  1. I agree we got lucky with Kongbo... if not for his injury, he would never have been here in the 1st place. I was just throwing Bennett's name out there as he was A) local and B) ranked right where the Bombers are picking. The draft pool and it's rankings are always changing so projecting what we might do at this point is 100% speculation... exactly what the off-season is for!
  2. Winnipeg product Mason Bennett is a DE who was ranked 9th in the initial rankings.
  3. Given the nature of the family business... I'm surprised he didn't go with a phone that was uncrackable.
  4. No disputing that he quit on the team... I'm just saying it seems like there's more to it than just not accepting a new role.
  5. He got married (or engaged?) over the bye-week and never came back. I think he realized at that point he was just done with football. If it was simply a case of him not wanting to be a back-up, why retire? I'm sure the team would have released him to pursue other opportunities if he still had the desire to play.
  6. Yep and it doesn't seem like he's holding any grudges. He's still wearing bomber gear in his latest Instagram pics. In the end, he probably wouldn't have seen the field much, if at all, anyway so his leaving didn't end up affecting anything. Things worked out for both sides... we won, he gets to retire a "champ".
  7. Masoli is also coming off a serious injury (if people are going to use that as a negative for Nichols, they should for him as well) and could quite possibly just be a product of a good system. He was nothing special until the June Jones system got installed in Hamilton, so the question is would he be just as good outside of it? I'm more sold on Arbuckle than I am on Masoli but the name James Franklin keeps coming to mind when I think about him. It's a big risk to take but then again, the upside could be very big too if he pans out.
  8. Not quite, they re-connected when he invited her up here in 2015 but had met at a party when they were at Baylor (2009 or 2010). How/where they met is irrelevant as the main point is that they both seemed to like it here very much.
  9. You've said this a couple times now and I'm not sure why? There were only 3 USports players picked in the 1st round last season and 4 the year before. The number of NCAA players picked would be higher too, if not for the NFL.
  10. Yes
  11. It's not so bad today for some reason...
  12. When I saw him in camp, he couldn't shed a block to save his life so I guess, at some point, he learned to go through the guy rather than trying to go around him! He looked 100% like TCF at that point but I knew as a global player, he'd be on the team regardless of how bad he measured up to other guys. It's amazing to see how far he's come over the course of one season.
  13. It wouldn't be tampering but they could argue that they deserve our pick since the deal was made prior to FA.
  14. I'm not even waiting until Labour Day! I have to go to Saskatoon tomorrow so I desperately want to pick something up before I leave.
  15. "we just don’t want to spend that much time with assholes" - Mike O'Shea
  16. He'll always have headsets to throw!
  17. And we would be livid if another team did that to us. Not much different than Durant f**king us over for a free payday. Not technically against the rules, but a d-bag move nonetheless.
  18. Which is kinda surprising... why would anyone want to work for Hervey?
  19. Facts. Leaving the office yesterday, I passed by an abandoned toy stroller that still had its precious cargo inside... a king can of special dry!
  20. Really Winnipeg... Lucky Lager? Do better! 🤣
  21. There's more than just the one hat and shirt on the bomber store website now. Some nicer looking royal blue shirts/hats listed now. https://www.thebomberstore.com/collections/grey-cup
  22. Yep. He did a good job spreading the ball around and calling some tendency breaking plays (Adams pass & Harris receiving TD's) that kept a very good Ticats defense off balance so I will give him credit for that. Is it enough to erase past games where he would out-think himself or be super predictable in his play calling... not in my opinion.
  23. I saw something about this before the game. Whiney self-important media being whiney. To his credit Bauming has not mentioned it nor does it seem to have affected his ability to cover the game.
  24. Surprisingly, I would not. He (and his wife) have both made posts recently on social media basically saying its been a crazy ride and whatever happens after grey cup, Winnipeg will always hold a place in their hearts. Between playing injured most of the year and recently getting his degree, I wonder if he's not contemplating moving on from football or if they are just acknowledging that he's going to be a free agent and could change teams.
