  1. Might be confusing Devonte Williams for Devonte Dedmon.
  2. I see you are unfamiliar with Farhan Lalji! 😂 I don't think anyone can compete with him in that area, it's just that the rest of the TSN crew might be closer to his level of nut hugging this season.
  3. Yep, plus it doesn't matter who they have in the backfield if they refuse to run the ball. It might balance their offense better on paper, but it doesn't mean much until BC shows they're willing to change their play calling.
  4. Spotters need to pull Butler (Sask at #1) & Lewis (Edmonton at #2) to check for concussions.
  5. Like any good mob boss, he already (allegedly) runs the show from the background. I doubt he would want to change that.
  6. Must be because that profit for the Riders was very much inflated by the Grey Cup. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/roughriders-profit-reaches-all-time-high-of-10-4m-agm-hears-1.2671668
  7. Only watched the first episode but it looks like it'll be a good one. Enjoyed the games so I'm looking forward to seeing where the show goes.
  8. Yup, the Jazz moved from New Orleans to Utah but kept the name. It happens every now and then... the Lakers moved from Minnesota (land of 10 000 lakes) to L.A. (home of a whopping 6 natural lakes) but kept the name. Some times keeping the name is appropriate. The Atlanta Flames were named after the Civil War burning of Atlanta but the name still works in Calgary because they are a tire fire franchise.
  9. Because team names don't ever get re-used by other leagues? The Tuscon Roadrunners are the Coyotes farm team so if they did rename them to that, it'd be following a bit of an NHL/AHL pattern. Can you guess the parent club for these AHL teams: Abbotsford Canucks Belleville Senators Bridgeport Islanders Iowa Wild Providence Bruins Texas Stars Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins I don't think the league is too concerned about the name being too cartoony, as long as they make money. I mean they allowed a team to be called the Mighty Ducks and use this as a logo.
  10. Burden on proof in a civil case is much lower than a criminal case though and some of the incidents happened in front of other people so, theoretically, there would be witnesses to corroborate her side of things. Whether or not those people would be willing to attest to what they saw is a different matter though.
  11. I wonder if Dunk steps back from 3DN. Covering a team you now work for could be a bit of an issue. In other news: Lemon retires and new detailed Chad Kelly allegations. https://3downnation.com/2024/04/10/going-out-a-champion-dl-shawn-lemon-retires-from-cfl/ https://3downnation.com/2024/04/10/lawsuit-against-chad-kelly-argos-includes-new-sexual-harassment-claims/
  12. Finally makes sense why Perry was brought in by the Oilers... you need someone who is just as big of a douchebag as Kane so they can speak the same language. 😂 https://oilersnation.com/news/nhl-insider-speculates-connor-mcdavid-leon-draisaitl-went-to-corey-perry-for-help-with-evander-kane
  13. You remember incorrectly, the Humboldt driver definitely had his picture in the media many times. They also posted the picture of the Toronto nutjob that ran down a bunch of people. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/humboldt-truck-driver-deportation-1.7059282 https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/toronto-van-attack-driver-profile-alek-minassian-1.4632435
  14. Yeah Tkachuk is the same guy who was admittedly laughing his ass off when his teammate took a slapper into an empty net not too long ago. He has zero room to be upset about something like this.
  15. Sandler definitely had to look away multiple times so he didn't completely break. I loved Farley, I don't know how anyone kept a straight face around him during those skits.
  16. Seems to be on brand for BC. https://3downnation.com/2024/04/05/b-c-lions-sign-former-florida-ol-jean-delance-after-ufl-spitting-incident/
  17. The Farley part starts at the 5 minute mark.
  18. The club also has an article from Tait up: https://www.bluebombers.com/2024/04/05/andrew-harris-set-to-officially-retire-as-a-bomber/?lid=gxmszi5ryv4k
  19. We probably missed the boat on this. I feel like the could have been a deal to be had earlier... 😂 Walters: How about we swap your 1st overall pick for Damian Jackson, straight up. Jones: Not a chance! Walters: Do you know how many different positions you could convert him to? Jones: Jones: You got yourself a deal!
  20. The CFL would have to hold a special lottery draft for a guy like the Seal - way too special to be lumped in with the the average player!
  21. I'd be a lot less critical of these articles if they explained their rational a bit more - even if I don't agree with where they have a guy going, at least let me see the thought process behind it. I think it would be especially valuable for Hodge since he does multiple mocks and some of his picks change drastically. Like how does he have a guy like Straker going from being his projected 3rd overall pick to 20th? Or how does he have Kevens Clercius jumping up 12 spots from 23rd to 11th?
  22. Hodge has his 2nd mock up - has Dublanko first now which makes more sense. Still has us listed with a glaring need at FB though. Pete oops, I mean Hodge, also now has Ottawa taking a receiver with both of their first 2 picks. 😂 https://3downnation.com/2024/04/04/john-hodges-2024-cfl-mock-draft-2-0/
  23. They certainly could have a need there but their roster isn't really setup for needing a national receiver - they use the ratio elsewhere (at least they did last year). And if you're looking for immediate production out of a Canadian receiver, the draft probably isn't the best place to look. No matter who they draft, they still end up with only one NI receiver with more than 1 catch last year.
  24. Alright let's break down your 3 gripes about this mock then. 1) Ottawa is in need of a NI receiver but in a deep draft, do you reach and fill a position of need, knowing you can get a similar quality player later? Both mocks had the best available receiver going first so who's next and how far is the dropoff? What Edmonton does with the first pick could shape the way the first few rounds goes down. 2) Even Ferguson said he doesn't think Dublanco slides to 7th. He also had Lacrosse at 4 but says that's too early. Not sure why he put guys in spots he doesn't think they'll be picked in... It's kinda the whole point of the article? That's probably my biggest issue with his draft. 3) Didn't see you have the same angst for Hodge picking Straker at 3 as you do for Ferguson putting at 2? I get why both guys have him high though. Borderline NFL interest coupled with an underwhelming pro day means he will most likely be available for a team this season which is what you want from a high pick.
