  1. The fact that there is no video of this game is a crime.
  2. you've seen their draft board have you? This draft basically went thusly: There were 4 guys at the top then another 4 or 5 clustered together.
  3. cord cutting only works for people who don't like sports sad to say.
  4. I tell you it was eye opening moving to Alberta and listening to the radio guys out here and then being exposed to more through satellite radio... Irving is a cut above them all. I never cared too much back in the day when all the games weren't broadcast because Irving was so good. Not over the top, just tell the listener what he sees and the excitement or disappointment isn't forced. More broadcasters today need to realize that they don't have to be the entertainment, they just have to tell people what's going on.
  5. Pietrangelo over Karlsson and I don't even think twice about it. Offensive defensemen are nice in the regular season but it's guys like Pietrangelo who can do everything on the back end that you ultimately win with. One dimensional defence are complimentary pieces, guys like AP are legit franchise guys.
  6. I think you might be writing Dinwiddie off a bit early, I thought he called a pretty good game for Smith in the game against BC. Played to his strengths and got just enough out of him to get the win along with the defense stepping up. Not much more a guy can do when you're handicapped by a passer that inaccurate. I think he called a terrible game for Smith against BC even though Montreal won. Smith's not AC and they shouldn't treat him like he is. Smith's strengths aren't short accurate passes or reading the defence and taking what they give you. It's run around and find a deep receiver. As I've said before, if you're going to be a 50% completion QB, you better be attacking the middle to deep zones so every catch is a first down. That's how you get by with an inaccurate passer. Montreal knew this last year so Marsh and Smith both kept throwing bombs and hoping for good results. When they completed the deep balls they won. When they didn't, they lost. and I think it was good because the guy can actually make those shorter passes more often, it's when he tries to throw deep you never know what you're going to get. Keep it simple for him, give him the easy throws and let the receivers do most of the work. That's what you do with a qb like that. You don't just ask him to pitch it deep and hope there's a receiver within the area code.
  7. I gave True Detective a try via Shaws VOD and it was a bit slow getting into but damned if there didn't come a point were my entire afternoon didn't disappear because I had to finish watching the entire series right there.
  8. if I gave a **** about basketball at all and was a Cleveland fan I'd take the attitude that he can **** right off.

  10. Well I know it was different because he went down to the states but Kent Austin resigned to go to a situation he liked better.
  11. Sooner or later they are going to have a let down game... This one will be concerning just because I think this will be the toughest defence they've faced so far.
  12. oh yeah I'm the one you need to worry about, come on now we both know who the guy that'd keep texting updates would be...
  13. not necessarily. there aren't many 40 goal scorers in the NHL, sometimes a 30ish goal scorer is all you can hope to be. Goal scorers tend to peak early let us not forget.
  14. Better baseball highlights and the blatherings of the morons TSN has on their panel.
  15. No he banged his head opening a cupboard in his house.... honestly Nate some of the crap that you actually say....
  16. Hell you could put together flattering highlight packs of them from their actual CFL action too if you really wanted to.
  17. Just what do you think Kanes potential was? Seems to me he's produced with what is to be expected of him.... I've found that Jets fans seem to have this notion that every prospect or young player has super star potential... it's a curious thing.
  18. I just can't understand why people would want a TSN post game show... you want to listen to more of Schultz babbling about stupid nonsense?
  19. I don't recall TSN doing much of a post game show for NHL either. Sportscentre whether you like it or not is a big thing for TSN. Think of it like the post game show for every sport that happened that day.
  20. I still blame Buck. "The world was his oyster" and he did nothing to win that game. That's when it first dawned on me that he didn't have the mental abilities to be a winning QB. Did he do nothing to win or did the offense play so passively because of the coaching? Seems to me that once the game started to get out of reach the offense opened up a bit and made some plays. That year though seemed that Lapo was quite happy to play stupidly conservative and hope that the defense would make enough big plays to win.
  21. IMO starting 4 or 5 Canadians on the OL is an outdated and overrated idea. A Canadian starter is worth just as much no matter where they start. It used to be feasible to cram all your Canadians on the OL, but defensive lines have greatly overtaken the offensive lines in recent years from a pure talent perspective. I agree, with the way defensive lines are playing these days I see more teams moving towards using 1 or 2 americans on the offensive lines more and more just to try and protect qbs. Canadian receivers are as able as their american counterparts, canadian runningbacks are starting to show up more and more, even seeing some linebackers and dbs stepping up. The days of just throwing 5 of your 7 Canadian starters on the OL are quickly coming to an end.
  22. Do you even follow the NHL? This post suggests no. It's Nate, he just strings words together in the hopes people will give him the time of day.
  23. To be fair though, putting the west leg where they did probably services a lot more people. Trying to get it down to Mount Royal would have been pretty silly since the city ends at the reserve just past there.
  24. yeah it was 0-5. Fricken Lapo and his ultra conservative approach in the GC game, that's loser coaching. Glad we got a coach with some balls now who plays to win.
  25. Gotta pay your stars when they've won 2 cups already. How much it handcuffs the team going forward depends on how much the cap rises.
