For all the hand wringing on the depth chart....
Wilson played MLB.  Gauthier barely played D.  Wilson was godawful and got burned by Fajardo scrambles multiple times.  A couple times it was hard to understand what he saw but I have to believe he was worried about abandoning coverage to track Fajardo...but at least a couple time Fajardo was already over the line.
Karamoko took the most snaps at WIL....the guy listed as 3rd on the depth chart.  Cole took some at both WIL and SAM, played about 3/4 snaps.
Almost half of Fajardo's of passes were targeted at Ford.  So Montreal really liked that matchup.  Which is not a typical one to attack with a pop gun arm QB to the field.  And almost half of their total offense and two TD's came from those targets.  Expect that to be attacked by everyone until there's a change or Ford turns it around.  Athleticism counts for nil if you're watching the ball/covering turf and standing on flat feet.

Season opener, at home against the team that broke your hearts in the Grey Cup and the coach admits they weren't prepared? Alarm bells...

Now I think most of tonight was squarely on not playing in preseason for most of the offensive starters, but yeah Collaros has seen some really concerning aspects creep into his game last season and tonight. We got Streveler for a reason, use him if collaros is sucking the hind teet

Kudos to the Als. They've played a great and disciplined game, and their coaching has been really good as well, making ours look very bad.

Ford doing OK...our offense not sustained any drives..or scoring any points not helping

Take away the turnovers , we are in this game. Defence looks good. Offence, looks rough. So far.

FAJARDO BACK TO PASS! JAKE THOMAS WITH THE PRESSURE! FAJARDO FUMBLES, OH NO! GAUTHIER PICKS UP THE FOOTBALL, HES GOING TO TAKE IT TO THE HOUSE! 60-3 BOMBERS LEAD! The crowd goes wild, Booch’s head explodes and we go 1-0 to start the season. 

yes that play was incredible and one that he'll always be remembered for... but that was a special teams play and it was also 5 years ago.... there's a reason he's a journeymen special teamer with almost no starting experience.... if he was starter quality, he would've been playing there a long time ago, not making his first start at 32 years old... as an in-game emergency fill in, he's fine... but when you've had all camp to find a new MLB and the best you can do it a 32 year old, journeymen, special teamer with no starting experience.... that's a major fail...
I hope is that he's a "starter" in name only... and there will be plenty on movement in the LB ranks throughout the game... I honestly prefer the team rolled the dice on Ayers or Gemmell.  
EDIT: I should also note, I love Gauthier and think he's a fantastic ST player and one of the leaders on this team... he's just not a starting MLB

100 percent.....if the timing was switched, and Osh had Lapo's tenure...Lapo had Osh....be a different story...That being said lapo would have had to put in place quality co-ordinators to make things work and let go of the micro managing...Osh had next to no success when he had to hire crap co-ordinators....wasn't until quality ones were in place that the ball started rolling...I will always say a HC is only as good as the staff around him, as they are the guys who create the system the team plays within...HC obvioulsy can have some say and over rule things, but then thats the slippery slope you get on...and trouble brews
In all honesty if a HC has the right support...they will be succesful unless they are just a complete moron and dictator who wants to control everything...

Lapo didn't get the rope Osh did...and had misfortune of working under piss poor management who didn't know how to create yet alone build a sustained winner and organization
Osh got that luxury and was damn lucky as his tenure in about the same amount of time was horrible...and had multiple bone headed moments
Any coach with half a brain...and given the time can create a winner if given the tools and the upper management 
Our success and sustained ability to maintain comes from above...facts...it's up to the HC whoever he is here to foster it

Glenn was not the QB in 2011. He got hurt in 2007 when Doug Berry was the head coach. 

Occasionally Matty will spotlight a little piece of the game that teaches me something.  But mostly I enjoy him because I live his spirit and enthusiasm for the game, and he generally doesn't put lipstick on any pigs.
The best TSN color guy for in game analysis seems to be Forde ... generally he's worth listening to.  Would love to see Lapo try color, see if he can do his crisp explaining in the few seconds he's got between plays....

MOS has been the same in interviews since the first one he gave in Winnipeg, likely before that. Why are folks complaining about it now?

I don't need an ass kicking.... Just a win. The first of many, hopefully. I'm very concerned about how rusty a lot of the 1s will be, especially on O. I feel like it's gonna look outta sync for the first bit... Especially Brady trying to get used to the blocking at game speed again.
If we win 3-0 to go 1-0 on the season, I'll take it. 
It's gonna be damn good to be back in our STH spot again with our little "family" of fans with plenty of good beers... Ell eff gee.

Evaluating wrs in those games is just impossible. I’m sure that 5th spot is 90% based on tc play. 
 That’s actually one position I’d be fine with flipping to ni. We don’t have two balls to share with all these weapons on O. Another blocker while woli plays slot would be good. 

Offense is big concern to me.  If Oliviera isn't ready to go could get really messy.

Apparently Lenius is currently injured and may be out for quite sometime, nonetheless it sounds like the Riders are replacing him with rookie Ajou who will be making about half the $152k Lenius was scheduled to receive.
