johnny Augustine #35, National, fast and strong, appears to have great hands out of the backfield and would
be a load on 2nd and short. Was very impressed with him. Can't believe he wasn't drafted and then Edmonton
signed him last year. Maybe something we don't know?
Tyrone Pierre national #73, is big and strong looking and appears to have good hands and is fast enough caught virtually everything thrown his way
Brendon Thera-Plamondon national also did not look out of place
Corey Washington #6 Int...Looks very good and made some nice catches. Looks like we let the right Washington go
Myles White Int #14 is really quick and has excellent hands, defensive backs would have hands full with him, sort of like a dressler type
Drew Wolitarsky #82 national...looks much improved from last year, rooting for him.
Didn't pay to much attention to the Qb's, but Strevelor is big and athletic and looks to have a quick release and strong arm. Ross looked
good as well, will be interesting who plants themselves in the #2 spot.
Also didn't pay too much attention to the D, but did see some nice interceptions and looks like there is plenty of speed. Only glad that
Sam Hurl is gone, but if the defence runs the same way as last year, only improved skill levels from the defence will save the job
    of Richie Hall.
Sorry I couldn't have done better but it was mostly a teaching practice

Why are you sure?Family issue or not he should have notified the Bombers 1st.  I gave my employers 3 or 4 months notice because I appreciated the fact that they gave me a job and other than my wife they were the 1st to know because it is just a common courtesy to do that.
