  1. Yeah Smith only looked good in the context of his previous game. He still couldn't hit a target down field with any kind of reliability. They worked a lot of short passes and relied on the receiver or whitaker picking up first downs. The concern with Montreal is that their defense appears to be pretty solid.
  2. Man getting Randle was a shrewd move. Liked it at the time it went down and love it now.
  3. It's a perfect situation for Ray. Ray loves to drop short passes to his receivers and Owens is good at taking those passes and doing a lot with them. I find it funny they're spending a whole thread trying to call out Chamblin because he benched Allen for one tiny bit of the 2nd quarter, when that did nothing whatsoever to affect the game. They oughtta be calling out their DBs for being lazy with the Argo WRs and letting Ricky Ray torch em lol Durant takes his share of the blame too, he had chances early on to do what the Bombers did and torch the Argos but he kept missing his targets. The only thing the Riders were really doing well on offense to start that game was running the ball but they kept putting it on Durants arm when he clearly wasn't having much success at the time.
  4. Might have been worth a challenge from Ottawa if it was ruled incomplete, but going the other way, complete to incomplete, on the challenge would have certainly not been overturned. He has control and turns upfield (football move), catch complete, then he gets stripped. That's just it though, the ball comes, he makes the catch as he's turning, the strip as he's turning, all in the matter of a second or two. It's closer than you think. No it's been called like that for years now, there was no way that was going to be ruled incomplete. He tucked the ball and took a step, that's a catch in the CFL.
  5. Not well, he looks like a good qb but qbs can't survive getting run over the by Tim Burke bus.
  6. let's face it, the argos simply faced a far superior opponent last week.
  7. Seeing the Riders stumble and bumble around does the heart good. I could watch that all day.
  8. plus a turnstile at tackle it ain't a good situation.
  9. Burke won't get a head coaching job in the CFL again for a long long time.
  10. Especially when you consider that Montreal has probably been their most successful road trip in terms of winning these past few years anyway.
  11. No they were good friends when they were both here and presumably that hasn't changed. Not the first time they've worked together as coach and qb either, Khari was coaching in Hamilton with Glenn there too don't forget. This is plain and simply a case of BC can't protect Glenn and he's doing what he always does when he gets hit a lot.
  12. They called a good game for Smith. Lots of short passes. I actually had a bit of a comparison watching him last night... He's Nealon Greene come again. If the pass is within 10 yards he's ok but anything longer and his accuracy is completely out the window.
  13. Yeah BC really looks like a mess to start this year, I'd have Benevides as the guy on the hot seat. Austin will survive the year but if his qbs don't look better by the end of the year he'll go into the offseason wondering.
  14. So what do we all think of the Edmonton D? They've generated a lot of turnovers so far into the season.. but at the same time neither offense they've faced has exactly protected the ball well so are they for real or just taking advantage of their opponents? Bit of both?
  15. All those hamilton qbs just made some atrocious mistakes. That pick near the end, good lord I thought Austin would run onto the field and start beating the guy because it was a stupid throw to even think about trying.
  16. Grigsby has done well getting yards for us, but to me Cotton was the most impressive Bomber in preseason, I'd like to see what he can do because I think he's better at slipping through holes and making something out of nothing.
  17. I think the injuries and nicks and subsequent shuffling made it look worse than it actually is. Wiley will have them playing real well before it's all said and done.
  18. The elephant in the room is that the BC o-line is just putrid. guys in Glenns lap all day long and we all know how he deals with that.
  19. me too... shame on me. BC looks terribad.
  20. Nice to have an offense that can score multiple TDs in a game and dig themselves out a hole.
  21. It's either trolling or stupidity, your choice which.
  22. Near the end of the game, that's one of the worst safety blitzes I've seen for a while which Willy took full advantage. If it was Milt receiving, he would have broken route, cut to the middle, put his hand up and bon voyage. Oh that was just the Bomber coaches out coaching the Ottawa coaches. Ottawa clearly expected something short playing for the first down and the idea of defending deep never entered their heads, Bombers did the unexpected and went over the top.
  23. He's a team player when it's going well. When it doesn't though it's never his fault. He's not a winner plain and simple. It's clear by this point that his one Grey Cup win was a fluke. He's had enough years on good teams in Calgary to show that when the chips are down you're as far ahead with Kevin Glenn as you are with Henry Burris.
  24. It's obvious at this point the guy is simply a troll, best to just let him talk his nonsense and be on our way.
  25. Hufnagel got tired of Burris in Calgary too, difference is that Huffer made sure he got a starting quality qb back in return for Burris rather than hanging it all on a newbie. You're in Calgary, you know that Burris is the ultimate fair weather qb., He's all smiles when things are going well but when it's not then the excuses and finger pointing come out.
