Of the two "big" guys that are left for us to potentially re-sign (and I *do* hope we somehow manage both), Schoen for me is the priority.
This is a passing league and Schoen is a proven commodity who has demonstrated amazing chemistry with our quarterback.  Don't get me wrong, I love the ability to grind down opponents and salt away a game with a dominating rushing attack but running back isn't an area where I'd choose to prioritize spending.

You'd have to think a guy like Richmond is going to figure in somehow as well.
He's a guy they've kept around the last couple of years and I wouldn't be shocked to see them move him to the right side in pre-season to see how he fairs.

Think that shoe is on the other foot.  No reason at all for Streveler to sign more than one year.  Keep options open for NFL and otherwise.

I know continuity is huge when it comes to the offensive line but I'm a little disappointed with this.
Now .. having said that .. Eli didn't exactly light the world on fire when he was giving his limited opportunities and that might be part of this.  However ... the interior of our line was a HUGE issue at times last year and that starts with who's lined up over the football.

If Walters managed to get a draft pick for a guy who wasn't signed sealed and delivered, I will be embarrassed for the redblacks.
man, we've come a long way from the days of the redblacks expansion draft.  Ten years ago they couldn't even find anyone worth drafting on our roster.  now we are supplying them with QBs.

As much as I detest New England, I will be the first to say Belichick is a phenomenal coach but would also say that it's likely neither Brady nor Belichick would have had the success they did without the other.
Belichick's downfall was his inability to build and maintain a roster - he failed as a GM.

Brady is an all round great back. What he does is repeatable and he'd continue to have success for a long time. He'd break records and he's do it as a local kid. So, it would be tough to lose him.
We will probably not fall backwards into another great back, you may get a good percentage of the the production at a vastly different price point though. It would be nice to add home run speed into the equation, as that's an element Brady doesn't bring (and why he shouldn't reset the market, imo - even if there's an RB who does). But it's likely that we go by committee and cycle through different backs in the future if we're unable to retain Brady's services, and that just sucks.

There's always been a vaccine mandate for healthcare professionals.
Yes, I acknowledge there is a dearth of qualified, compassionate healthcare workers in Canada.  As one of those million people who doesn't have a family doctor, it's concerning to me.  It's equally concerning that I might have someone I care about under the care of a "professional" who is so selfish and self-absorbed that they can't bothered do the bare minimum to keep them safe.  As far as I'm concerned, if you aren't willing to do the smallest of things to keep those under your care free from harm then you have no business being in the business you are in.

Lurkers help keep the lights on and if, as a community, we drive those people away it's less likely the lights stay on.
In a professional setting are you someone who thinks those in a meeting who are shy, introverted or hesitant to speak are worthless or are you someone who looks for ways to give them a voice?  Do you recognize that different views, perspectives and experiences are valuable and hearing them might benefit the team as a whole or are you someone who rejects that person because they lack the confidence to put themselves out there? Food for thought.
Frankly, I'd rather this be a place where *anyone* feels safe to contribute .. where those with knowledge foster a spirit of understanding of the game and are humble enough to recognize their opinions are not gospel .. I want more voices, not less.

Your whole post is fantastic . . . in theory.
As a moderator, I understand the challenge of that role (professionally and personally), i.e., providing safe trusting environments where all (introverts, extroverts, ambiverts) feel comfortable sharing their diverse thoughts, views, ideas, perspectives whether fully formed or not with the common objective of contributing for the better.
Especially with the current environment we live in, it's a wicked problem to solve and get better at in an adequate way.
Unfortunately in practice a small minority of humans who consistently spout drivel, play the victim card because they're called on it and yell that they're not being heard ruin it for the diverse population who actually and legitimately aren't being heard and aren't being provided a comfortable safe environment to practice what you articulate above.
This is what we have to debate more and figure out together.
But not here in this thread.
