I wonder what the media & fans in this country think about the way the game was presented on TSN with nothing else but the countdown to Lewis's record breaking catch as well as the way Rod Black went about it? I think he spoiled it for Nik & I wonder if fans watching, even non Winnipeg fans,  were getting sick of the whole thing by the end of the game? It's too bad as I think Lewis deserved someone better than Black's unprofessional call of the game last night. When records are about to be broken they really should let Chris Cuthbert do games like this. Can we start a petition for (at best) calling for the permanent removal of Rod Black from TSN football & (at the very least) to do less Bomber games?

I won't go to a weekday game at 6 because it's too hard to make it on time and have a nice 3 course supper first and be able to watch the entire warm-ups.
 
I won't go to a weekday game that starts anytime after 7:00 because then I get home too late to get my required 8 hours of beauty rest.
 
Nor will I go to ANY game on Saturday between June 1st - September 15th because I am either at the cottage, camping, at Folk Fest, Countryfest, mowing the lawn, or attending the Winnipeg Jets' Stanley Cup Parade.
 
Sunday evening is out because I'm either still at the lake or getting my rest for work the next day.
Sunday afternoon might work, until the NFL season starts then that's out too.
 
So it's simple really: all the games should be Sunday afternoon until the NFL season starts. Then take a few (?) weeks off completely and then have all the games Saturday. 
 
And also, we're going to need a Stadium in every neighbourhood of the city and maybe one in Brandon and Steinbach, all with the same game being played simultaneously on all of them so no one has to worry about long travel times and traffic getting there.
 
Why can't the dumb CFL get this right??

One of the many really good things about clinching a spot on Thursday is we call all watch this last regular season game without fears of having a heart attack.  

With Pavs watching from the press box this game I hope he won't be sitting out of position.

Meanwhile Brendan Lemieux played in his first playoff game of the year and got an assist in the Colts win over North Bay, while here in Kelowna Josh Morrissey played his first game in six weeks tonight and got three assists as the Rockets pummelled Victoria 5-0. He's going to be a good one.

It would be nice to get the Ducks. I don't think they're as good as the Blues, and if we won that series we'd get the winner of Vancouver-Calgary rather than Hawks-Preds.

I remember going to a couple of the early whiteouts against Calgary in the mid-80's - they were insane! It has to be a whiteout.

They had differences, I can't see Miller not being in with the plan…that leaves Bell.

Seems to me changes from the past were in order and it looks like the changes mostly have been positive. 
Bell, as COO, has a nice ring to it, but if he's not "in" with the plan, I guess they had to move on.
Miller and Walters seem to be on the same plan long range and goal-wise and that's, at least, a very good start.
 
What I've also 'figured out' is that winning, also starts with 'W,' and I've already seen proof of that.

The only thing I'll say regarding the post about it being an old boys club, Miller came in and got rid of some of them "old boys". Not really sure those posts really make sense.
 
Unless people are referring to the BOD, but the BOD has removed a few older guys and added a few new younger guys and gals for that matter.
 
Thinks are a changing, for years and years people referred to us as a gong show, Bell might have been a nice guy, Bannon too, Others also but... Times, they are a changing.
 
I'm fine with whatever decision Miller makes. He knows what he is doing regardless of some pretty obvious personal shots a few posters have taken against him. People talk about Ameet Pall kicking Iso's dog on the other thread, Well apparently Miller has done the same to a few on here too.

Haha - I guess that's deserved - gotta start somewhere though.  Actually I used to post a lot at Ourbombers (Buzz4QB) - but got tired of trolls and negatrons so stepped away for a while.  This site seems a lot more like Ourbombers used to be originally... I'm usually content to just lurk but I'm a Miller fan and don't really want to see people start making this into a WWE 'heel vs. hero' match.  Guess I'll go back to lurk mode!

I just don't see what constantly going on about it proves exactly. How many of these "refs suck" threads do we need.
 
We all know there are issues, they aren't perfect but... you know what, if you don't like the job they are doing, why don't you go and apply to be a ref.
 
It's really that simple. What games have you been watching? what blatant calls have they missed? a few PI's? a Few holds? 
 
It's football, it's sport really. It's going to happen, best thing to do is understand it's not going to be perfect because if you are expecting it to be perfect, it never will be in any sport which has that human element to it. It is what it is. 

I'm sure there are positive and negative examples every walk of life.
I for one am an example of how you can be born in transcona and grow up to be very sophisticated and classy

People get very emotional.  The people who bash chevy need to explain exactly what they would do if they were GM.  "Duuuhhhh, I'd trade for Crosby..."  "Duuuhhhh I'd sign the three best free agents no matter what it cose..."  "Duuuhhhh I'd draft the top five players in the league..."

The Halischuk signing is actually a good signing.  They let his contract expire and didnt offer a qualifying, then picked him up on a two-way deal.  So when people say our bottom six depth is an issue, this is a smart move to add that depth and help out St Johns and be financially prudent.  I'd rather have this player than Tanner Glass for $1 million or whatever he got.
 
I would have liked us to be in on Peter Mueller.  And maybe we were.  I think the idea that no one wants to play here is a bit overblown but I think there are a few teams that have to pay a bit more to attract guys, Winnipeg being one of them.  And that probably has less to do with any one thing like Weather or location as it does with the team on the ice which, when winning, can make the weather and location seem a bit less rough.
 
I think the Jets are willing to spend money when the time is right.  We can sit back and say we're wasting Ladd, Little, Wheeler but really, is that the group that is going to get us over the top with the addition of a few big players?  Yes, we have a few good guys around 30 years old, but we have a few better guys in their early 20's.  Thats the "core" we should be focusing on and I think we are.  They want to see Kane, Scheif, Bogo, trouba, Hutch, Morrissey, Lowry etc continue to get better and then you will see more complimentary trades.
 
I also think Jets management has a very specific vision which is why it sometimes seems to us that nothing is happening.  Whereas other teams might be in on every player, the Jets want to stick with their plan.  And that plan might be to rely on a guy like Lowry rather than sign a journeyman who will win that spot and relegate Lowry to the Rock for another year.
 
As for Penner, I'd be interested in him.  Im not sure he fits the Jets' effort/speed desires but as a depth move, I'd be happy with it.  I think Buff is playing the LW this year though.  In fact I think our forward group is:
 
Ladd-Little-Frolik
Buff-Scheif-Wheeler
Kane-Perrault-??? (maybe Lowry)
Halischuk-Slater-Tangradi
 
Not exactly world beaters but for talent on ice, it's an improvment over last season assumuing Perrault is better than Jokinen and better for guys arund him (ie. Kane), that Scheif continues to improve, that Wheeler plays the whole season, that Frolik is now comfortable and playing for a contract and we get a couple of big performances from young guys.  I expect us to compete for the Playsoffs the same way we did last year..maybe in tough, but pushing.
 
Jets have been in on big free agents so you cant say they havent tried. 

Cactus Jack and Matheson. Very synonymous with the teams past. Excellent in their field and two very different characters. I got a big laugh out of Cactus and his play by play. Sometimes he had the wrong teams on the field, but that was Jack. The guy was just a tremendous personality who enjoyed the game and wasn't shy in the early days to 'tip a few'. Miss him a lot and what they brought to the media in the Peg.
